Dunno if Ive mentioned this before, was playing at the Cambridge Rock Festival a couple of years ago, this 25ish very handsome young lady came walking along, in a very short and tight black dress that left nothing to the imagination, and wearing 6 inch high heals, me and and my mate looked at each other and both said, she'll turn her ankle if she's not careful.........! I mean when did I actually care that a woman wearing not much hurt her ankle.........my life is coming to an end.....!
Driving my first car a ‘Sit up and beg’ Ford Popular. Reminiscing about the old boy selling programs shouting “official ear”, and the peanut seller shouting “peanuts tanner a bag”.

My old man had an upright Ford Pop. It met it's doom coming down death hill at Brands Hatch when the half shaft broke, the back wheel fell off and bounced down the hill.
I was in the back but only a toddler so don't remember it.

Best post on here,
For me it's knowing my eldest is off skiing and that he doesn't feel the need to call home and say hello, In fact I don't expect to hear anything from him until the day he comes home,
And the fact I am quite relaxed about him being gone and not worrying
Only being able to buy school uniform from Eric Thomas in Bexleyheath, not Asda, tesco, poundshop or anywhere else.
You just reminded me that the Abbey Wood Comprehensive School uniform could only be bought from the Co-op or Cuffs in Woolwich.. The Co-op uniform came with a separate school badge which had to be sewn or pressed on; the Cuffs badge was integral to the fabric. Anybody remember the huge Christmas trees that Cuffs and Co-op had on their awnings every December? Used to love Woolwich when I was a little boy; the open and covered markets, the old ferry approach; the Odeon and ABC cinemas. My Mum says there were 5 cinemas in Woolwich when she was young. When MacDonald's opened their first UK outlet they said they chose Woolwich because it was a "typical English town". God help us if it still is!
Can't believe I forgot the 3rd cinema that was still around when I was a boy, The Granada. Later a Bingo Hall (still?) Saw Mary Poppins there in 1964 and the queues were round the block to the old ferry approach! The Stones played there, also in '64, but sadly I was too young for that.
There were lots of live shows in Woolwich cinemas in the 60's. I sometimes saw groups there and at Lewisham one was a R&B special, including Little Richard and Chuck Berry. Bill Haley and Ray Charles at Lewisham in separate concerts. Turned down the chance to see The Beatles. The Animals, where they played their new recording called The House Of The Rising Sun, (you may have heard of it)?

All I got back was a "What?"
