One thing that does jump out is can RoJo be as bad as he was last season, with a full pre season behind him?
He was decent the first time out with us. Terrible last year cos he basically got thrown in after doing naff all in India for 10 months. Looks half capable here. He has a good pedigree - I am hoping last year he was simply unfit and behind the curve.
Looks like we may be seeing a lot of long ball next season. In terms of central midfield, there is minimal forward passing and no one who can really run with the ball and take opponents out of the game.
If we're going to get someone in - and we surely must, given Cousins' departure and the injuries to Diarra and Kashi - we really need to crack on.
Not sure I'd want to mess with Umerah. He is a big unit. Guy needs to leave by side door.
Luzon just had to be a nuisance one last time didnt he!!
Well played.
It's a pre-season friendly. I believe it's hot there. The stream is of poor quality. In an ideal world we'll have 3-4 additions to this squad by the Bury match or the end of August at a minimum.
Good, that out the way, we've looked very poor, very flat, and completely bereft of ideas. There seems to be a lot of play 2-3 passes toward the back, then lump it forward/into the box in what could be described as hopeful at best. Wingers have been anonymous. I feared this with Slade, and think it's looking true, at least now, we seemingly have no patterns of play or ideas in possession. Teams are going to sit deep aganst us in this division, and on the looks of the first half and the Anzhi game, we have few ideas how to break them down.
Would like to see CC introduced in the second half. I think he has the technical ability and quality to break down teams. Whether he can actually execute is another story.
Why is Slade obsessed with Johnson...is he the only one we're not planning to sell?
Pointy, shouty, sweary, good in the air. Ticks all the boxes for a lower league second half. When you get a lower league manager, you get a lower league team with lower league tactics.

0-0 with a shit ton of long balls is the consensus. Lovely stuff.
Jorge Teixeira has replaced Roger Johnson at half-time for Charlton #cafc
