Managerial sackings, comings and goings

it's a right scrap all through our division, indeed all divisions .. like last Saturday, any team can win against any other (Bury 5-Posh 1 for example, Walsall put 4 past the Blades) ..ForeverAddickted said:Chesterfield have just appointed Gary Caldwell as their new Manager
Very strange move by someone who won this League impressively last season with Wigan... If he then gets Chesterfield relegated this year it could be instant undoing of his reputation
I would not be surprised if Chesterfield avoid relegation .. as you say Caldwell did well (lol) last season albeit with a strong squad .. managers nowadays hate being out of work and most will take any role however 'risky' .. look at someone like Sheridan or Wilson, always working and been sacked more times than a hundredweight of spuds0 -

Notts County sacked Sheridan in December for his behaviour to the referee. Completely unacceptable language, though quite handy for the club as I presume it enabled them to sack him for gross misconduct, and pay no compensation...In the referee's report, Ilderton said Sheridan repeatedly swore at fourth official Matthew Donohue and also threatened to "knock him out".
Hardy added: "Comments of the type made by Mr Sheridan were utterly appalling and wholly unacceptable, completely undermining the community spirit and focus we are striving to develop here.
"It was our decision to terminate the contract based on what I read in the referee's report regarding the incident.
"In light of the recent disclosure of the referee's report, I thought it appropriate to communicate the exact reasons behind the course of action we took."0 -
The fact that we had just lost 10 games on the bounce had nothing to do with it.
If we had just won the last 10 games I can assure you we would have sacked Sheridan anyway.0 -

We need to get rid of Karl now so that we can also say goodbye to Congo Chris before next summer revolving door of players.0

Tony Mowbray the new manager of Blackburn
Having previously managed Coventry, he knows all about dysfunctional clubs...1 - Sponsored links:

Jesus wept, it truly is a merry go round when it comes to managers. What the hell is Mr Personality going to bring to the party at Blackburn? I doubt he will be there at the start of next season.killerandflash said:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39053428

Mowbray and Blackburn are a perfect match. A joyless c*** of a manager running a joyless club.0

corrected for you ;-)1StevieG said:Robinson and Charlton are a perfect match. A joyless c*** of a manager running a joyless club.

To be fair, when you walk out of the Valley, at least you're in London, whereas when you walk out of Ewood Park, you're in Blackburn!LargeAddick said:

Martin Allen sacked by Eastleigh. Lucky Nugent took his job at Barnet last week.0

He shouldn't be managing "clubs like" Blackburnkillerandflash said:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39053428

Ronnie Moore was doing ok with Eastleigh, around the top 7/8, then they appointed Allen and tumble down the table.Henry Irving said:Martin Allen sacked by Eastleigh. Lucky Nugent took his job at Barnet last week.
Seems like a lower league version of Birmingham with Rowett/Zola.1 -

Alex Neil sacked by Norwich. Strange timing, maybe the owners have written off this season and want to get the next guy in as soon as possible0 -

Not sure about that decision personally. Probably pays the price for not signing a top striker for two seasons in a row.0 -
Local radio saying it's strange because he held his usual, pre-match, press conference today and spoke about summer signings.killerandflash said:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39232229

Speculating that the guy they're after may not be available for much longer, hence the sacking.
Club have also said that they are having a 'restructuring', so talk of Warburton coming in as Director of Football although Rowett is the early favourite to take over.0 - Sponsored links:

Has implications for us and Decan Rudd. Neil had frozen him out, now he may have another chance.killerandflash said:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39232229

A lot of Norwich 'folk' rate Rudd above Ruddy.Kap10 said:

And if I had got the unnecessary dogs abuse that he did at Northampton last week I would be more than happy to do one.2 -
Wonder if many will care with Phillips coming throughKap10 said:

Personally would have Rudd ahead of Phillips, but would not be surprised if the regime gave Philips the nod.ForeverAddickted said:

As would I... the gap isnt very big but reckon Rudd slightly edges it between the two.Kap10 said:

If Dillon is ready to be No.1 then it'll save the club some money which can go into other positions (Something I reckon the club will believe themselves, i.e. If we're safe with a few games to go it'll be interesting to see if Rudd is suddenly dropped like what has happened out in St. Truiden with them selling their First-Team Goalkeeper and promoting the 2nd choice for experience)
The concern isnt whether Phillips is ready though, the concern will be; is Beeney or Mitov good enough to be backup Goalkeeper because if Phillips gets injured we need cover2 -
It's irrelevant for this season anyway. Rudd would be available on a free at the end of the season, what might change is whether Norwich offer him a new contract
I imagine the Norwich fans like him as he's "one of their own" and their academy has a pretty dismal record0 -
