This race is an example where Stewards need to look at overtaking off track though.
There have been some stupid penalties where Russell / Tsunoda got penalised because the driver they were racing, went off track to ensure a penalty went the other way.
Then you've had the Norris / Gasly incidents where the driver on the outside has been basically forced wide off track by the defending driver - We need to see more overtakes, not seen it made harder.
Norris coming over the radio at the end though, saying he should have given the position back, like it was on the team to tell him... He should have had the sense to just do it himself, as he'd have had three / four laps (?) to try again... Needs to think a bit more.
Norris is an idiot... Knew he was getting a penalty the moment that incident happened; Stewards have been consistent with that all race - Should have given the position back, and he'd have had a couple of laps to try the pass again.
Just seen that Norris by going off, exceeded track limits for a fourth time, bit like at Austria - So seems like the 5sec penalty was for that, rather than overtaking off track.
Question for those who know more than me, there’s always so much disagreement of who is at the apex first when drivers get rode off the track. Why don’t they have clear lines on every corner across the track showing the geometrical apex?
That way it’s clear to the viewing public (and the drivers) who is ahead

Because that would be sensible and F1 doesn’t do sensible
It will be very interesting to see who gets the second Sauber seat for next season. Go super experienced and keep Bottas alongside Hulk even though he's probably incredibly bored of being down the back of the grid every week or do you take a flyer on a "loan" agreement for one of the 2 very fast , very financially well backed South Americans in Franco Colapinto or potential F2 champ Gabi Bortoleto.
Would expect James Vowles and Andrea Stella to be wanting assurances the car is going to be a lot more competitive than this year's though....
Are Audi involved with Sauber currently behind the scenes? Can't see them being any better next year will be a waste of money
I believe they're now majority shareholders and basically running the show with Mattia Binotto as "CEO" , but don't take 100% ownership until 2026.
Think next year will be a bit of a write off year for most teams really. Last year of the current regs is probably not really worth even doing major updates.

Mick Schumacher apparently still in the frame for it, Audi quietly would like an all German lineup.
Ferrari could be dark horses for the WCC now, they went well in Las Vegas last year, Mexico could suit their car with the long straights and traction areas, same as Abu Dhabi. Since their upgrades in Monza they've looked super quick
Stewards mollycoddling Verstappen, again. It was a fantastic race between him and Norris, but we see time a time again there is no way to overtake Verstappen without crashing because he will dive to the inside and the just run the either car off the track and he keeps being allowed to get away with it. If he’d kept it on the track himself there would be more of a case, but he ran off the track himself.
I love how they tried to blame Bearman for it. He was off the racing line as much as you can be in that section of track, he can't just make his car disappear. Albon's problem was he didn't have the balls to keep his foot in it (which would have resulted in him keeping traction and driving past Bearman no issues) and he was made to pay the price. I reckon Sainz mops the floor with him next season
Going to be a fun run down to T1 between Verstappen / Norris / Leclerc given how important the tow has been here in Mexico in recent starts... Will they all make it through?

Otherwise it should have been a 10sec penalty
George drove an absolutely cracking race to make that work but yeah I'm just bored of Perez in the Red Bull now. Time to see what someone else can do.

Albon just hasnt been the same since Colapinto arrived.
I do wonder if secretly James Vowles is regretting the long term deal for Albon.
However big Carlos Slims cheques are surely this is the end of Perez?
