One of the lads in this band is one of the Charlton Irish lads who came over for the final. They’re playing in London on 31st July, I believe it’s at the open space by Tower Bridge.

It’s the open space between London Bridge and Tower Bridge just by where the London Assembly was.

Saw the flaming lips at brixton academy last night. Last saw them at Hammersmith many years ago, lots of stage action and a fancy light show but some of the album tracks definitely not beat suited for live performance.

Brixton a real nightmare to get into now, had to queue round the building due to the one ticket on one device policy, sucked a bit of joy from the event.
I’ve got an idea. Let’s print paper tickets. Radical thinker, me.

It’s not really to do with one ticket on one device.
It’s to stop thugs and bullies storming the building without tickets leading to 2 deaths.

Duran Duran on 5 July @ Chelmsford City Racecourse with special guest Nile Rodgers & Chic.

Really looking forward to DD but people I've spoken to who have seen him/them before have told me that Nile Rodgers/Chic could steal the show.

I saw DD at Wembley about 20 years ago, they were fantastic. Not sure what they're like now though. Imagine Nile Rodgers would be as good as ever.

Had a really good and busy run of shows over the last month or so, kicked off with The Ks at The Roundhouse, then The Spitfires at Koko, Andrew Cushin at Concord 2 in Brighton, and The Assist in the tiny Camden Assembly which was a brilliant one last Friday night.

The Rifles (again!) this Friday at the small but excellent Omeara near London Bridge, and then something different with a big outdoor Shed Seven gig in Scarborough at the weekend.

Finally bookending the whole few weeks with The Ks again at The Leadmill in Sheffield next weekend, one of the farewell gigs there after losing their long fight against eviction.

There's a Weatherspoons in the O2 now, if you like a Spoons and you were unaware.
It has an outside area as well.

Saw Jerry Harrison/Adrian Belew playing Remain in Light at Indigo on Saturday... Am a massive Talking Heads fan so was always going to go, but was left a bit cold by it all.. The songs were - of course - excellent but I just didn't feel any connection to the band and it ended up a bit like 'any cover band'.. Vocal duties were shared between Jerry, Adrian and another chap...who ended up doing a David Byrne pastiche which really didn't appeal to me...(copying the mannerisms etc...not needed).. So left feeling a bit deflated really...(and £50 lighter...). Have seen Byrne's American Utopia show twice and loved it and he's just announced a new tour, so who knows, may go see... Still, off to Glastonbury in a couple of weeks, so am sure will see something to make up for the disappointment..

didn’t know that was n and I’m also a massive Talking Heads fan and Renainbin Light is probably my favourite album. Born under Punches my favourite by them.

Anyway, I’ve been to around 300 gigs in my life and American Utopia at the O2 was without a doubt in the top 2 or 3 I’ve ever been to. What a show, the set, the choreography, the musicianship, and the brilliant choice of songs blew me away. I watch the Spike Lee directed film of it practically monthly.

Tickets for his gigs next year go on sale Friday. I’m in.

Saw The Duke Spirit's first show of their comeback tour at The Lexington tonight. Never actually got to see them the first time around - glad I saw them this time, they were excellent.
  • Nick Mulvey in Birmingham last night. Not really listened to him before other than on the radio, but he was really impressive. And that's the power of live music...

Sparks and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs next week.

Tried getting tickets for David Byrne tour in March next year. Only tickets that appear to be left are in the hundreds of £’s, criminal prices, FFS!

If anyone has any spares can you get in touch, be very much appreciated.

    Pulp at the O2.
Absolutely magnificent, an honour & privilege to have been there.
I’ve been to nearing a 1,000 gigs and that was up there with the best.
    Jarvis Cocker is magnificent.

It was incredible.  From the performance, to the set, to the musicianship.  Jarvis is the best at what he does.  This is a photo I took from the crowd.
