First game for a while and was looking forward to some new faces and a brave new dawn. Left bored, cold and underwhelmed I'm afraid. Some glimpses of class from JFC and Konsa and I can see that Aribo and Byrne will be assets. However, we created almost nothing apart from the goal which was a piece of individual skill and frankly deserved to lose. The sending off looked unlucky but fair to me. Referee was abysmal. Robinson did nothing to endear me to him and is coming across more and more as a vacuous loudmouth. Sorry to be negative as I went along genuinely open minded today but leaving the ownership politics aside, I'd struggle to watch this week in week out.
Not read any post-match comments yet, not even got home yet, a quick pit stop at Newmarket before the last 60-odd mile stretch.
That was two points dropped. Fleetwood were there for the taking but it was as though the ghost of Slade had taken up residence inside Robbo and we went all defensive in the second half.
Fleetwood may be in the play-off places but they were very ordinary today. That they're now 13 games unbeaten possibly says more about the standard of Division Three than Fleetwood's quality ... and equally what level we're currently at.
Finally, a word about the official: it was a Stroud-like performance. Over-officious with the positioning of Charlton's free-kicks (although happy to let Fleetwood take them from a different postcode), missing lots of niggly fouls, an unbelievable amount of added time, and as for Byrne's red card ... well, that looked a joke from where I stood.
Looks like a mid-table finish for this year and Roland to fire Robbo within a dozen games of next season. And so it all starts again ...

Seems to me we've set up our whole system around a player who is ok sometimes but average too much and is currently injured with no one to replace him. Manager needs to be more flexible in his approach and use the players he has to best effect.
We gloated about beating or drawing against the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea but we will always be tiny compared to them like Fleetwood will always be tiny compared to us.
Bit harsh! I'd just hope that he has a disturbed sleep due to bad dreams and is very tired tomorrow. #softpunishment
Either that or he gets overcharged when dining out.
Seriously though, the FA need to look at the standards of refereeing. No wonder there's a vote of no confidence in them.
This is a fair point. All of the matches are recorded these days and rather than depend on a referees assessor who is often distracted in the stands and more frequently knows the official as a friend, we should have impartial scoring of every time the officials get decisions wrong or make somewhat bizarre decisions. This review is conducted after the match by two managers from a different league than the one in which the match was played to prevent bias.
It would not stop the Stroud's and Robinson's first time round but with any luck they would be in the 6th tier of football very quickly.
Today's match was a typical Rosler team big an d physical against a team trying to play. The ref forgave them their physicality because of their size and penalised the smaller team that tried to play when they bit back. Was Rudd impeded when he tried to collect their corner that led to the goal. He seemed very unhappy with the officials at the end.
Can you imagine the outrage had Russell Slade still been in charge, conceding a late goal after dropping deeper and deeper to defend? We draw too many games to be considered real play off challengers in my opinion, and it will need to be a very sharp upturn in results to get there, get to the final and then win the final.
Absolute joke of a red card... Poor touch yes from Byrne and the foot is a little high that appears to slightly scrap down the left thigh of their player but yellow card at best!!!
If anything it's a 50/50 that their player comes out of slight worse off!!
Fleetwood are a well organised side, we were slightly fortunate to get the late draw up there so fate probably decided that they would do the same down here...
We actually played some good football for an hour, knocking the ball around with patience, but struggled to break their defence down apart from great work by JFC and Aribo to set up the goal
All game though we looked really vulnerable to crosses, virtually every corner or free kick into the box they won the first ball, it's the sort of game where we really missed Pearce.
Chicksen going off was a blow, as with Jacko there we looked vulnerable down that flank. The other substitutions were a bit odd as well, having Botaka and Dasilva on the bench seemed a bit of a luxury, when Ulvestad would have been a better option to tighten midfield.
