Do you mean Murray who despite being 35 Is their top scorer with 13 goals for a team that park two buses in away matches ?Laddick01 said:When Murray is your best striker you’ll always struggle.
Unlucky for Chris but pretty sure they’ll go down next season anyway.
And singlehandedly beat Cafc 2-1 in the champ at Selhurst when Solly had Zaha in his pocket.
Houghton was unlucky to be sacked at Newcastle, but the Seagulls chairman Bloom has given Chris a fair crack of the whip and they only finished 2 points above Cardiff who were blighted by bad luck.3 -
He's got a few teams promoted from the Championship so worth having a bet if he goes to a team there.1

Brighton had to do something as the back end of the season has been horrendous. The FA Cup run was a fluke and covered up an awful season. Correct decision to sack him but I think the damage has already been done.

How is their season awful? They are Brighton.SouthWest_Addicks said:Brighton had to do something as the back end of the season has been horrendous. The FA Cup run was a fluke and covered up an awful season. Correct decision to sack him but I think the damage has already been done.
What's their objective at the start of the season........i'd guess at premier league survival, beat Palace and have a decent cup run. They achieved survival, beat Palace home and away and got to their first FA cup semi final for nearly 40 years.......and the manager was rewarded by getting sacked. Pathetic.15 -

I'll wager BHFC will bring in German a la Huddersfield & NorwichForeverAddickted said:For me Brighton are a bottom five team, they're either relegated or in a relegation battle
At the moment there is no better option for them and needed to get past the second season syndrome before being able to progress - Now though they've got to deal with getting the new manager right and sadly dont see that happening

Brighton (at best) should count their stars they are even in the PL. 17th is probably above their natural position.

Unlucky for Hughton as he didn’t deserve that really. They’ve had a poor season in general but they survived and had a cup run. Makes you wonder had they finished 14th and got knocked out in say the 4th round of the FA Cup, would he had been sacked?
They'll have to bring in someone very good now otherwise they’ll be in big trouble.
Hughton will get another job and get another club promotion.4 -
I think owners and fans also want more entertaining football, and Brighton's has been turgid this season. And to be fair they were quite lucky to stay up really ahead of CardiffSage said:Unlucky for Hughton as he didn’t deserve that really. Graham Potter the favourite for the Brighton job. Worked wonders in Sweden & I thought did very well at Swansea last season on a small budget. An interesting appointment if it happens1

Brighton is a club I have never liked for reasons that are obscure, even to me ((:>) .. BUT, clubs get promoted and gain success on merit (also usually backed by large amounts of cash or credit) .. the idea of 'non deserving' ? .. just not soNapaAddick said:Brighton (at best) should count their stars they are even in the PL. 17th is probably above their natural position.

he had a big budget (by L2 standards) and that is the second season on the trot that his team has failed to get promoted and fallen apart at the very end of the season .. by today's standards he was a gonner at the final whistle on Sundaykillerandflash said:

Sky commentators were saying that Mansfield have one of the top three budgets in the League
Wonder if they're going to try and get Steve Evans back there0 -

John Radford, the Stags owner is a tough and successful businessman .. I can't see him re-employing a man who walked out on one of his companies, leaving him (Radford) in the mireForeverAddickted said:Sky commentators were saying that Mansfield have one of the top three budgets in the League

If Brighton replace Houghton with Potter they deserve to get relegated with Palace next season.Gravesend_Addick said:Graham Potter the favourite for the Brighton job. We have this every time a black manager is sacked. He wasn't appointed because he was black and he wasn't sacked because he was black.Lincsaddick said:Brighton being accused of racism over the Houghton sacking ..

Look at more than his colour. The team in poor form, not playing well and just avoided relegation.4 -
Wondered how long this would take to come up.Lincsaddick said:Brighton being accused of racism over the Houghton sacking ..

Whats more likely, the owner appointed him stuck with him and then suddenly woke up and realised he was racist and sacked him
Or the owner didnt feel as tho they were progressing with him and rather stagnating so decided it was time to freshen it up.
Stop bringing racism into everything and looking for it when its not there
Edit: I am not saying racism isnt in football it is and has been shown this year, but it seems pointless to look for it in something that isnt racist at all and in some way harms the kick it out campaign because it seems like people are desperate to find it in everything4 -

Idiotic articles like this do more harm than good in the fight against racism.16 -
And they came 4th. Hardly a massive underachievement!ForeverAddickted said:Sky commentators were saying that Mansfield have one of the top three budgets in the League

Interesting that they've put the academy boss in charge rather than going for a big name1 -

Brighton have a big catchment area and a modern premier stadium.
If you said Bournemouth with their League 1 stadium I would agree.
Tony Bloom is a decent Chairman who has transformed Brighton from the poor relations to feast at the top table.
I wish we could find an owner with the same ambition for Cafc and not someone who just wanted a factory farm for academy player before selling them on.7 -
I still think 17th is above their natural position. There are half a dozen teams in the Championship bigger than them. All I am saying is they should not be sacking managers for being 17th. I think they go down next season.1

Chris Coleman sacked by his Chinese club Hebei China Fortune. What a lousy decision it was to leave Wales and take over at Sunderland!4
