  • I always saw a player that was like ‘ a rabbit trapped in the headlights”. Whenever he got the ball he looked edgy, he had no idea what to do with it.

    Would be more than capable of doing a job for us in league one, and will no doubt be better than whoever we end up with playing there next season.
    Purrington is a very good league 1 left back.

    His game while with us was as error-strewn as poor Peter Shaw's, back in the 1970s.  Comical.
    Maybe a bit unfair...he was a bit like bambi on ice when he started but was a solid member of a promotion side ..shame injury ended his career

    Morgan Fox has been added to the Welsh squad for the key international playoff.

    Since we sold him he's been in the Championship for 7 years.

    Old school left back.
    No frills, no skills, just a solid-ish defender with a left foot.

    You may need to rethink the No skills:
    @Swisdom

    252 games in the championship and 31 games in League 1 over 10 seasons, makes you wrong about the No skills but I tend to agree with the No frills and solid-ish.

    I watched Fox, Michael Smith and Joe Pigott play games for the U21 and predicted all 3 would have decent careers in probably League 1 but not with Cafc. Morgan played 103 games for Cafc but both Michael and Joe had to move on to get Games.
    Morgan Fox being Left footed and decent in the air meant he has achieved a tad more than I thought but I realized he was a good team player and a commited Pro and not totally surprised that his career has been in the Championship.

    Coming after Rhoys Wiggins, Morgan did look pedestrian but he is your 6/10 player.
    Ok 4/10 for some but the Professional managers and coaches think different.

  • He’s a steady Eddie and there’s a lot to be said for that. I think the fact that he’s proved he’s better than league one is because he’s not got that predictable error sitting on his shoulder. Look at our current crop of defensive players. Might in many ways offer more than Morgan but all seem prone to a basic error. That’s why they’re in league one and Fox has plied his trade a level higher.

    Reasonable assumption.
