I wonder what Roland makes of it - Huh!

I've started to share this with people outside Charlton world and football world and the feedback is very positive.

Mainly what comes across through both the song and the video is the anger. It reminds people who have forgotten about what it means to care about something what that means.

    Very powerful stuff.

Great initiative but how exactly is this going to convince RD to sell up?

    @flyingkiwiDK,

I don't think every protest effort has to have an immediate goal of that being the tipping point.

Despite the huge coverage Charlton protests have had on national media compared to others, even many football fans aren't really familiar with the issues or the protests.

The few (so far) people outside of charlton support, hardcore football support even, that I have shared the music and vid with have a much deeper understanding of what's going on here and are now against Roland.

It's both a really good creative effort and another brick.

No one thing is going to make Roland sell, but continued embarrassment to as wide an audience as possible stands a chance of hitting him where it hurts. Which is his ego and perceived legacy.

The more he pressure and pain he gets, the more likely it is he wants it to stop.

    Hope that helps.

I asked the White Swan to download it to play pre match. @big in brasov they have asked if you want to play it live in the pub!

    Doesn't stipulate when.

I would have to ask the lads, but I'd say it is a posibility. They would have to get a small set list pinned down and rehearsed - can't just play MTJAT over and over.

If it is a definite proposal I'll get back to you in a day or two.

Hey, @big in brasov -you have done one heck of a job. Lots and lots of people appreciate it and of course there's always some that have have big, well meaning ideas. Please don't paint yourself into a corner about the 'Live' gig. You are a winner, so don't let others' needs and wants make you feel you have to do any more. You've done your bit, mate. Kudos. You won't be letting anyone down if the live thing doesn't come about.

Absolutely superb. Love it. At last something to sing instead of 'we want our Charlton back' or 'Hey ROLAND' when I'm working on my own. This is a very welcome ear worm.

What is the best way to buy it? Lots of mentions above about getting it in the charts etc......

    1) Buy from where?
    2) Is buying it several times worth it or is it better if I get 5 different people to buy it?

Aggregation my friend. It all adds up in the end - you'll see.

Lets be realistic, unfortunately this is never going to sell sufficient to get into any chart.

The song is not chart registered, it's just released through a band camp website. So there is no chance for it to be charting any time soon, o probably best not to get your hopes up if you buy more that it would.

Still buy it as funds go to the cause but I believe it should of been on iTunes and Amazon etc instead of band camp. What's easily done. If the person who set this up wants to contact me about advice, I'd happily help.

To get it on iTunes would require paying a monthly subsription fee, whereas Bandcamp take a percentage on sales. Based on this Bandcamp seemed the better option.

The more I watch and listen to this the better it gets!! Absolutely brilliant and such a powerful message that is delivered honestly and without any hostility; but most importantly of all, totally and utterly based on realism and fact!!

Would love to be in a room with them and force them to watch this. I would genuinely pay to see their reactions!

I returned my season ticket offer letter and brochure yesterday. I also included a letter explaining exactly why! At the head of the letter I included a picture of the 3 stooges.

Underneath Duchatelet's picture I included the definintion of 'megalomaniac', and boy does he fit it. Underneath Meire I included the definition of 'Inept', and boy does she fit it. Underneath Murray I included the definition of 'Sycophant', and boy does he fit it!!

My loathing of them grows by the day and I can actually feel my stress levels rise as I type this!!

I played it to my 89 year old mother-in-law (mainly because her grandson is in the vid). She knows absolutely nothing about football, but watched it through to the end and said, "I can't believe those people are still there. I'd die of embarrassment if people thought I was that bad at anything".

I don't think she liked the song though. It's far too upbeat compared to her usual Charlie Landsborough rubbish.

It's an affectation that Roland Duchatelet has, people have noticed during the extremely limited number of public pronouncements he has made in his 2 years of ownership.

......and quite fit too. Is that you in the video kicking the ball about on the pavement outside the Covered end? You should have had your shirt off. We have a lot of female fans.
  • Yes, that is me with the beach ball.

Like to keep my shirt on these days, for reasons of personal dignity no less. Having said that perhaps I should have put some shorts on, I understand certain ladies who go crazy for varicose veins

Maybe keep your shirt on but hats off to you sir. I hope you are feeling ten feet tall at the moment. Charlton's own rock star.
