Just got my renewal letter the second paragraph reads:-

'Next season , a promotion push is the goal and we hope to have as many of you filing the stands at The Valley as possible'.

I thought this season was the promotion push?

    But from which division....

    does it really say 'filing'?
  • There is no mention of an Early Bird Discount, only an offer of 6months free subscription to new Web pages (Valley Pass).

Nah this season was the season of the Top Six budget.

Its like Chinese New Year with this lot with the way they have the "Year of the Squirrel" etc. its also no different in the same respect as each year you think your life will show promise only come August do you realise its the same old shite.
  • Never got my renewal pack. Not going to, but would like to be asked.
  • I'm confused by this promotion push idea, isn't that always meant to be the aim every season, try and win as games as possible, surely that would help put bums on seats, even dancing maybe.
  • Insert many as required.

    Debbi does Dallas.

  • Is there any other club in the country where you can pay £125 more for your season ticket than the person next to you (albeit separated by a gangway)?

Don't agree why should I boycott when half of CARD will still be going to games

Because it's a personal decision. CARD have NEVER called for a boycott of attending matches. Last year they asked supporters to leave it until the last possible moment before buying. i think they may have asked for supporters to boycott buying consumables. Not a problem there, just take your own food & drink. You want a beer ? Go to the pub before the game & if you can't go two hours without then you have a drink problem.

£150 if you want to shuffle along from The Family Stand into the North Upper
  • 1 renewing, 6 not renewing.

Was expecting the tickets to be ridiculously cheap to give me a dilemma but decision is an easy one.

    Yes, surely.

You have to have a beginning and an end somewhere.

Closing those blocks would save approx. £100 a match in stewards

Plus they'll close the toilets and food outlets that serve those blocks saving them staff costs, cleaning costs, etc.
Still not a lot of money, but probably a 5 figure sum over the course of a season.

Same for me. I have a halfway-line East Stand seat, and the cost is going up this time around. I've been paying almost three times the amount as some other fans for the last few years, for not really much added value - so this feels like a complete f**k you from the club.

Crazy when you think this ticket price is raising above what I paid to watch us in the Championship. In fact it is doing the exact inverse of team performance.

The club don't run the food outlets as it is outsourced.

And i assume they aren't shutting the disabled section at the back of those blocks so there will be be stewards in that section.

In any case why do we need to save money? We have a very rich and very generous owner who has "invested" heavily in the club.

  • Not that I'm renewing again until they're gone - but I've just looked at the brochure and it lists prices 'Adult', 'Adult Dis' (presumably discount), 'Conc**' and 'Conc** Dis'.

It says that "**Concessions include over 65s and under 21s" but nowhere does it say what 'Adult Dis' and 'Conc** Dis' are....?

My guess would be disabled rather than discount but could be wrong of course!

Thanks. That sounds plausible as disabled prices are not listed elsewhere.

Yeah, they haven't really made it clear what 'dis' stands for have they. I'd be inclined to think it's disobedient or disorder.

I'm a an adult disabled ticket, and the concession is a free helper.
  • anyone who has received a renewal form, are they still running Valley Express?
  • anyone who has received a renewal form, are they still running Valley Express?

Yes they are, £210 for the season.
  • Have to laugh, Dennis rhommedahl is now considered a Charlton legend with his inclusion on the front cover of the brochure!
Now he did score a winner against palace, but still...
