Shows what 50 grand can do.

Shows what 10 grand a week can do too.

What a lovely fellow you are - nice use of the word Slag. He hardly comes out of this smelling of roses - not really sure what kind of man has sex after his mate with a woman who was very drunk.
I don't know if she consented or not but I'd hardly say it was an open and shut case.
A number of issues have been raised about how the retrial has been conducted.

The fact that there was seven Females on the jury, and Evans was found not guilty tells you that the new evidence did make a hell of a difference.
The sisterhood does seem to work out other women's intentions.

Ched Evans Lust and morals has made him pay a high price and cost him years of his career including a place in the last Euro's ?
That doesn't make him Guilty of a Crime, but all Young rich footballers should heed the lessons of this very shabby affair.

Hard to comment unless you sat through the trial - seems wrong in the case of this trial that so much focus was made on the complainants sexual history. The new witnesses who came forward at this trial could potentially have been fed information(not sure of their motivation).
Cross examination of 'alleged' rape victims is generally pretty appalling and the very low rate of rape convictions (compared to other crimes) suggests the process is flawed.
  • Clearly the key aspect was that her identity illegally got out, as otherwise the men who slept with her before and after Ched Evans wouldn't have known that it was the same person...

This is an interesting issue. In pretty much every other area of law, the defence is allowed bring in witnesses to dispute the veracity and character of the victim or other witnesses the prosecution brings in. Surely this is impossible for the defence to do if the identify of the victim is kept secret? The defendant's name is made public in order to allow other victims to come forward and help the prosecution, but the defence cannot normally pursue this line of defence if need be. It is difficult to get any idea of how someone in the courtroom takes in the evidence as I imagine the cases hinges very much so on the testimony of the victim and the accused. And now if Ched's verdict was changed purely because of this witness who was only possible to find due to the identify of the victim being made public, then that exposes a flaw in the system. There is still a very strong argument and very good reasons why the victim's identity should remain anonymous, but clearly the status quo is currently not fit for purpose.

Greenie Jr preparing to celebrate by bagging some young lady, taking her to a hotel room and then springing his mate on her halfway through, as all healthy red-blooded young men do for the benefit of their constitutions

pay a top brief to prosecute him------- of fuck you need loads of money to do that ------someone like a professional footballer.

Can't quite remember being as depressed by a thread before.

Irritated, yes, angry yes, depressed, no.

Can we have an Ignore Thread button so once you have decided you would rather not know what has been posted anymore it just doesn't appear on the list?

Neither is it with Ched Evans
  • So to summarise;

Girl turns up to hotel supported by fella who has sex with her without her recalling.
He calls a mate who she never met or knew who has sex with her while two other mates were filming at window.
Famous mate slinks out of hotel hiding face from cctv.
She claims her drinks were spiked.
Evans family & friends illegally release her name to media
After 50k reward offer a close associate of Evans comes forward an offers feeble downer on her sexual history
Despite reward other witnesses to her sexual promiscuity are not forthcoming
After much media hype Evans gets off

    Thank god for British justice!

He's not guilty. However, he will live with the fact he is a complete wanker for the rest of his life. Not a criminal, but a despicable little shit who will get his fair share of abuse by decent honest people wherever he goes. He will be unwanted in decent company and shunned at every place he chooses to go.

Does this end Simon Church's international career?
  • Being immoral is not a criminal act. You hear of to many birds doing this, acting a slag, regretting it then crying rape. Bollocks

Had thought @Greenie Junior was trolling.

Now even more depressed he/she (guessing he) may be actually saying it how he/she sees it.

Please let you be a troll.

Get out of it, a bird lied and imprisoned a bloke falsely, and he's the scumbag?? Where's the logic?

He's morally questionable but should he have had his freedom taken away cos some horrible bird regretted being a wrongun? Absolutely not and if you disagree then you're wrong.

Call me old fashioned but I think it's the CPS that decides whether to prosecute not a 'bird' as you (and Clayton McDonald) so delightfully put it.

Can't believe how quickly some people have switched from "he's scum of the earth, how horrible for her" to "poor bloke, and what a lying cow".

For a start, very likely she hasn't lied - she didn't say she turned him down, she says she can't remember either way. Unless people believe she can remember, and I find that unlikely.

The appeal itself has been pretty morally murky, like the rest of the case - he's paid friends to stand up and give details of previous sexual encounters which by all accounts match a phrase of 'encouragement' that Ched Evans said she gave him. Why people aren't considering more that £50,000 and time to get your (not mentioned before) stories straight could mean they are the ones lying I'm not sure.

And that's before we get into the very dodgy ground of allowing the bringing up previous sexual encounters in a rape case.

I appear to be in a minority of thinking justice was probably done last time and not this.

No she didn't. She said she couldn't remember. The CPS said he raped her cos she was too drunk to consent. If you don't even know the basic details of the case, shut up, cos you're just making a total arse of yourself.

Ignorant of the facts. Try and find out the facts before you make yourself look even more foolish.
