Just got back to my hotel room, Had the chances to win the game and should of really be coming away with 3pts.
There GK was voted MOM which was right he made 2 great saves from SM and PB.
We have the makings of a good team and on another day we would be celebrating an away win. Every good bit of attacking open play come through Matinoke who had his best game for us so far and is real handful, cant understand why some fans around me was on his back.
Reza come on for 10 minutes got a whack and did not fancy it which was a shame as felt he could have nicked a goal and kicked on for us this year.
it will be the boys first home game on Saturday against Hull City. I wish I had been able to take him to QPR. He's 5 and so excited and fingers crossed we show our definite improvement since last year to him.
In the top six after 3 games (only 1 at home) Our number 2 Keeper have been solid and only let in 1 goals in 3 League games. The centre back partnership have been immense plus we have young Sarr in reserve. We have 2 good championship standard full backs. We have a passionate coach who tries to win matches. We have a tall striker who is beginning to get on the end of crosses, i feel his 1st goal is on its way(fingers and toes crossed) Our midfield has more legs this season plus Ba to come in as well. I for one am not to disappointed if Tony Watt had a quiet game, because i said in the preview that Tony might find it hard going tonight after just 3 days after playing the full 90 against Derby.
Only Negative for me is Igor needs to be fit soon or we are going to struggle for goals if our midfield don't step up to the plate and chip in with goals. We gave Igor a lot of slack in the 2nd half of the season, because we knew he was carrying the injury, but when he comes back his work rate would have to improve. If Reza is 100% committed to the cause then i have no problem with him trying to prove it on the pitch as the 3rd 4th or 5th striker, to start with ?
Listened to the game on Player. A shame that we couldn't have been a little more clinical in front of goal but we are creating opportunities and forcing saves, whilst Forest apparently had to wait until the 81st minute for their first real chance. A clean sheet and a point away from home are never to be sniffed at and we can be well pleased with our five points thus far.
Let's hope that we can get everyone fit and ready for Saturday, as two away games in four days is bound to have taken something out of the lads.
Absolutely delighted with 5 points after the first 3 games. I knew we would do ok after seeing the signings that GL brought in. This, fellow lifers, is gonna be our season, make no mistake.
When i said Big Mak would be the new Marmite player after seeing him against Daggers and the hammers, i think i'm right already considering the polar opposite comments and his 1st 3 marks tonight have been 8/ 5/ and 8.5/ This is going to split CL down the middle. just for a change
Just drifted off and had a dream where the covered end, which is too far away from our season tickets I think, chants 'he's tall, he's lean, he's a goal machine Makienok, Makienok.
Just got back to my hotel room, Had the chances to win the game and should of really be coming away with 3pts.
Negatives - Compared to our performance on Saturday we didn't press and played at a much slow tempo. Guess this is inevitable playing twice in four days. Forest loaded the midfield, we were beaten to most second balls and Forest looked far hungrier, but our organisation in defence has earned us another point. Notable that Kish seemed to be running two gears lower than in previous games and affected midfield cohesion. Both Derby and Forest were forced to play across our penalty area without breaking through. Last two games teams played with width and had pacy wingers, we stay compact leaving Solly and Fox with plenty too do.
Sorry but Mak was very disappointing for me, he could have been a hero. Unchallenged 5 yards out and time to pick his spot and should have done better. Might have got to a fair number of high balls but misplaced passes and lost control too often. Still 100% more effective than Church and will have better games I'm sure and no way should we be on his back.
Watt never really got going, he was frustrated by Forest's aggression and agricultural tackling and normal ref inconsistency, and it seemed to get to him.
Cynical tackles on JBG and Rezza bearing down on goal, would not be surprised if they are doubtful for Saturday.
Positives - Being disappointed with a point away. Getting a point with quite a few players being below par. Defending around penalty box superb, midfield protect the back four and put the bodies on the line whenever needed. Fox is gaining a presence.
Created at least five clear cut chances, their keeper MOM, Forest had none.
It's been said before many times, but it's amazing how we can all see the same thing, but interpret it differently.
