  • I loved the Paul Heaton gig at Hammersmith too. The fact the tickets were only £35 was a credit to Heaton and his band too.
  • Whilst many of you were suffering, I was at Hammersmith watching Paul Heaton. Top stuff. He introduces his band by name, instrument and team supported. So hello Tony Chapman (I think), keyboards, Charlton Athletic. Got a decent cheer in the building, to be fair.
    Toby Chapman
  • Vampire weekend last night at Brixton. Cracking gig. Supported by China Crisis. There’s one for the oldies among us.
First time back at Brixton for a while and they really pack the crowd in these days. Was rammed.

    That's Toby Chapman
Sometime touring keyboard player with Spandau Ballet and Tom Jones band member
He was Martin Kemp's musician sidekick on that program on BBC a couple of years ago that got a bunch of crumblies together to play a song at Isle of Wight festival
  • Within Temptation at Wembley Arena - tremendous theatrical show with added Tarja Turunen (formerly of Nightwish).  Wembley Arena still a shitty hole massively overcharging for piss poor refreshments.
Michael Monroe at Electric Ballroom - MM as energetic and entertaining as always
Quireboys at Islington Assembly Hall - Spike and Nigel on decent form, ably assisted by their current retinue of hired hands making this undoubtedly the tightest and most professional Quireboys lineup in their entire 40 year history
Robert Plant and Saving Grace featuring Suzi Dian at New Vic Woking - sparkling virtuosity

next up Rick Wakeman being christmassy at GLive with son Adam and singer Mollie Marriott

I was at within Temptation, i thought the pacing suffered at the start of the show, too many songs from the latest album which isn't great. It got much better soon after though. The Tarja songs definitely a highlight.

Gaza aid at Brixton. Very disappointing from a personal view as the organiser Weller only played for 25 minutes.

Loads left after him, but waited an age for Primal Scream due to endless speeches about Gaza. Still £150k raised and PS, as always hit the spot.

Brilliant 30 minutes set from Kneecap.
  • Just been Pete Tong Ibiza classics at O2

    cracking tunes.

Little bit battered, not gonna lie.

  • My first gig after my hip operation and delighted it was this one. Seeing Primal Scream at Brixton Academy for the first time in 11 years. My first time seeing the brilliant Kneecap and (my musical hero) Weller pulling it all together. Weller doing Rocks with Scream as well 🙌🏻. Good contributions from Liam Bailey (plus Maverick Sabre and Weller at one point), Lowkey and Paloma Faith too, with Annie Mac compèring. A great night and a significant sum raised for medical aid for Gaza.

  • Sam fender at the o2 Tuesday night.  He has really stepped up his confidence in front of large audiences and band as tight as ever.

New songs maybe not as catchy as first two albums, but he has to grow into a career now rather than rinse and repeat.

Howden Aldi Death Queue will forever remain my favourite song about COVID (and great to bop along to at his shows).
