With my CAFC Hat on and My CAFC Soapbox beneath my feet, If Strachan saw Tony Watt have a quiet game and "blowing through his Arse" I for One am pleased. He can have a blinder on Saturday when we will be last on ?
Watt, We're the main match on 5 against the Tigers ?
Sounds like Mak is a big reason we're not constantly under pressure like we seemed to be last season. 0 in 3 though so he's always going to have some of the less patient on his back. Hoping he can grab a couple over the next 4-5 games to get the ball rolling.
He'll get 10 or more this season - I'll have an upbeats bet with someone on that
This. If we didn't have a geriatric fan base, I'd be amazed by how short some people's memory are.
Is Big Mak the new Leaburn for the 21st Century? Perhaps instead of the old mournful cry of " Leeeeebuuurrnn" we should adopt a new similar "Maaaakkkiiinnnnnnokkkkk"
Was unable to go yesterday, what was Reza's contribution, he got a reasonable run out?
Sort of. Came on, looked busy got in a great cross for Big Mac's wonderfully saved header. Nearly got on the end of a good cross himself. Then after 15 mins. on the pitch he was hacked down, tried to run off the injury, failed and was subbed after 20 mins.

Ha, kwolity
A challenge phonetically, drop the I and it kinda works.
He got subbed because he was injured , he did well when he came on looked up for it , got clattered by their centre half after he skinned him hence the injury.
Doing a Seth as haven't had a chance to read everyone's posts thus far after arriving home circa 1.30am.
However, I note that Guy felt we should have taken all 3 points ....
We DID make several good chances and Big Mac should have put at least one of them away but, although Nick wasn't tested too much by the Forest players, they created quite a few decent opportunities too. Fortunately, 99% were off target.
Thought our "Big Fecking Dane " had his best game yet and was always involved & making life difficult for their defenders.
But TWWW probably had his least effective outing this season and was rightly subbed for a lively World Cup striker.....who, sadly failed to last long in what was a pretty physical affair.
All in all, a point apiece was probably a fair result and I wasn't too disappointed overall with the haul from both away games.
IMHO, Forest were the best team we've encountered so far - plenty of good passing moves, used the width well and were not afraid to shoot. As with Chris Martin on Saturday, Jamie Ward was always going to score but fortunately for us, a knock put paid to his appearance.
Finally, if young Nick can somehow make those low saves stick , he'll be the answer to our GK "problem" - his handling in the air is second to none. Maybe a strip of Velcro on his shirt would be the answer.
So, 2 points and a great victory for Super ( well, sometimes) Kent at Trent Bridge on Monday made this a good few days away for the Fanackapans. Looking forward to Peterborough and then another trip to the Midlands to renew our acquaintance with those gentle, welcoming fans at Molineux. I can't wait !!
Superb Post Fanny ( Is the Pope a Catholic) Would you agree that Tony had a quiet Game because the match came too soon after the Derby game when he was shattered after the 90 minutes ?

Gee, thanks, Sam. We oldies need some extra zzz's these days hence the belated contribution.
On reflection, I think you're correct in your supposition and that his little Scottish legs were a mite weary last night.
Trouble is, it's not going to get easier for a while, especially if we progress in the Cup.
If we had a suitable fit striker to partner Big Mac from the off, I'd rather see Tony come off the bench as against QPR.
Just in .. writing without reading too many of my fellow punditers ..
A terrific game, 0-0 going on 4-4 .. better display than at Derby, Forest were better than I expected, pleased that the Italian Masterpiece Antonioni was unfit (diplomacy, he's on his way elsewhere) .. Our defence was superb once more, Bauer is our best signing for a good few years, Fox is unrecognisable from the bag of nerves who turned out last season .. same applies to Pope .. midfield more creative than at Derby, Jonny B Good was very good, fine dead ball delivery .. Kashi is almost as fine a find as Bauer, Cousins in the centre where he belongs has a Ferrari engine and Ceballos looks very promising, he is very quick and gets stuck in .. Watt is Watt, clever and dangerous, Big Mak got better the longer the game went on, his feud with Mancienne seemed to galvanise him, a potential monster BUT the fans must be patient and give him time
De Vries the Forest goalkeeper was named man of the match and that fact says a lot about the game as a whole .. late saves from a Big Mak header (terrific cross from Reza) and from a Bullet Bauer header and for pushing another Mak header onto the post justified the choice .. our M O M ? .. I'd go for Bauer, but all had very good games.