On a positive note we are on a run of 3 wins and 3 draws. Keep that up and we will be around 6th place
First part of the season Holmes was a very effective hard working wide man who then cut in today he was almost like a central midfielder giving Chicks and us no real outlet and not spreading their defenders we were so narrow. The fastest I saw Watt run was for a lost cause ball near our left corner flag, tour defence looked pretty comfortable most of the match Konsa and Aribo great prospects, there were other options than Jacko at left back yes but to be honest he did ok and got a few important tackles in why we bought Tex and Novak on I'm not sure we had basically no threat up front so why not Botaka or the new lad from Arsenal who is apparently a big lad who can handle himself a bit like Josh who is sorely missed Fleetwood are probably the poorest team with the poorest support I have seen down here all season, on paper a good result seeing their position in the Table but watching the game we should have turned them over if we had been a bit more adventurous up front there can't be many more teams like that coming down to us surely and we need to take the initative start maybe playing our fitest players instead of some that were spectactular once.
Thought that other than a couple of very important saves from Rudd in the first half, we were by far the better team, looked very comfortable in the first half, and got the goal our play deserved. Overall I thought that Watt tried hard and will score soon, and Konsa was very classy most of the time today, boy is he going to be a player.
Second half we were awful and can't remember their keeper making a save. I didn't understand any of the substitutions, even if Chicksen was ill and JFC was feeling his calf. Either put Solly to left back and Konsa to right back with Tex on, or bring on Dasilva as he has played there and is quick. Yes, Jacko done alright considering and really tried, but he can't play left midfield, so don't stick him at left back. We needed pace and something to get us going again, because we were very flat. It just didn't make sense.
Fleetwood were set up for a point with 5 at the back in the first half and another bank of 3/4 in front of them. They conceded so made a change at half time, bringing on a striker.
They settled for a point, and celebrated it like they won, but very nearly won it. Whereas, we always looked like conceding as soon as Chicksen came off and again when Tex came on, talk about putting pressure on ourselves and bringing them onto us.
All of the officials were awful, the amount of time wasted when we had a bit of momentum from the change of lino, we almost conceded straight away from restarting play. The linesman on the East stand side was crap, gave so many wrong decisions and couldn't keep up with play most of the time. I almost got confused and thought the referee was wearing light blue. Yes there was a long stoppage in the game and an injury, but 10 mins is a joke, even more so when he played a lot longer than that.
Uwe Rolser is a classless prick. He always has been and once again showed it today. He maybe decent tactically with how he gets his teams working, but he is a tool of the highest order, should be embarrassed to call himself a man and role model to people in football. And people moan about Robinson of how he is, at least he isn't as classless as Rosler.
We have to, have to go on a run now of winning a few in a row, which although many of them are away from home, looking at the fixtures, it is very possible. If we don't, we can kiss goodbye to any chance of the play-offs.
A win today would've put us 4 points adrift with mainly a game or two in hand over most teams, we would've been in a very promising position. Instead that late goal has made things looking tough.
Onto the next one, but we must start winning, and winning quickly before time runs out.
PWR. I believe we scored with our only on target effort of the game, certainly of the first half. It was the same old story with the exception that we had a bit of a midfield of sorts, however all the midfield players faded in and out of the game, and Fleetwood were so resolute and well organised that it felt for us today a bit like it must have felt for Bolton last week. Uwe Rosler clearly won the substitution battle, all the more impressively because one was forced due to injury. We played prettily and well at times, lots of nice passing play, but we all knew that one goal wouldn't be enough and we ended up with this season's signature scoreline. A result that I fear will condemn us to this division for at least another season. In a search for positives, well JFC had a good first half, and experienced players Rudd, Solly and Crofts did well. Aribo had a quiet game as young players are wont to do, and Konsa was good except for one mistake. I don't think Robinson covered himself in glory today, and it looks like we will have to legislate for one sending off per match at this rate. Robinson has decided on the wrong approach to officials, and he needs to re-think this. He is alienating officials when with a bit of nous he could win them over. I don't know why Byrne was sent off, but if I were the ref watching the manager applaud the dismissed player it wouldn't endear me to the manager. I won't be getting a season ticket any time soon at this rate.
Very disappointing that we could not hold out for a win. We are a team in progress but the formation is not there yet, not for +90 minutes at any rate. Fleetwood are a team without stars who have a given method of play, a bit like Millwall really. At the end they had several good chances to score and finally did get a goal. Holmes could have been sent off for his ugly foul on their full back. Poor sod had to limp away. Thought Solly had a fine game and Rudd was excellent. When Josh returns we will be far more aggressive up front.

Watt's shot which was saved for the corner before the goal was on target - that was it for the first half.
