So if the quickest way for rd to go is to starve him of funds why haven't card asked for a full boycott and why are card key players still paying to get in? Not fickle but certainly a half hearted and confused approach.

It may not be the quickest way in and of itself, but it is one major element of a more cohesive strategy. Part of that strategy, it seems to me, is to increase overheads. If a certain level of attendance is achieved, or at least the attendance is not predictable, that's a problem in terms of controlling costs appropriately.
You can starve, even when you have access to food. It's the quantity AND quality of the food that sustains.
PS he could have sold the club last season or this season. He's rufused to even speak to prospective buyers.
He could have sold in the Championship but he didn't but now you believe he'll only sell if we're in the championship. Doesn't make sense just like most of the waffle they feed you and you pass on here like a beard.
zzzzz really??? who's they??? we weren't relegated then and now we are and it is clear that the previous strategy - his model - has been abandoned - understand?
How has it been abandoned ? Just like last year they have sanctioned the signing of a couple (at this level) decent players added a couple of has beens & left the squad painfully thin so as soon as injuries or suspensions happen, as they will, we have to throw in a bunch of youngsters who are clearly not yet ready & with no emergency loans this season to prop up the squad I wouldn't be holding your breath on a season long successful run. How did we start last season ? Oh yes qpr & Hull
There is no way anybody can say the strategy has changed. We will only know about that if we are operating at Championship level where the experiment began. The present strategy is a desperate (hopefully successful) attempt to get promotion. Even with the current strategy we are at the moment, as has been famously said, 'miles away '.
so strategy hasn't changed but you refer to it as the present / current strategy - we are all splitting hairs here - fundamentally its about what we believe is required for rd to clear off - you believe hounding him out / a slow painful grind / destruction - I'm hoping promotion and a sale.
I don't recall stating what I believe in those terms. I also don't believe I am splitting hairs. What is being done so far has different people in place, so call that a change if you like. It may well be a temporary measure to get us promoted and then resume the initial approach rather than a sale. This is why I don't think anybody can yet say that there is a different strategy in a fundamental sense.

And that is why I will be re joining the protests if that turns out to be the case - I have a bet on that we won't go up but I am prepared to give the new strategy a chance first

And that is why we r splitting hairs - I know what u mean but if a complete change in type of manager, type of player and player recruitment process isn't a fundamental strategy change then I don't know what is. You're guessing he will revert to type if promoted, I'm guessing a salewhich is far more logical

We are not splitting hairs . There is a fundamental difference between a manager who built a promotion squad with young talent sourced cheaply to deliver a team got promotion and with a little investment could have taken the team to the prem and a manager who stayed in League 1with the money he was given by the matchroom boys at the orient didn't get promotion to the championship and is now buying some cheap journeymen to keep us in league . a fact that his beloved CEO will see as success.
One swallow does not make a summer and one Shrew does not make a season. I may start believing that he has got it right if we beat Bolton both home and away but that is not the same as beating last years premiership champions at home with a shoestring squad (and Yann).
Doucher just pass the message back to the old Belgian cnut
Fuck off and take your rubbish with you
I think he's already got that message don't u?
no i dont because otherwise he would have done that already , we still have a whole heap of trash running down the club and a stupid old bstd owning it

If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die? And if you sell our best player, should Big Dave Of Lockwood not welcome him back like the Return of the prodigal son,you wrong us, so why not we seek revenge and call out your wench, the Flemish Meire ?
Cowards die many times before their deaths; the valiant protesters, taste death but once.

exactly - so us throwing the kitchen sink at it last year (with regards to protests) obviously isn't going to work is it?

So we keep going, upping the ante if needs be.
We find what is going to work and ramp it up get more personal, families businesses and places they go for their own enjoyment that's where you go too,
well, the clues are that we now have an english manager, head scout and players
But we still have a squad that's too small, which was our single biggest problem last season. If the strategy changes, but the new strategy doesn't address the single biggest failing of the old strategy, then the new strategy is hardly worth celebrating.
Rochdale game 2-3pm in stadium protests 3pm 100% support for team Half time anti songs Ft time sit In protests not for an hour but till 10pm I will ring for a couple of pizzas about 7.30pm
I keep coming back to wondering what exactly Roland is winning at, here? He hardly bought CAFC for the joy of beating Shrewsbury 3-0 at home. Which is the heady level his club management has attained in two and a half years. So he is not really a winner here as it stands. He hasn't won any plaudits or accolades for his running of the club with his unique ( meaning weird) approach. He and his cronies have been condemned and ridiculed in the press. That does not appear to be much of a win either. He has alienated an awful lot of his customers who don't give him their money now. No win there. He is saddling the club with debt. He can do what he likes and we just have to accept his way. That's a "win" if imposing your will, however stupid it is, constitutes a win. Although it could be argued that it is just being "an arse." So based on the above, I would suggest, overall, Roland is a loser. Who doesn't understand that he is.

Agreed - but its still a major strategy change and if we are going down the route of a lean squad with academy opportunity, that strategy would only ever work if you had a sharp manager / scout who could spot a bargain / know the league and players and get more out of the group than the sum of its parts. To me, the biggest failing (assuming we aren't going to have an owner who chucks loads of money at it) is that the foreign manager / scout / player thing is not the way to compliment the academy thing. That was the inherent fault in the strategy, along obviously with the buffoon of a CEO, the turfing out of long standing staff and general alienation of the supporters!!! Its far from ideal but it is a fundamental change.

Phew!!! That's alright then. Wish you'd told us before.
No one is winning !. Roland isn't winning, the fans aren't winning, the team (most of the time) aren't winning, and overall CAFC certainly isn't winning. The whole mess is a is a lose-lose situation.

Well someone had to - I keep getting told there's been no change

I've said this before. There hasn't been fundamental change, they've merely thrown us a bone. Ultimately, Roland is still a skinflint and we still seem to have the same policy of buying a couple of decent players, then filling the rest of the team up with cheap also-rans and academy kids. The season is already underway and our squad is not good enough just as last year and the year before that.
There is no change of strategy, just a slight change of personnel.
