I never thought after all these years that I'd be going into a derby match with millwall disliking an element of my own club more than the the boys in blue, but I do.
A win today, for me, will be more about the history of the rivalry between our two teams, and I will credit it to that. Not for one second will it detract from the animosity I feel towards roland & kat.
I hope they both have a shit xmas, and anything they enjoy and love the way I do with Charlton, is spoilt and tainted, the way they have done with my team.
If the boot was on the other foot, and rolands empire was acquired and slowly destroyed through lack of vision, awareness and understanding, he too would be just as upset as I am now, and would be doing all he could to stop it from happening.
It's not a vision he is playing with here, start your own club if you want to try that, but you are playing around with peoples lives, traditions, enjoyment and passion, NOT ON!
The day you go, and it will happen, is the day I celebrate, like I've not been able to do for the last three years under your 'ownership'.
Until then, my hopes and dreams for the club are on hold, it's not a proper club anymore, it's just like one of them manky pigeons you see in trafalgar square, hobbling about with a leg missing and a busted wing, looking lost and confused.
The good times will come back, just not while you two are around.
Then, hopefully with proper decent people in charge, people with honesty, a respect for tradition and the club, its fans and everything that goes with it, will we start to move forward again, as one, chasing the same dreams, hoping for the best and fighting tooth and nail to try and make it happen... That's the Charlton I miss and want back, and it will come back.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all Charlton Fans (keep on keeping on...)
Loved the game in the snow. Can remember all the announcements of road closures through the second half and being really worried the game was going to be abandoned. Didn't care if I was going to be stranded as long as we won. Great day.
We beat the best Arsenal side within the last 30 years at their place.
The last 2 goals were excellent. The chip, unbelievable, world class. If zidane done that....it would be the goal that no one ever stopped talking about. Then the build up to Euells tidy finish.
Nah, it was just pre-emptive consolation in preparation for the inevitable. Why do you think he scheduled this one for the day after as well?
I don't think I saw this game live (I think I may have been working that weekend) but my brother-in-law is a Gooner and he met up with my parents to watch the game in a pub somewhere local to them. To add insult to the injury of the result, he was a bit late arriving, so missed the first 5 or 10 minutes including Henry's first goal, and spent the rest of the match with my Dad telling him how they should have been 3 or 4 up by the time he arrived. He was not happy.

Class act again, Nug. I hope it's a portent of a fine night's work later today.

Great day.
But it will not change the result tonight.

Supporting Charlton in those days
Loved every minute of it.
