I can see how they could get away with only selling to members, but not only season-ticket holders. Aside from anything, that would piss off any number of other clubs, many of who might be looking at us (laughably at the moment) as one of their bigger home games. Smells like something that came out of Katrien's June away day when she asked for brilliant ideas and Tony was the first to pipe up.
I would think they can restrict the sales of the tickets they receive in advance if they so wanted but what's the point when anyone will be able to rock up on the day and pay at the turnstile. I doubt they even realise that Clubs in League One still have terraces.
Sounds about right. Some of the grounds will be new as well they and others will have minimum away allocation so yes away games should be allocated to season ticket holders first. Why is that wrong?

This. A scare rumour tactic followed by selling them as normal. They won't like having to service a couple of hundred away followers who aren't paying to watch at The Valley.
When is the next SAG meeting and can you raise this.
Clear safety issues for the police.
Not a matter for the SAG, as its jurisdiction is The Valley, but we could kill this policy at birth - and would.
I know but Cahones will be there as will the local police. They will be able to point out how unworkably stupid the idea is and @addickted can make his/our views known
Cahones has not attended previous SAG meetings, so not sure if he will be there. It's next Tuesday.
As Airman has said, I'm not convinced it's a SAG issue, though the Met liaison may be interested in numbers travelling without tickets.
Happy to raise it and any other issues people would like brought up though.
Another lie most probably..wouldn't surprise me with the pathetic people running charlton. I'm only going to away matches next season and will happily sit in the home end if true. But it's not so I'll see some of you in the away ends with no season ticket!
I struggle to think that someone could be so stupid. Surely the hosting club will not allow their income to be compromised by peaceful fans who turn up on the day, wishing to watch the game I suspect this was one of KM's ideas, she clearly tries to be 'innovative' without EVER thinking anything through. Katrien should learn to count to ten, take a deep breath and realise that 'that was even more stupid than my last idea'
i don't have a season ticket because I live over two hundred miles away from the Valley but I have been to numerous Yorkshire and Lancashishire and league one would present lots of away games for us 'Northerners'.
Are we another customer group that Katrien can do without?
Sounds about right. Some of the grounds will be new as well they and others will have minimum away allocation so yes away games should be allocated to season ticket holders first. Why is that wrong?
First is fine, only isn't
So what you are saying that it is ok for people that do not go to home games to buy tickets to away games when they go on sale even though fars who buy season tickets and go to home games will not get first refusal ?

Only went to one away game this season at Brentford, tickets at the turnstile, pay in cash.
Nothing to do with Charlton and Charlton had no say as far as I could tell. Got trampelled in the standing section as the goals went in.
Can't see league 1 clubs agreeing to a Charlton request to only allow in pre booked. Sounds like the sort of idea say, Tony Keohane might come up with.
Can't see it being allowed to season ticket holders only or preventing fans getting to watch the team if they are determined to; unless the whole ground is sold out and that's not likely to happen often in L1. It's likely to be another Tony Ballsache veiled threat this time trying to drive up the sales of season tickets which is destined to fail. Must try harder Tone.
I think it's very credible. I can't, personally, see why they wouldn't do it. It is a great way to scare those that have been so outspoken, on here, about not buying a season ticket and only going to away games to buy a season ticket.
In reality I suspect that they might not be popular with the other clubs if they stop fans from going and lining their coffers but, to be fair, they don't seem to give a flying fig what others think of them.
I wouldn't be surprised if they follow through with this and in their defence (logically, not morally) why would they care about other clubs income when theirs is being affected by fans that are refusing to go to home games but will travel? Let's remember that a fan that goes to one home game is worth more money than another fan that boycotts The Valley and goes to all, and every, away game.
Why would they not want to encourage fans to buy a season ticket, and why would they want to line the pockets of the teams that are trying to finish above us in the division.
If I were to play Devil's Advocate I would point out that we have threads calling for fans to cause our home games to be abandoned, yet the thought that the club would make it difficult for fans to be 'away only' supporters and we are up in arms calling out for the authorities to stop them!
I feel that to prevent being abused by many on here I should point out that I am not supporting the regime, and I am not supporting this course of action, I just think that we need to recognise that if we are going to call for 'all out war' we need to expect the other side to arm themselves!

That's not what Henry said.
Quite clearly STHolders should get first dibs.
And as I state in my first post there are grounds next season that fans will want to go to in which the away allocation is not as big as previous seasons. I can now see come what September people morning that they can't get tickets for away games as they are sold out or they should go on general sale blah blah blah . Well I ain't got a problem with that, I want to go to a see my team with my friends and our sons and get behind the boys and Russel Slade. I have had four generations of my family supporting this club and I am chessed off as well as a lot of others of people going to games and spending the whole game slagging off the board and not getting behind the team. So when Wimbeldon, Gillingham, Millwall , Fleetwood, Oxford, Swindon, etc go on sale yes the fans there will be the season ticket holders and even better not such a shitty toxic atmosphere in which has spoilt it over the last season or so.
Some I will want to go to and some I don't want to go to. If I can't get a ticket because I'm not renewing my ST, then so be it. I would never suggest I should get priority over a ST holder and neither is Henry.
But to not allow me to get a ticket for an away game just because I'm not a ST holder, despite plenty of tickets being available, then that is just ridiculous.

Think you've missed the point mate. The rumour is that ST holders ONLY will be allowed to buy tickets not, as is the norm, ST holders having first dibs. Are you saying that ST holders aren't protesters btw ?
Well, if we buy at the gate on the day, don't forget to hang on to your ticket stubs. We''ll need these to get priority for tickets to away games in the paint trophy...

To clarify NO I have not missed the point. 1: As you have stated "It's a rumour" nothing more nothing less so why this forum gets its knickers in a twist over a "rumour" God only knows. 2. I would also suggest that this "rumour" if true has been only half told. The probability and reality is that ST holders will get first refusal and non season ticket holders will have to wait until general sale as has always been the case. 3. At no point have I said that season ticket holders are not protesters, if you read my quote what I stated is that it will be refreshing to go to home and away games without hearing the continued anti songs and get behind the team and new manager for 90 minutes. There is a time and a place for everything in life and how to get messages across without it becoming the norm. I would argue that the fans over the last season have spent a high percentage of matches focusing their vocal chords,on the board rather than the team.

Show me anywhere on this thread where someone has claimed Season Tickets should not get first refusal.
What is being said is the idea is plain daft. For about 5 games next season non season ticket holders may struggle to get a ticket. For the other 18 there will be so many other tickets available these will at least be sold on the days by the opposition clubs. It is what happens now and will happen next season irrespective of what the interim senior management at Charlton think
Are people suggesting a few thousand will renew to be allowed an away ticket?
I imagine the majority of that hardcore have probably renewed anyway, so the impact would be negligible. Not counting the Premier League, FA Cup or major away games (and MIllwall aside there aren't really any of those in the pipeline) I have always managed to turn up on the day and pay on the gate.
I suspect this is little more than a rumour, but given the dire relationship between fans and club, everyone is ready to believe almost anything they hear because they know nothing is too ridiculous for the current owner and his pony.

It just stinks of a Cahones scare tactic to get people to buy season tickets
All fans at home games will have arms strapped to sides to eliminate throwing action capability !
