Had him as our best player at the start of the season. Held the team together. All fell apart since he's been out...
Thought we started to fall apart long before he got injured - 1 point in September with him in the side - I missed the Hull and QPR games and only saw him play against Rotherham and Huddersfield and he didn't look all that special in either of those games
Maybe he was already carrying the injury and was trying to play through it, when you saw him?
That would impact on his performance.
Fair enough - can only go on what I saw - a tidy performance but no new Scotty Parker. Still think the problems lie elsewhere in the squad though - inexperience at CB, no cover on the right for Solly and JBG, no-one on the left until Lookman came along - not enough creativity in Midfield and lack of goals up front

But otherwise what did you think of the play Mrs Lincoln?
Thing is... Having Kashi allowed Diarra to play @ Centre-Back which meant we didn't feel the impact quite so much, since Kashi has been injured there has been no Defensive Midfielder rock in Midfield to protect the Defence
(i.e. look at the results before and after Kashi got injured... Blackburn was his only 3-0 defeat iwas the second last before the injury).
With Diarra moving into Centre-Midfield its once again shown how much of a help it is to the side having a Defensive Midfielder and hopefully when Bauer comes back alongside Lennon, Diarra can once again move forward.
This is why I posted what I did yesterday on this. I appreciate that you'd rather avoid surgery if possible, but he hasn't played in 3 months and it's only been decided now that he needs surgery. Had we taken that decision after even a month, would we have had him back for what could be a crucial run-in? The answer may well be no, but we'll never know now.
Wish him all the best. He was excellent and our best summer buy in those first couple of months of the season.

It's a sign of how crap our season's been that we're rating players based on the number of 3-0 losses they took part in
In every matchday programme we have a column with our head physio Master & Commander Erol Umut Roland Dutchatlet who provides a full injury update.sight into what he's been up to this week and what he likes to do, who he meets, what he eats etc.
As we’ve previously reported, Ahmed Kashi Roland has been struggling with Achilles Tendon injury translating his business model into a working model for a football club. He’s seen not interested in specialists who are trying to get to the bottom of the problem may be able to help and perhaps push us up the table, and I believe the intention is to and fix the problem without the need for surgery. just wait and see what, if anything Karel Frayere can conjure up.
Nothing has changed from that situation in the last couple of months, we've sacked another manager, KM is sort of padding out her time with initiatives such target 20k, getting people to sit in a sofa and possibly hire a marketing manager, so there’s not much more the club can do other than keep reporting the same thing Roland wants to do at the moment. However, I’m told a decision on surgery was to be made at the end of last week, so the picture should be a little clearer come tomorrow. he invites you all to carry on blogging on your silly little fans' website, second guessing his motives and bickering with one another. He enjoys reading the nonsense, particularly the argument alert thread
So that's now two Achilles injuries to important players that we've comedically mismanaged. Great.
I got a tear in an Ahcilles when I was early 20s. It was the trickiest injury by far to manage, and despite being told to rest it completely I lost count of the number of times I screwed it again because of the combination of 'feels fine' and being desperate to play again.
I imagine his was borderline between patience and op needed. I suspect quality of diagnoses might be at the heart of Cabaneiro rumours.
Gary Poole ............ Andy Hunt .............. Corey Gibbs ............ one minute they're there, doing their bit, next minute it's Kaiser Söze time!
First-Team Physiotherapist Erol Umut said: “We have tried the conservative route and Ahmed has had a number of consultations with specialists, both here and abroad and we have come to the decision that an operation will be necessary.
“Obviously, any operation will leave a player laid out for a longer period of time and that is what we were trying to avoid. He is now due to undergo keyhole surgery this week, after which we will know more from the surgeon’s findings.
Ahmed Kashi is to undergo exploratory keyhole surgery on his Achilles Tendon injury this week.
The Algerian midfielder, a summer signing from French club Metz, has not featured for Charlton’s first team since the end of September.

So they dithered hoping it would heal on it's own but now it's clear it won't, they'll have to spend a little bit of money on surgery?
I know trust in the club is at an all time low on here, but I think it's a bit much suggesting they might play fast and loose with a players health as a cost cutting measure. It's especially disrespectful to a dedicated medical practitioner like Erol who has a duty of care that I'm sure he places above all other aspects of his professional life.
Surgery is not always the best way to go, and in fact I believe these days it is a more and more common practice to try and heal sports injuries with non-invasive means if possible because every time you open someone up you risk other complications.
Just because a player is injured and struggling to recover doesn't automatically mean that the medical staff working with him are being incompetent. Bodies are complicated things, more complicated than any man made machine, and each one is slightly different so just because an injury/treatment proves straightforward for one player doesn't mean it necessarily will for the next one.

Spot on. It was such complications that led to Rufus retiring. His knee operations scarred up, which ultimately did for his career.
Wouldn't any operation be covered by insurance? I don't think the club have delayed due to the cost. I do find it funny how quickly the club have responded to the comments on here. It's a shame they are not so forthcoming in other areas.

Like we are going to spend any money on players in Jan !

“The worst case scenario will see Ahmed miss the rest of the season, but we’re hoping it will be something more simple to rectify, so that we can have him back sooner rather than later.”
