I think Sky or the Beeb said 3.5 and since has been taken as gospel. And even then they would have said 'our sources have led us to believe that the fee will initially be around the 3.5million mark' which is another way of saying 'we don't fucking know'

How many more times do people need telling. We got £3.5m for Gomez as that was what was put in his contract as a buy out. If we hadn't agreed to that then he would never have signed it and we wouldn't have got a quarter of that.
It doesn't mean that was what his value at the time of sale really was.

It's a bit depressing always having to sell your best players, and never see them realise their full potential, you'd think with an owner worth almost a billion quid, that he'd realise the player talent at his finger tips, and try and build on it.
Doesn't really matter what we got for Gomez (as I have said before I was told £3.5M from a decent source), all that matters is that it went on a loan fee for Mak and fees for Sarr, Bergdich, Ba and the forever injured pair of Cellebos and Kashi. Anything left over went to RD.
