Oh that has wiped the smile off my face this morning. Loved watching him, a real character. RIP Harry, hope you'll be turning out for the Pearly Gates XI
Nooooo .... One of my first idols. That team of 1968, I can still recall of their names. A team of legends that almost got us promoted. Harry was a great player and a supplier of crosses for Matt Tees and Ray Treacey. RIP Harry Gregory. Gone but not forgotten ....
I was lucky enough to meet him at the Back to the Valley dinner a couple of years ago, lovely man who happily signed photos for the Museum and for the fundraising @shirty5 was doing for Greenwich and Bexley Hospice in memory of Colin Holland. When I explained the fundraising for Colin Harry immediately and without any prombting from me pulled out his wallet and made a generous donation to the fund.
Also used to always see him at Hackney Dogs at the Saturday morning meetings before our games at West Ham. Top player, top man. RIP
Always had a smile on his face. One match, in about '69, as usual he was shirt number 7 and Paul Went was number 5. They also had their numbers on their shorts. For the second half, Gregory came out in Went's number 5 shorts, while Went had 7. It wasn't a muddy game, so no idea what went on at half time or why they swapped shorts! RIP Harry.
Harry was a Gentlemen always spoke with myself and my son in crossbars along with Theo , he never said a bad word about the club he loved , RIP Harry , thoughts with your family .

For luck, he used to wear his shorts back to front showing the number 7 on the back that season.
H was an absolute favourite of mine when I was a kid.
Sad news.