I was delighted we got a point, sure I would have liked all 3, and maybe one of Big Mac's headers was a bread and butter header squandered, but for me I thought he was our man of the match.
He's definitely a Danish Marmite, as My 2 lads thought he was terrible, and missed some easy chances, I was more forgiving, reminding them that this wasn't FIFA, and even Aguero needed 5 chances before he scored at the weekend.
I thought we looked a little jaded from our excerts at Derby, and without Tony Watt, firing on all cylinders, looked quite ordinary in attack.
I thought the Forest fans next to us were good value, Forest had more of a feel of being a proper football club, where as Derby all seemed a bit artificial, and manufactured, it's probably got to do with the fact Derby are in a bit of a new ground, and it all seems a bit soulless.
Another point, to bring us up to 5, which was my prediction at the start of the month, I still think Hull and Wolves are going to be blooming tough games.
When Solly took a knock. I did think if he were out injured, who would be our right back? I still think our squad is paper thin in terms of depth of quality, and I hope this is addressed before the window shuts, otherwise again we are in for a long tough winter.
Just reading Dippy's comments on the tackles, prompts me to mention that on BBC London after Solly got whacked and the Forest player got a yellow, Steve Frogatt said "I shuddered when i saw that. That was the type of tackle that ended my career"
What did those who saw it , make of it? Obviously Chris got up and is OK, but it sounded totally malevolent, and perhaps deserving a red?
Imo it should have been a red, it seemed like a retaliation, for the fact Fox took one for the team by taking out a player who was easily going to get past him, and amazingly didn't get a booking.
That said the clattering Reza picked up when he could have been through on goal should also have been a red imo.
Have to say I would of snapped your hand off for 5 points after them three games! Well played Charlton. Win Satutday and it's a tremendous start to the season
The downside to being an American Addick is that I was still at work during the game (bloody fuming) Took my afternoon break just before halftime, and was a little surprised that we were not in front judging from my Twitter feed. Sounded as though we could have taken all 3 points and although when the season started I had a feeling we might draw these two away games, I'm still a bit disapointed (I really shouldn't be) However we are 5th in the table and that is something to smile about. Unlucky tonight but an away point is still massive and at the end of the day, I'm very happy with it. Looking forward to Saturday
Just back in. Had by far the better chances to win and apart from about 30 min in the second half, we were by far the better team. Big Mak would follow up a great touch with an awful one generally, but was getting in the right positions. He seems short on confidence and I think he will become pivotal eventually. Missed a sitter and had an amazing header brilliantly saved. The ref completely bottled it on two occasions. The tackle on solly was a straight red and arguably so was the foul on reza. Bit disappointed with kashi and cousins, who were quiet by their standards. Our defence looked top notch. Pope took a few good catches under pressure and never looked like being beaten. Seems to grow every game I see him like fox, who was very impressive. Diarra reads the game so well and made some quality interceptions. Although he did look a bit subseptible to pace on a couple of occasions. But special mention must go to our big effing German, he was absolutely immense. He looks like a real quality addition. JBG class as per. Forrest played more like an away team at times, looking to hit on the counter and hard to break down. Mostly they were reduced to low shots from outside the area though and I can't remember them troubling Pope once.
At the end of the day, if we're aiming for top six then draws at Derby and Forest seem respectable. Puts the pressure on us for the Hull game though.
As you may be able to tell from my username I was a big Leaburn fan and from what I have heard (and seen) so far Big Mac is in the same mould. If he keeps on doing what he's doing and chips in with 8-10 goals then I'll be happy.
5 from 3 a good return given the fixtures I reckon.

It was the furthest away from the away section, so couldn't really see it very well, just that he went down in a heap and it looked serious for a while. Reza was nearly launched into orbit, can't see why that wasn't punished more.
Thought we edged it, but we have lost lots of games like that in the past, so fairly satisfied with the point.

Just got back. m1 a joke. Agree with all this. Fox and Bauer immense tonight.
Have to say that the Forest Tannoy announcements were the worst I have ever heard and sounded like the announcer was doing Dalek impersonations whilst eating a humbug and snorkling in a tub of custard.