Forest ? .. Missed Antonio, Vaughan was a revelation, Lansbury very good but thank the Lord couldn't hit a barn door when it came to shooting.
Mills should have been sent off for a disgraceful chop down of Reza who went off injured soon after, irony upon irony, yellow card for Mills and a potential bad injury for Reza, who looked good during his brief appearance .. Forest will probably get better during the season .. AND ... this season is gonna be a cracker with only a fag paper width between most of the teams .. COME ON YOU ADDICKS !!!!!!
p.s. Middlesbrough emulated us and got a 1-1 at Derby last night .. bring 'em on .. and Hull on Saturday .. should be another home win
I thought the performance was technically good, but not a lot of excitement. Bauer, I thought was brilliant and my MOM, followed by JBG, who not only looked good going forward, but got through a lot of defensive work. The passing in places was very good, keeping the ball from Forest. Disappointed with SM, thought he could have done more with his chances, apart from the great save from the goalie in the second half. There did not seem a weak link anywhere, especially in defence. I do not know why Watt went off, (sorry if mentioned anywhere else, but my computer has been down since yesterday, and I have not had time to read other comments). Reza certainly livened up the attacking mood, pity he got injured but KAG did OK while on. I hope that in another couple of weeks, when players have played together more, and with Henderson, Igor to come back, and Sarr and Bergdich still to have a run, everything seems good to me
No one has really mentioned how physical Forest were. I'm sure it was a deliberate tactic to unsettle us. It started with Watt and especially Gudmundsson being targetted, the latter receiving a painful knock on his ankle. It continued throughout the game, with Reza and then Solly on the receiving end of bad tackles, verging on red cards. Mancienne was also trying to rough up Makienok, with the big Dane complaining to the ref, which resulted in the ref lecturing Makienok! With the plan to play a style of football where we pass the ball and aim to keep posession we need the refs to protect our players from the opposition flying in.
Mak's first header definitely should have been on target at least, but not exactly a guaranteed goal if it was on target because he had to generate a lot of the power himself.
Second one was a delicious ball in by Seb, just begging to be stuck away, but it was a much tougher header. Anywhere on target and not at the keeper and it's a goal but it was a much harder skill to control the direction of the header. Good chance, but not a sitter.
His third header was arguably the toughest chance and he produced a lovely flick, with power, to force a good save. Watched the extended highlights on CAFC Player and there were some nice bits of link up play from him as well - there was one really nice chest pass in particular that set us away on the break. Seems to me his height, bright blonde hair and tats make him a bit of an easy target for the boo boys but based on the highlights snippets I've seen so far I'm pretty confident he will come good one he gets a couple of goals. Going three games without scoring while contributing to the overall team's performance is hardly a disastrous start anyway.
Came to the conclusion that we either got absolutely battered or the editor is a Forest fan!
Going by the general comments of those that were at the game I am guessing it is the latter!
I think the highlights are a fair reflection. We had better chances but had less of the ball. Forest were more aggressive and dominated midfield for long spells but lacked any composure and ability in front of goal. We had our silky moments and looked more likely to score when we got near their goal but Forest were on a mission to stop JBG, Watt and then Rezza at all costs and it worked.
Mak had a couple of chances, but wouldn't call either of those glaring misses.
Thank-you. Much better highlights.
Still no sign of Makienok missing an open goal ?
I thought Makienok was unlucky with his diving header and unluckier still with his glancing header.
But not as unlucky as Bauer. Quality saves from Darlow.
Save was from De Vries... Darlow is @ Newcastle now... Liked the cross in from Reza, really seemed up for it, especially when he just missed the cross from Cristian
