I don't know why ur all getting so upset by now you must realise Rd isn't interested in results on the pitch or he would not have brought in another Belgium gonk In his eyes he's turned the club around better facilities and nice pitch so a more marketable asset We are all banging our heads against a brick wall
He could have said (a) I would like a bigger squad to cover us when we have injuries or (b) we have the squad we have and I have to make the bet of it but no, he says you only need a squad of 11 (getting rid of subs?).
Doesn't want to put the boss under pressure, just a gutless yes man.
That is depressing that he is already carting out soundbites for Roland to pick up on. That comment is just as insulting as anything KM has said.
Once anger turns to apathy there is a problem. Anger can be a power for change regardless of how it is managed. Anger can motivate and challenge people to be better. Anger can unite and be the basis for passionate debate and discussion.
This board is apathetic as it has been in living memory. As are the people around me at the Valley. Laughing at something we were once so proud to belong to, be a part of, is testament to the destabilising impact RD's stewardship has had on the club.
Despite being against his regime and approach on the first place I retained a semblance of faith that it might all come right somehow. Patience is a virtue and mine has all gone.
It seems we have little or no way out of this. It is a case of the absent leading the blind and in KM who I had a grudging respect for following some of the issues she dealt with last season. Alongside my patience my respect is all gone and her comments re our history etc will ensure her ride here will be only a bumpy one.
Where do we go? League one possibly. I think I'd take that if it meant we were free of the current board.
Joke of a club , I love Charlton Athletic but hate what we have become Seriously we are in the shit Aaaah fuck em gutless players not putting in a shift they can't be bothered a bit like us fans
20% stay up ..... 80% trapdoor , thanks Rolly you Bell gian twunt

Agree.
If he thinks a small squad is fine in the Championship the man knows nothing about the league or country. Piss take this whole thing, how fricking obvious was it all when RD took over - the SL fans warned us and all the writing was on the wall. Sigh.
From what I saw reported on here, I don't think we were any tougher or happier than last week. This worries me. Maybe the Interim Head Coach has not explained this interesting new strategy properly to the players.
Actually had to edit this - what a load of old bollocks our Interim Head Coach is coming out with FFS. I don't think any of us really expected much up there today but his post match comments are just awful. Well done the travelling support that's all I can say. What an effing mess.

What a sad thing to hope for.
An extremely valid point, it feels like the life is being sucked out of our club, the lifeblood draining away. Sorry if thats a little melodramatic
This is how I see it now. We're heading for League one.
There is only one way of avoiding that, which is for Roly to delve into his wallet and get in six or seven or even eight better quality players in the January transfer window. We need two new fullbacks, one new central defender, three new midfielders and two new strikers. Just to have a vague chance of getting out of this mess.
Sadly no one will want to come to our basket case of a club and Roly sure ain't going to unlock his fortune.
We've had Peeters, Luzon and now Fraeye. Three identikit Belgian network 'coaches' None are/were up to the job. Without an experienced Championship manager we're doomed.
I'm anticipating another loss at MK (probably only two-nil though)
Until the Belgians relinquish their dastardly grip on OUR club, there is no hope.
The good news is; Winter is on it's way and I now I won't be driving an 80 mile round trip to watch us routinely destroyed. I'll stay at home by the fire.
"I have honestly never seen a team aimlessly boot the ball up field to nobody from the very first minute . Your game plan was clearly to go for a draw from the off , your big tall lanky albino up front was probably the worst player I've seen in the championship . I understood why you were time wastng because why wouldn't you at 0.0 but even at 1 then 2 then 3.0 your goalkeeper was still time wasting ? Completely baffling ! If I was a charlton fan who drove all the way up north for that I would demand my money back. I fear for you guys , I actually like you but I'm sorry you have been the worst team we have played by a country mile this season"