Very good performance tonight , thought we looked in total control , had some good chances and so did they was a good game of football considering it ended 0-0, Bauer immense , poxy journey home but well worth it well done lads ,3 points Saturday .
Not long been back and I have to be up at half 6 for work!
Another clean sheet, another point away against a relatively strong team.
For me, I felt Big Mak should've scored at least one. He squandered two of his headers in the first half. Both should've at least been on target. The one in the second half was superbly saved so there's no complaints there. I don't understand why so many of our fans were on his back all the time. He was flicking the ball on and bringing it down nicely. A fitter, less fatigued Tony Watt would've done a lot more with them. I thought he was good today.
Our back 5 were solid. When Solly got taken out, I was fearing the worse. It was a disgusting tackle. Luckily he got back up and carries on. Another ref would've shown a red.
Caballos didn't impress that much. I didn't know he was on the pitch until the second half. I don't think it was his type of game.
Reza came on and done well. Didn't hide and only rolled around on the floor twice. He would've been through on goal but the CB completely wiped him out. That should've been red too.
Their keeper was MOM.
5 points from these 3 games is a fantastic return. Onwards and upwards.
Not sure why fans get on Makienok's back. Maybe because he is very unique in his style, which some can't get their head around. Personally I think he is quality and his presence would leave a gaping hole if he was left out the side any time soon.
I thought it was a lot closer contest than some others on here are stating and think that, although frustrating, a draw was actually a fair result. Far from Forest having no clear cut chances they had several; in the first ten minutes my heart was in my mouth as they blazed a couple of shots over the bar and had the ball skidding across our box. That's not a case of having no clear cut chances, that is a case of being extremely profligate with them. If they'd have not been so wasteful, we could have found ourselves 3-0 down before we'd had a serious attack.
To be fair to us though, with a mix of luck and dogged defending we did weather the early storm and did have several good attacks of our own. Like Forest, our problem was also with our strikers however it was exactly the opposite problem. Whilst there's were snatching at shots like a bunch of overexcited school-kids and sending them all over the place, ours were extremely reticent. Tony Watt in particular looked as if he'd prefer to dribble the ball the length of the field and twice around every defender rather than having a shot. Our biggest threat came aerially and it's no surprise that Big Simon had two of the best chances. In the first half he sent what looked to be a perfect cross ballooning up into the air - it really is amazing that a man so tall could possibly position himself so far underneath that ball. In the second half he placed one so perfectly to the bottom corner that I still don't really know how they kept it out. We also had a great shot from Bauer that looked so powerful it might have buried the keeper in the net as well as the ball.
For me, our best players were Bauer who was immense and Kashi who once again ran everywhere. Other honourable mentions go to Solly and Diarra. I was also pleased to see that Pope played well; there was one moment when I didn't understand why he didn't pick up a cross, but other than that he was fine. Ceballos looked a little better than I've seen from him before, though unusually I think Cousins had a quiet game.
All in all pretty entertaining. Yes, it would have been nice to get a goal or two and take all three points, and we could have done so. Then again, so could they.
Not sure why fans get on Makienok's back. Maybe because he is very unique in his style, which some can't get their head around. Personally I think he is quality and his presence would leave a gaping hole if he was left out the side any time soon.
He just needs that one goal and he will start scoring. Sounds like the rest of the team are working out where to find him.
Interestingly, the general mood amongst Forest fans tonight is pretty positive after their performance.
Presumably for the same reason we were positive on Saturday - yes the other team (in this case us) was dominant and threatening but held out for a point instead of buckling.
By far the best chances were ours. SM had two great chances in 1st half that we have to be disappointed with. However second half save from his angled header was excellent and some of his link play was superb. One chested pass stands out in particular to set us away on the right in 1st half. Forest were toothless in the extreme and listening to their support on the way from the ground they seemed to be deluding themselves that possession is enough to keep them afloat. I would suggest that whereas we should, could and would of scored but for two great saves, they never looked like they could. Have to disagree with Stig's bit about a Forest opening storm. Thought they were poor and that heightens the disappointment we didn't win. BTW The Canal House and the Navigation. Excellent drinking.
