Maybe it's just me but I really liked that interview. I think he's honest and I'm not sure why propel don't like him.
I don't dislike the fella, but I just can't get over that when you sell a player for a few million, that other clubs will put the price up for players that we want.
Does he not get that?
Oh he gets that. It's just that Charlton were being quoted more than other clubs for the same player. I can see why that might piss of Robinson.
I really don't think Robinson is that smart. He speaks before he thinks and is definitely passing on the Duche message.
He has two problems.
1, Duche tends to only back a manager for one transfer window (admittedly because the managers don't last that long.). If Robinson Is still manager come the start of next season I would expect he will have a lower wage and transfer budget.
2, He will hardly be able to blame the regime when he does get the sack.
I didn't mention anything about the club not backing him, quite the opposite is what I heard. He seems quite upbeat, just annoyed that another club has stiffed him. Decent window with Page and JFC coming in plus the loans look ok, Byrne and the Arsenal lad are the stand outs. Looking forward to Saturday

Respect your view @Redhenry but can you genuinely say this window represents a club that desperately wants to get to the next level?
Imo we had clear deficiencies in certain areas going into it, was in receipt of a near £12m windfall from the sale of two players which could bankroll a complete rebuild and some (which only ever comes along to a club our current level once in a blue moon), yet we've ended up taking a (footballing sense) risk on a couple of kids who have never started a professional game but are as cheap as chips on the wage bill as you can get.
If Bob Peeters states that in the Championship there was no ambition to get us to the Premier League you can as sure as shit that Roland goes not a stuff about us being and remaining in League One.
I think we are still paying the price for past mistakes. I hope the budget improves once some of the dead weight has gone. I agree they are never going to break the bank. Robinson has ambition that's a positive. @AFKABartram
I like KR. Listen to that interview and tell me he doesn't care. Considering the money we got for Lookman its a poor window, but not awful. JFC, Bryne are good league 1+ players. Would rather have quality over quantity, the real negative is we havn't shelled out for a striker. Bogle, Wyke, Le Fondre could we have not gone for it?

How would he know this?
From the players agent or a contact within the game - football is a cottage industry (no not in financial terms) When it comes to who knows who and I would be surprised if there are so many well kept secrets.
So we will never know as to whether he does know as to the prices asked if CAFC and other clubs. What we have heard rumoured is that Liverpool have inserted a clause in one of their players contract that he can't be sold to a certain north London club. As I say there are not too many secrets in the game.

Come the end of the season we will have 6 loan players going back to their parent clubs. We have Ba, Johnson and Vetokele who are not wanted. We have Watt and Tex who they would love to get rid of because of their wages. We have JJ who is finished. We have Kashi who is permanently injured. Once the majority of them are all gone in the summer we are back to square one yet again. They make the same mistakes year after year.
Edit. Can also add Sarr and Cabellios to that list, totally forgot about those Charlton legends

Like Karl im disappointed the big marquee signing didn't happen but I agree with you. Outing Fox and Ajose is another reason why this window hasn't been that bad (page and the Arsenal guy can't be worse!)
If this Arsenal guy proves good and Holmes, Magennis, Watt & Forster Caskey reach full fitness we could be good enough to sneak into the playoffs.
As he says. It's time to go for it now. The fixtures look kinder and we need to go on a winning run.
Fox just been voted MoTM on his Wednesday debut. Owlstalk are raving about him.

Agents would keep him in touch
And are we clear that the player in question has actually been sold to another club?
See I am not quite clear what the alleged motive of the other club is here. We are being asked to believe that the player we wanted was quoted to us for, what 500K, but in the end sold to another club for 250k?
Even if they were trying it on, why did they not, when we said no to 500k, back down and say, OK 300k? Isn' that what you would do, if you thought Charlton could pay more than another club?
I know football is a funny business, but it's still a business.
Managed 3 and a half minutes of Karl's interview. Karl, I could have told you the outcome of this transfer window on January 1st, you're either a fool or a bad actor. Well done for getting in your "why we finished the season 12th" excuses nice and early.
Didn't have all this difficulty signing players when Powell was in charge, or Parky. £150k for BWP, Morrison on a free, Wiggins £400k, Holland's on a free, etc, etc, etc. Amazing what you can achieve with good scouts, a manager who players respect and putting someone who isn't a total imbecile in charge of negotiating fees and contacts.
Am I reading this right? We've bought in nearly TWELVE MILLION in player sales this windows and KR/KM/RD wouldn't loosen the purse strings a bit to get a player in who would have helped fill the gap left by Lookman? What a joke.
So, we have replaced Lookie with the Arsenal kid and Foxy for Page + picked up F-C. If Page grows into the position it might be okay but doubt if we will make the play-offs.

Thought it was Carruthers, who went from MK Dons to Sheffield United.
It's an act people! He's been told to appear angry and frustrated and blame everyone else but CAFC. They pay his wage. He does what he's told.
He took the job knowing what he was getting himself into. He only had to look at previous January transfer windows to see how we did business. He bullshits as much as KM and RD.
Another shite transfer window tinged with a fake and well rehearsed 'frustrated' gloss. Ladies and gents, please don't be sucked in that this is anything else other than a two fingered salute to fans.
KM. RD. TK. KR. Please all just fuck off
Very mature!
From what I've seen since his arrival the gaffer is shaking up the club and I for one will heartily support him worts and all!

Well Sheffield United are a pretty rich club in this division.
Sorry, I am not buying this bullshit. I will leave you lot to it.
If this club wins promotion under this ownership it will be a miracle.
The ambition simply is not there.
All lies.
I now kind of think we are somewhat lucky to have a manager that's so enthusiastic by his new position of football management, he's prepared to ride the storm a bit and just do his best at the job anyway.
So we've got £11mill (reportedly) in the bank, spent a little bit on JFC and they've said we can finally spend some money to finish the training ground (that was already fully funded through the goodness of RDs heart). So... When is the training ground going to be completed? When is the beacon of RDs regime going to be ready to show off?
Training ground will be funded by increasing the debt! Player transfers out mean debt will be reduced and so cheaper to buy club.

I've assumed KR was talking about Reeves & MKD. Reeves being the number 10 he keeps banging on about.
I'm guessing at a possible fee as Reeves is out of contract & free in the summer.

As far as I'm aware Reeves stayed at MKD.
One winner. Roly's pocket
Turned over again by the regime.
11 million in. Fuck all out.