If Fraeye actually believes that our squad is big enough in terms of quality then all is lost. It tells me he either doesn't have a fecking clue or he's just saying what Duchatelet wants to hear. Both as bad as each other.
That's me done. Until I see some signing that show me things are changing. I'm not going to go.
I had just a bit, a tiny bit of hope in Fraeye. He's pissed that up the wall with that comment.
Utter shambles and utter disgrace what we have become.
I made the pilgrimage today to watch this. Well..........Fraeye changed the tactics (at last) and played a 4-5-1 with everybody behind the ball and the players clearly told to take their time over throw ins/free kicks/goal kicks etc. It wasn't pretty but it worked. In the second half we tried to play a bit more. Always a gamble and Middlesbrough promptly scored when Nugent poached a goal. We then got outplayed in the last 25 minutes, let in 2 more and had Henderson to thank for stopping another couple. Watt and Ghoochannejad as a striking partnership looked ok actually - Reza almost scored at one point. But: realistically were we ever going to get a result out of this? Middlesbrough are a quality side playing extremely well at present. The real test would be getting something away at Milton Keynes on Tuesday evening. We still only need an average set of results from the remaining 32 games to stay up. Provided (a) we get a proper manager of any sort from anywhere and (b) we get some defensive loanees in we ought to be able to do this.
Maybe this is Roly's plan - create a crisis and then - hurrah! - Roly and KM save the day when we don't go down. Probably less expensive than building a squad to get up into the Premier League.
For the first time lost it completely doing the match thread, for which I apologise profusely, however it felt again as though we gave up after the first goal went in, but we were never really in the game from the off. We were holding off the inevitable and now it shows we are clueless as to what to do. RD needs to understand we do not have a big enough or good enough squad to arrest this alarming slide towards League One. We need a bigger squad and an experienced British manager and backroom team. This HAS to be Curbs/Euell/JJ as the set up, we will have ideas, pride and passion put back into the club at least.
Curbs/Euell/JJ! Are you really serious? Personally I would hope Curbs has more sense than to take on this job and apart from him what do you think Euell and JJ can 'bring to the table'?
Read Interim Head Coach Karel Fraeye's reaction following Saturday's trip to Middlesbrough
George Jones reports
Charlton Interim Head Coach Karel Fraeye was left to rue two quickfire goals as his first match in charge ended in defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.
After a goalless first half, strikes from David Nugent and Albert Adomah put the hosts in control just after the hour mark, before Daniel Ayala completed the scoring late on.
Afterwards Fraeye credited his side for their persistence for trying to force their way back into the game up until the final whistle, whilst also being bitterly disappointed with the clash's final outcome.
Question: Karel, a baptism of fire here today. A 3-0 defeat away at Middlesbrough, what are your thoughts?
KF: “It is not the result we wanted in our first game but for 60 minutes we competed with Middlesbrough. After the goal we had some difficulties but I liked that, even at 3-0 down, we kept going and tried to score ourselves. It’s with that mentality that we will have to go on.”
Q: It looked like Charlton came with a gameplan to come and frustrate Boro. Once the first goal went in, did you feel like it was game over?
KF: “Absolutely not but then they scored again very quickly afterwards and then it was very difficult. We were about to bring on Tony Watt to use the spaces that we would have, and just and that moment they scored the first goal.”
Q: You’ve had a few days with the squad now, do you feel like you’ve had enough time to get to know them?
KF: “I already knew a lot of the players in the squad but now it’s important that we get them all fit and in good condition. It is clear at the moment that we are not ready to compete over 90 minutes with our strongest starting XI.”
Q: Is the squad big enough to cope?
KF: “We can only play 11 players. Whether we have a squad of just 11 or 30, we can only put 11 on the pitch at any one time. We are in the bottom three at the moment and clearly we do not want to be in there. The players are in a difficult situation at the moment and, in the short term, we have to get out of there as soon as possible.”
Q: Karel, this is our third 3-0 reverse in a row. Since you have come in, have you seen enough that gives you confidence that we will be able to get ourselves out of this trouble?
KF: “The biggest answer is that I have had chats with every single first-team player here. Not one player said that the squad was not good enough. If the players, and they all want to win, say this squad is good enough when they train with them every day then who would I be to judge and say it’s not true? Now it’s up to us to put things right.
Q: Moving onto Tuesday, are you going to have to juggle the squad for the game at MK Dons?
KF: “We will see. We have got three days until the game. We will put out our best team at the moment to try and win the game.”
The above it what has been posted after the match. So the players say it is good enough so why should Karel not believe them!!!!!?????? Huh? When we the supporters say it is NOT good enough then Karel and the regime know better.
Well, players, coaches, manager, chief executive, board and owner you lot PROVE you're good enough, because from this angle you all look doomed.

Wow! When you read words like that it hurts. Think that shows we are not over reacting and are in trouble.

Have a chat with QPR and Hull fans see if they agree ....situation dictates how we approached the game for 60 mins we defended magnificently as a team ........
.........because Jacko was holding it all together?
I think he is partly to blame. His mistakes I feel have had an effect on the confidence of the team. He is not alone though, I would say fox, ba and solly too.
If Carol said we competed for 60 minutes then I must have been at a different game. Boro by far the better side but were nothing special. They just couldn't get through ten defenders. No shape, no energy or movement when trying to get out from defence. Posession may have been greater if we could string passes together, but passes were easily cut out. Henderson by far our best player, even if he was time wasting after just 5 minutes. Bizarrely we were wasting time at 2-0 and 3-0. Presumably trying to keep the score down. Preston was a low for the season. But in many ways this was worse.
