  • Vardy charged with improper conduct towards ref at sending off. Thought his reaction was poor when I saw it. Seen too much abuse from these players aimed at the officials. Tonight Stoke players pushing ref and assistant too.
  • For me if you abuse the referee you should (as Vardy will) get an increased ban. If you lay your hands on the referree or assistants it should be an automatic 10 game suspension.

If they start banning players for being abusive towards officials every game then most teams are going to struggle to field a starting eleven soon enough but luckily they will just punish a player at random rather then against every player who swears in the direction of the officials............

Or players would stop doing it?

1st Yellow No, 2nd Yellow no, West Ham pen no, Huth 50/50 and the equalising pen no chance.

The problem is he got the big decision wrong, which influenced the game, Leicester keeping 11 on the pitch, and they win at a canter.

2nd is a yellow all day long he trying con a penalty. If Ashley Young had done it the media and people response would have been so different Jamie golden one
  • Spurs gonna win it , Leicester's implosion has begun
  • If it goes to the last game of the season, Chelsea will roll over and let Leicester have it, no way will anyone at that club want Spurs to win it.

Vardy charged with improper conduct after his red card yesterday.

Throw the book at him... 3 match ban increased to 5 for a frivalous appeal ;)

I'm joking before anyone flags me. From what I saw on MOTD 2 last night, the ref had a shocker but I dont think he can complain over the second yellow. Why on earth he reacted like he did, goodness knows. That has the 'potential' to cost them now.

Really dislike the absolute sour grapes from Spurs fans. All I ever hear is how "lucky" Leicester are, how all the refs are on their side, trying to help them win.

I'm sorry, they are 8 points ahead of you, have only lost 3 games all season and beat Spurs at WHL!!

Harsh. Dont think there's anything lucky about Leicester tbh and most Spurs fans would agree that. They're worked their socks off and ground out result after result. They've had the rub of the green on occasions but that levels out over the season.

In my opinion, Spurs have played head and shoulders the better football all season. The results don't say it but the stats are more than convincing. No one can say we wouldn't be worthy winners.

Ranieri has done brilliantly getting the best out of the players at his disposal but I wouldnt want Spurs to be playing on the counter-attack the entire season, overly relying on the long ball over the top and 30-35% possession each game. Thats just my opinion. Cant deny it has been successful for them though.

Oh and hope Poch stuck this up on the dressing room door for some extra motivation, not that they need it...

They're literally asking for the football gods to come and bitch slap them...

  • I am waiting to see how Leicester respond .. they have been super all season, if a bit over aggressive and sometimes fractious (remind me of the Revie Leeds teams) .. will they maintain discipline and not go into a collective shell ?, can Tottenham 'get to them' and overtake on the line ?.. we will see .. this is the most interesting conclusion to a Premier season for a long time
  • Spurs are reminding me of the Liverpool side that came so close the other year.

They went on this terrific run to catch and overtake Man City yet you always knew that Liverpool would end up having a few defeats / draws before the end of the season... In the end they did which meant they just ran out of steam and allowed City to catch back up.

Can see Spurs doing exactly the same...

They might catch Leicester but I see them losing a game shortly after which'll let Leicester straight back in

  • Don't forget that Leicester have only lost three times this season...

They almost need to double that tally in five matches for Spurs to win the title, its just happening a bit too late I think.

Cracking end to the season though

I don't mind the over aggressive side of them. Agree though re discipline, it's all new to them being in this situation. Cool heads needed.

Hate to say it but the all important PL Ranking is that Spurs are 2ND!!
  • Yep, at the end of the day, its the points on the board that matter. At the moment, Leicester are in pole position. Good luck to them, they'll be worthy champions if they make it, as will Spurs.

Will be interesting to see how Leicester cope with 2 games a week with their involvement in the CL. Will be a bit of a shock to the system after playing once a week for so long.

Will be interesting to see what they do in the summer with regards to strengthening their squad. I have no doubt their owners will throw some money at it. Their scouting system has picked up Kante and Mahrez on the cheap so they know what profile will fit. I just wonder where they'll try to upgrade. Do they have one clear weakness? I dont think they do.

Same applies for Spurs. Other than cover for Kane, I wonder what positions Poch and Paul Mitchell will seek to improve. Kane, Lamella, Dier and Eriksen compliment each other so well, it would take one hell of a player to come in and change the 1st choice side on paper. Dembele and Dier have been so good in the middle and the back 5 has been outstanding all season.

Wonder if Spurs will try and put in a cheeky bid for Gareth Bale... If they win the League they'll have a nice pot of money (along with prize money) and thats even before the Champions League money comes in.

Just imagine Bale / Kane as a Striker partnership... that would be scary
  • I want Leicester to win it.

It's no fluke they've been up there so long, they've worked so hard for it.

Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest whether Levy makes a bid. But the sticking point will be when Levy offers Chadli in part exchange with a set of training bibs lol. No, in all seriousness, the wages will be the main sticking point. I know we offered him silly money to stay but that silly money wont be enough I wouldnt have thought.

Strength in depth is needed though - cover for Kane for one.

  • Leicester slightly remind me of George Graham's Arsenal team. Not an exact comparison, but there are similarities

Solid back 4, with CBs who like defending and the physical stuff

A pacey striker who operates on the shoulder of the opposition defence, waiting for a ball over the top (Vardy vs Wright)

A talented playmaker (Mayrez vs Merson)

Workhorse midfielders who do all the running

Which would be good but the FA & the Officials have no interest in that, only in punishing a player at random to make a show of doing something.

I do believe players should be punished for diving, cheating and abusive behaviour but only if it is an enforced rule for every player rather then the current lottery system of which player is the unlucky one.

That's a fairly level-headed, unbiased assessment. Slightly surprised it came from a Spurs fan. To be honest I never liked your club until Pochettino went there. From the games I've watched over the last two seasons, I think he really has made you a very very entertaining team to watch. I definitely want Leicester to win the title though, because like others have said, they'll never have a better chance while Spurs, under Pochettino, will go on to win trophies in the coming years. (Plus Ranieri seems a very decent person.)

I read a very long article on Pochettino a few months ago. I can't remember if I've posted the link on here before. It's worth a read. Shows you how and why Pochettino has become such a good manager in just a few years' time.

  • Having watched both teams plenty of times on the box I think its pretty obvious that Spurs are playing the much more attractive football out of the two sides.
Of course that doesn't mean they will win the title but 'Leicester without vardy could prove pivotal. That long ball they love to play up to him in the channel has been really effective for them all season. Without that coupled with Mahrez's recent dip in form could give Spurs a great chance to do something.

Either way, Arsenal appear to be dropping off and that is a wonderful thing.
  • Surely everyone here would rather Arsenal won it than Spurs?

Why? I've no strong feelings in general about the 2 clubs, but based on this season I'd rather Spurs than Arsenal won it, as they deserve it. They play good, attacking football and have a core of young English players than will benefit the national team.
  • Horrible sense of self-entitlement, a squad full of players nobody has ever heard of, a manager who is terribly dull to listen and i just hate them.

Not me, would much rather Spurs won it.

Are you sure you're talking about Spurs???
