What happened near the end of the game?
Looked from the North like someone got blocked trying to invade the pitch, was treated to what looked like an assault by two stewards to such an extent dozens of fans then broke out to rescue him. Stewards led away looking hurt and think the fan escaped.
Regardless of people running on the pitch, there were dozens of incidents today like this witnessed by thousands where the physical force employed by non Police stewards was complete disproportionate, outright assault.

The blue topped stewards seemed too keen and ready for confrontation.
They have been for weeks. We must be a right nasty set of fans.
Wife watched on telly today and when all the police marched in front of covered end she thought, they do know this is Charlton
On the way out a lead blue nobber had managed to catch a dad with his probably 12 year old daughter as they made it onto the pitch because of the press behind them.
The blue nobber had him in a wrist hold and the guy was saying his daughter had just been sick and what was he going to do with 2000 people pressing against them. I saw them run on and if anyone who knows the guy reads this, we will happily provide witness supports.
Only sorry didn't say so at the time.
Well done, Katrien.
Such a great matchday experience that she didnt want to enjoy it herslef!
Heard he got arrested anyway, but great to show the bullies we have the real power. The steward wasn't hit, but was held in a head lock for quite a while.
One steward got knocked over I think. Who then limped to in front of A block where he laid down whilest the Burnley fans started chanting "you soft bastard" at him.
At first they ignore you
[And you don't give up]
Then they ridicule you
[And you don't give up]
Then they fight you
[And you refuse to give up]
And then.....they give in...
...and at that point...We Win.

What I thought was pathetic was just after the Burnley fans had run onto the pitch there was one lad, possibly one of the first who made it on from the East Stand had a bluey chasing after him even through all the Burnley fans he still persisted until from what I saw the fan got into a pack of Burnley fans and the bluey still went after him! Not sure how it ended but frankly disgraceful behaviour from the bluey probably trying to save face.
Disgraceful ...I wonder, from our club, who gave those orders.

I've hated this season but today really took the biscuit-what have we become? Three years ago, Chris Powell was holding the mic after we had smashed Bristol City and finished 9th in the Championship, now we're facing League One, the club is at war with the supporters and, worse of all, I'm turning my back on it all. So sad and so unnecessary.
My son asked me what would happen to the man, I hope the answer is very little. If he gets a sentence that Is a disgrace
One of them tried explaining to me and @AFKABartram last year about how what they did wasn't wrong and how they were only following orders. 'So we're most of the people at nuremberg' said I. Thicko didn't understand. These big fuckers are just like bouncers, they love flexing and giving it to unassuming people they identify as victims. Or youths, they love that too. They absolutely shit their breaches when some bigger nastier sounding boys don't back down. The police are just as bad
A lad was running along the concrete coursing in front of the middle section of the East Stand holding aloft one of the printed SELL UP NOW posters (or could have been the other one) with no intention that I saw to get on the pitch. As he ran past me (Row A at the front) heading in direction of Jimmy Seed Stand he was pursued by stewards and was grabbed and manhandled by one I thought over aggressive blue tabard steward with others piling in. This was approx at a gap somewhere between D and E block? I personally did not see any purely physical violence by stewards just an over the top reaction and grabbing.
Within seconds an older guy arrived and he too was grabbed.
About 4 or 5 guys from The East were grappling with the stewards in a tug of war for the lad and pulled him over and I left my seat to help pull the older guy back over which we did (he was distraught because he said it was his lad and he was clearly distressed and trying to protect his lad and as we got him back he was still looking to find his lad who had got back into The East.
I felt quite disgusted to have witnessed this and seen the distress caused.
The lad was young whilst the blue tabard guy in particular over reacted - Jesus Christ its making me angry now writing this at 1.20am.
