30 from 12 required to win. 29 off that wasn't bad!

Had one eye on the footy, Spain almost equalized just as the last ball was crashing into the seats.

Yep, and the winner of that probably plays Germany in the quarter final.

Maybe a good time to start betting on a team like Croatia to get to the final.

Only themselves to blame then. You can't expect to win if you turn up drunk.

Couldn't believe Pradeep bowled five great balls and then put it bang in the slot for Plunkett who was going to swing and heave whatever the ball anyway

That's pressure - it's a bit like taking a penalty or a putt to win The Open. In practice they can put it on a 50 pence piece but, in match situations, other they don't execute it correctly or a muddled mind causes them not to think straight.

Just look at Ronaldo with his penalty this week or his last 36 non scoring free kicks in major International competitions. Or, slightly more relevant, Stokes who put it in the slot four or five times for Brathwaite instead of delivering wide yorkers.

2 or 3 key elements to this game, one was where Maharoof wasn't no-balled by (Aussie) third umpire for Willey out ball, when everyone else thought it was a no-ball. The next was the wide by Maharoof I think in the penultimate over, and then the three off the penultimate ball when SL were starting to celebrate thinking it had only gone for 1, which allowed the Tie to come into play.

Nick Compton to take an immediate break from cricket following a "challenging start to 2016 season, both physically and mentally."

I wish him well in his recovery.

I'm surprised, but he definitely looked a troubled man. He looked very down & far too tense.
  • Malan, who's just been called into the England T20 squad, is looking very good for Middlesex tonight

Hales has gone to war. Only 27 off the over.
  • Close match. Hales and Roy both get their highest ODI score. 10 wicket win!

Wow, after the Test series, I imagine the Sri Lankans were hoping to do much better in the ODIs.

I take it England have won the overall points contest

Jimmy is a doubt for the 1st Test with a shoulder injury

That would solve the selection issue of who to drop when Stokes returns to the team, but could potentially have Woakes or Mooen batting at Number 9 which would be extraordinary!

Fantastic performance from hales and Roy! Great atmosphere and day.

Edgbaston is the best ground in England for atmosphere - saturday in a test match is like being in a football ground - its brilliant.

Tell you what, its fantastic if you can blag your way to the top tier of the OCS, as i've done on a couple of occassions.
