  • I wonder if the takeover rumour mill will last long enough for our next big goal....100,000 pages?
  • Anyone else with me on having read every single post on this thread?

Disclaimer - Posts by Grapvine The Great I read the first paragraph and last paragraph and give it a like.

    Me too. Sadly!
  • I don't know what's worse, that this thread has been bumped with drivel to hit a page target or that I've read every page.

Easily the worst thread ever on here

This thread needs a bonding trip to Portugal.

This thread may shortly go bunjee jumping without a rope.

  • I think we’ve had a year 2000 moment with this thread. Back then, All of the experts said our computer systems would crash at midnight. @AFKABartram said we’d never make 1000 pages BUT WE DID. Well done, everyone. A great achievement #TeamWIOTOS
  • Right. I’m sure last night someone posted that today was a big day with the deal going one way or the other. Who was that and was it correct ?

Your talking at least 15 pages ago. I've eaten a pot noodle since then
  • What an utter load of bollocks, 175 new posts lol
  • Hi @ShootersHillGuru it was Sound as£ that posted it on page 995, I've copied and pasted below for you-:

Been told something major is going to happen tomorrow......matters coming to a head evidently.
Not sure what it all means to be honest and I’m not sure I want to.......may find sleeping tonight a little difficult in nervous anticipation......could go either way I’m told.

Are we sure he didn't mean this thread reaching 1000 pages?
  • Only 998 pages until 2000!

Not a clue @Chris_from_Sidcup - I just saw it but reposted for @ShootersHillGuru but thinking about it I suppose it could have been the 1000 pages....who knows anymore!!

A Bitter sweet moment has been reached,
and this thread has an ugly beauty where the small step to the peak of this mountain is also our nadir. The lack of Oxygen has created the senses to become cloudy and many are now suffering from cognitive dissonance where they wanted to reach the 1000, yet also craved this sad heavy gravity journey to reach its conclusion.

We have lost folk on the way because we had too many Tensing Norgays who all wanted to climb by a different route, and Edmund Hillary started to hear so many voices in his head he didn't know whether to go down under or middle East route or just keep going till WIOTOS.

I hope you recover soon @jimmyseed but you tried to climb two mountains at the same time while riding a bike which could only end one way.

There are too many people to thank and blame for this thread but the BIG Question remains?

Is this the beginning of the end ?
Or the end of the beginning ?

Recover from what. Have I missed something?
I hope you recover from losing your wonderful sense of humour which went AWOL when you confused social media with real life.
It's others who are confusing social media with real life, not me.

Things went way too far, and definitely weren't funny, at 'another place'.

The defense of, 'we were trying to be funny doesn't work'.

Please let's not debate this further. We can't discuss other forums here, quite rightly.

I'd be happy to get back to poetry and fish puns however, although I'm struggling to find a decent rhyme for 'thousand'?
But do you have any takeover news??? Does Anyone ???

    Welcome back.
    Not sure that rhymes?
  • My question about the leasing the training ground rumour is who is going to invest the required £8m to £10m to bring it up to standard?

A tennant who doesn't own it?

A landlord who doesn't use it and who pulled the plug on it years ago?

The Valley would need maintenance but not to the same extent as Sparrows Lane, which needs major construction.

Hauntingly like when the east terrace needed work and the LL,Glickstein, wouldn't pay for it.
  • Welcome back James. I appreciated your info and it was pretty clear who your contact was/is.
