I sit in the East stand in what will be a £500 ticket next season. I have sat in that seat for 20 years. My son gave me his season ticket last week and said i cant take no more. Last night was the first home game he missed since 1998. Two seasons ago he did every game that season, home and away.
He doesn't want a ticket next season and he's just walked away. Last night i was talking to those about me who have sat there for years, and some wont renew next year.
Every home game is 160 mile round trip. I have been a season ticket holder for the same period and on and off previously, even having one when i lived in Scotland in the 80's, travelling down friday night on the bus and going back Saturday night. Valley gold member since 88.
This poisonous regime is ripping the heart out of our club and its fans, and the quicker they move out the better. Take some of those that call themselves footballers on show last night with you.
I am in the same boat as you but it's only a 15 mile round trip. Sat in my seat since the East Stand was opened and feel sick at the thought of renewing with these idiots in charge especially when it is the 25th anniversary. Seriously having doubts about giving £500 for the privilege of being shat on.
Agreed especially if you can sit elsewhere for £175
Rudd: had little chance with either goal and little else to do Solly: adequate Bauer: decision making and distribution is poor Pearce: enthusiastic tackler but rustiness all too apparent DaSilva: terribly exposed first half much better 2nd half Jackson: King Canute v the onrushing tide of MK midfield, given a hopeless task he couldn't have managed even 5 years ago Forster-Caskey: despicable gutless robbing a living didn't try a leg, numbskull must think he's on loan or something Aribo: game just went on around him had no discernible impact at any stage nor any real indication he knew how or wanted to Holmes: tries too hard and makes bad decisions, which makes him about 3 times better than most of his colleagues Magennis: looks shattered Watt: tries too hard and makes bad decisions and then sulks it's not going his way, there's a player in there somewhere Byrne: typical loan sponger avoiding effort and injury whenever possible Botaka: typical loan sponger avoiding effort and injury whenever possible
Robinson: unfuckingbelievable his completely shit plan unravelled inside 7 minutes and he did absolutely fuck all about it for an hour. I don't think the fat scouse gobshite is dancing to roly's tune but he sure as hell wouldn't recognise coaching or team management or winning a football match if it walked up and bit him. He's either getting some weird kick out of being as bad as Karel Fraeye or he holds a deep grudge against Charlton and wants to get us relegated in the most humiliating fashion. He absolutely has to be taking the piss.

First game since the early joint protest with Coventry supporters and only went to pay my respects to PC Keith Palmer.
Met up with a few policemen outside the ground, shoook their hands, but couldn't say too much intelligable due the level of emotion within me.
The supporters did Keith proud; an inpeccable one minutes silence and plenty of support during the first half for Keith from the North Bank joined in by supporters throughout the ground.
The first half wase dire, we couldn't hang on to the ball for any length of time and I cant recall us creating a single chance in the first half. It was no surprise when MK Dons scored; it must surely have been one of their easiest games of the season.
I now realise that my passion has been sapped, or more to the point totally drained. There is no longer any Charlton fire left in my belly, no feeling of emotional attachment. My feeling during the game was one of neutrality. I couldn't be bothered to clap, chant or rant; just a feeling of numbness and a self question, "what am I doing here".
Half time I went for my customary pee, carried on walking, right outside of the ground. The young lady, upon opening the gate for me to exit said "you wont be able to come back in"; I just couldn't be bothered to give her a sarcastic response.
On my 85 miles drive home, I had no inclination to check the score on my radio, such is my disaffection with my club.
I have been a enthusiastic CARD foot soldier at all protests, handing out flying pigs, beach balls, taxis, alternative match programmes etc. I have no inclination to continue. My white flag has been waived
I know what you & many others are saying & do agree 100%. I gave up at the end of last season. There are plenty of rumours of a sale, fingers crossed that it happens & soon but isn't what is happening to us exactly what has happened to St Truiden (Spelling ?) lack of attachment, atmosphere etc. Football club going nowhere, gates dwindling. people me included just giving up. Have to say it's depressing & worrying that so many people feel this way. Just because I no longer attend I still care & I hope a takeover happens soon otherwise I fear what is going to happen to our great club.
Following the game via twitter was so painful, I know from your comments being there was as well but you can't really vent your frustrations at a iPad or phone

