A once great figure overseeing the health of our club, but now part of the disease that looks to be killing it. Unfortunately, such is the state of his delusion that anything posted on here he is liable to merely dismiss as "message board talk" - so make that an arrogant enemy; alas, many a man has beaten by their arrogance - and I'm sure many more will be in the future.
How did dismissing the protests as "message board talk" go, Richard?
35 negatives so far - thought we might have had a positive there for a minute. Come on, if Murray would have got run over a few years ago, we would have been hailing him as our greatest ever chairman. Now 100% so far think of him as an enemy. Let's see how this develops - but I hope he gets this message and realises there is more to life than money and tries to fix the damage he has done to his reputation and legacy.
19 responses so far - 100% negative I'm afraid - any Murray fans out there? You are more than welcome to contribute.
I'm not a Murray fan anymore. I think he got lucky in that Alan Curbishley turned out to be an amazingly good appointment. His other appointments perhaps showed this to be a fluke one-off.
In saying that, I don't like the level of hatred shown in the fans comments on here and YouTube. The whole thing makes me more sad than angry - RD can't see his mistakes and the fans now sound more Millwall than Charlton. I'd love to see RD and Murray turn this around but just can't see it. Roland is not learning quick enough from his mistakes. As for Richard Murray, maybe he is just getting too old for all this. Surely, even if RD didn't realise it, the appointment of Karel should have been opposed by Murray. I just hope we stay up and at least have another chance to get things right but I doubt it.
Not sure it's that clear really. He may be thinking that its in the club's best interest that he continues in his role and tries to influence decisions for the better and that if he wasn't there - 'they' would have a free rein. As ever, with these things, I'm sure there is more to him remaining in place than just personal gain for him. His history with the club is too long. Tin helmet on.
I don't like to think ill of the man, he has done some very nice stuff for us. But now I can't see why he would want to stay where he is now, not even playing second fiddle to a woman on work experience. I'll just say nothing on this one and hope he knows what he's doing. If he's a Charlton supporter he will still be a Charlton supporter after this sad chapter ends.
I'll edit that, he with them, not one of us. Enemy but maybe we can all be friends again one day.
Wolves supporter - bad. Let me down - bad. Lied to me -bad. Supported Charlton when we needed him -good. Lying to all, and IMO, hanging on to get some poppy back - 50/50.