Very true. After the game I went to the back of the west stand on the off chance of venting at someone in particular. No one had the same intention. apparently. Not the right night for anything planned but sometimes you have to take action directly even if just to get it off your chest. They are getting off far too lightly.
I know Robinson isn't exactly Jose Mourinho, but he showed real tactical ineptitude last night. Insisting on playing this 442 diamond when we have players fully suited to play a good old fashioned 442 that will hopefully see us over the line to safety is not intelligent. We could have played Watt off Magennis, Byrne/Holmes and Dasilva on the wings and Chicksen and Solly at full back. Playing a formation that gives a teenage debutant and a returning from injury Solly no cover is stupid, plain stupid. Failing to get motivated for a night like last night is a very worrying sign and I cannot see this bunch of players picking up any more wins. Not fit to wear the shirt? You bet. (Jackson, Solly, Holmes, exempt)
I didn't realise until I read this thread that he was playing a diamond. All I could see was players running about (or walking in TWWW's case) in a random manner, a bit like primary school kids.
It was truly shocking. I thought the home defeat by Posh was the low point - but this was lower. 20 mins before we even had a corner. It is unwatchable rubbish football.
Let me sum up the game for you. MK Dons, very well coached, when they had the ball they moved into space fluently and passed it well. When we had the ball they pressured and hassled and showed that they really wanted the win. Charlton, a bunch of misfits who must be coached by someone related to Katrien with her same complete lack of knowledge of the game. I am glad they gave up their wages because for the first time they were paid what they are worth ! My Grandson and I are looking forward to watching Joe Piggot at Maidstone in the future.
I can't come up with anymore negative words for that performance that hasn't already been said, it was embarrassing beyond words.
Before the game I thought that we would either steam roll MK Dons due to the occasion or be comfortably beaten, of course we were comfortably beaten.
The lack of desire, fight, intelligence and hunger for anything was criminal but you can't just blame the players, the system they were set out in was just ridiculous. So so many basic errors, for professional footballers some of the things I was watching go wrong were baffling, the worst thing is I gave up caring, because they (not all of them) clearly did.
I genuinely think the reason the players didn't bother tonight was because of waving their match fee.
Knowing that Robinson was desperate for a Charlton win against his old club to prove a point - perhaps the players thought stuff you Robnison, you fat Scousegit ? They seemed to play like it.
I have been going to Charlton for over 50 years and I believe this is the worse team I have ever seen, Why does KR continue to play a diamond formation but when we go a few goals behind, we go back to playing two wingers and two up front and look a bit better. ESPECIALLY when Watt is taken off, as he must be the laziest player I think I have ever seen wear a Charlton shirt and even when he gives the ball away he does not run back - missed a sitter and gave the ball away twice that led to two goals and did not seem bothered at all !! Why don't he bring Hanlon in - who at least runs around !! The club is being run into the ground and the players don't care.
Its not really the players that make this so worrying; they seem to be working harder than some others who were not playing. That means it must be the manager and how he gets them to play together (or not play together like last night). I don't think it was fair to say the players were not fit to wear the shirt as I thought they all tried hard as individuals. But there lay the problem; they do not play together as a team. Why? it can only be down to the manager. I am slowly turning against the idea that this is our man for next season even though I am confident he will be here next season. Whatever he is doing it simply is not working. No strategy, tactic, style was evident last night and I don't think the manager has an idea of how to get it to be evident. It simply is not working and the first thing to look at is the defence. Someone should be leading the defence and no one is. I don't know where we go from here.
Despite getting home earlier than I have done for many years, I decided not to post last night as could not find the words to describe how appalling that was. In the cold (well, warm) light of day I still can't. I hoped the players would put in a performance to honour PC Palmer as they clearly don't want to for Robinson but that was an insult to his memory. Can't blame the players entirely as we all know where the real problem lies.
Don't wish to play the drama queen but have fought two battles against cancer in my life. This I feel is the third, RD and his clueless CEO are the new cancer in my life and invading not my body but the club I have loved for 47 years. I fear this is the one battle I will not win, this cancer cannot be cut out, it has to choose to leave our club. Perhaps when there are no fans left they may do, but I really hope they will go now, while there are still good people around who love the club as much as I and other fans do.
Roland and Kat, for God's sake GO!
It gives me great hope that you're on our side and that you're unbeaten. Long may it continue.
was in the west upper last night and saw the state of the facilities round the club,
1.) watched staff pour 4 pints to one group who then stated that the beer was off, so they were refunded and sent to the vista lounge if they wanted a pint. 2.) the toilets few were out of order and the light went off 10 seconds after you went in. 3.) Giving pies to people that were cold and run out of forks.
really was a circus, and it transpires throughout the club.
Thought it was quite a mild night in all honesty. Nice touch though, giving away pies.
(I know, it's a crap effort at chasing humour. But after being on the road since 7am yesterday, then having to sit through that shite followed by a drive back home to Norwich in which they closed half the A11 for roadworks, I allowed myself the luxury of trying to be funny - sorry).
Team showed a lack of commitment and a total lack of respect. Disgraceful. I assume that the performance indicated that they are not playing for this 'manager'. Fed up with this. Didn't watch much.

Mathematically we can be consolidationists but in truth it's a long shot.
