I typically get to the ground at 2:45 after the pub. Hearing that 2:15 is a better time due to the new system. Valuable drinking time Grrrrrrrr!

Just get to the pub half an hour earlier and you'll lose no drinking time !

    Good shout @se9addick
  • Phoned this morning. 25 minute wait. They will print a new one for collection on Saturday morning. I said "there will be quite a queue won't there?" and she said "It shouldn't be too bad...we've not had as many calling as we thought...!". We shall see.

That might be because most people probably have to give up waiting in the fcking phone queue...
  • Absolutely dreading Saturday. Hate large crowds outside grounds as it is, but imagine large crowds of angry people (and rightly so) will really up the old anxiety levels. Joy.

Given that they apparently sent all season tickets last Friday, one does wonder why they were expecting lots of calls from people that hadn't received them.
  • Currently waiting to speak to someone (20 minutes and counting). You really couldn't make this up, thought the days of this level on ineptitude were consigned to the past but how wrong can you be.

Know that all the people who I sit who all renewed independently in March/April have all had the same experience, 3 applications/7 renewals so likely to be hundreds impacted if not over 1000. There has been some major cock up somewhere along the way but not when it came to taking my £425 within 3 days of the application.

We will ever get any form of apology or explanation for this shambles?!

    1) April
    2) North Lower
    3) H
    4) 2 tickets - neither received (same address for 15 years)
  • Pretty disappointed with the club over this mistakes happen but it is how they are dealt with that is important, sadly I don't think they have handled it well.

Personally I don't believe that all those cards that have not been received have been lost in the post but more likely most have not been sent in the first place so this is a problem the club has caused and they should making every effort to rectify it with minimum inconvenience to supporters.

I have no idea what has gone wrong but the club should be up front as soon as possible instead of hiding behind the Royal Mail and wasting more time when things could have been being put right instead of risking the prospect of upsetting fans on Saturday. If the numbers involved are small as some suggest the club should be offering to send them by courier today or tomorrow and if the figures are at the higher end that some believe then they really have a problem so should go public and apologise.

All this is a shame because in my experience I have always found those in the Ticket Office efficient and more than helpful but this saga really shouldn't be happening and doesn't seem to be being handled as well as it should be.

I just spoke to the club and asked them to re post mine.

Postman has been - Nothing from SE7.
  • update - my Mum just spoke to the ticket office about a missing ticket. The lady at the Club said that they have spoken to the Post Office as the last batch were posted out last Friday, First Class, and it seems most havn't arrived. The Post Office hav'nt a clue what has happened.

Also said they may extend opening hours tomorrow but no decision made yet.
  • I'm one of the lucky few, received our ST's last week with all details correct etc but you just have the feeling that this wouldn't have happened under @Airman Brown's watch - I suppose this is the result of years of mismanagement & redundancy caused by relegation from the PL.

This isn't a dig at the staff who remain as they do a great job but the club are now losing or have lost the goodwill of the paying punters, I'd imagine many will think twice about handing over their hard earned next season based on this experience

I'm beginning to think they managed to migrate very old data and many of these tickets were sent to old or incorrect addresses.

My ticket arrived addressed to my Dad and had his name on it. His also arrived one of them had a pre printed letter the other had a sticker stuck over it so it's clear that they had to amend many of the ticket letters with stickers. This must have been done manually.

To issue my ticket to my Dad's name and address it to his house (where I've never lived) suggests this must have been done manually. Add to this the fact hat my son's ticket, which was paid for at the same time as mine, when I purchased them online, arrived the same day to the correct address with the correct name on it.

It looks like the whole thing went wrong. If it hadn't chances are that every fan would have had their ticket in plenty of time. There are probably a while load of these season ticket cards that have gone to a completely 'random' address. This also makes me believe that this is why they want the tickets collected - they are not confident of where anyone lives and would have to give that away by asking these fans to confirm their name, address, CON number and seat location (stand, row, seat number).

This suggests that the whole database will have to be rebuilt before next year's season tickets are issued.

I also wonder if they are regretting not using paper printed application forms. Unless, of course, they knew back in February that their database was compromised. That could be why they chose not to post our season ticket applications.

Either way it is now clear that his is more than just a delay in the postage and something that needs to be addresses for the future and, probably, needs some very professional PR to remove the resentment that this has caused.

Either that or we need to go on a run of wins that will make us all happy.

Ironically, I have my ticket as does my Dad and my Son, but we are away for two weeks and don't, actually, need them until we play Hull.

Plausible but unlikely. The more likely scenario is that the transition from old to new database was never checked properly and once the misalignment of data became apparent it was too late to redo it.

When I spoke to the ticket office they checked the renewal details of our 4 seats on the old system and they were correct. It sounded like they were then re-entering those details onto the new system as we spoke. Despite this the 4 tickets have had the seat numbers re-arranged. Of couse this could just be a mistake.

    I haven't moved house in 12 years
  • phoned Tuesday to upgrade one of my kids tkts to an adult for Saturday, got straight through and the tkt turned up yesterday morning in the post.

surely a mailbag must've gone missing for so many people to still not have their ST's, especially if the PO are confirming they went first class on Friday?

  • Been on hold for 32 minutes. lol?

Another 130 and they'll cut you off as its a Thursday !
  • Been on hold for 32 minutes. lol?

Did you press 6 on the options?

I pressed 6 on the options and went near enough straight through.
  • The person who went down to pick mine and his up got there to be told his seat had been sold, this is going to get worse with some very unhappy people come Saturday.

It is quite clear that the club have had a major mess up with tickets and to continue to blame Royal Mail is wrong.

Well if they have sold mine to someone else in east block a they will have to give me a replacement one in the north upper and move @Rothko as well so he ain't on his own
  • If they've sold my seat (the one I have been sitting/standing in for the last 20 years) I'll be asking them to move me to the f***ing Vista Lounge!!

I wouldnt ask that if I were you... The Windows there are shite!!
  • The other thing that's just occurred to me is there must be some who bought a ST but have no real affection for Charlton, just like going to football who after being mucked about this year will think screw this, jump on the Jubilee Line & head over to the Olympic Stadium next season where in all likelihood they'll be able to watch PL football cheaply

Perhaps this is the problem? Letter are collected, sorted and delivered by Royal Mail. Naff all to do with the Post Office - they've been giving the post to the wrong people.

It's possible. I reckon there are 3 people in this camp. Perhaps 4.

Wouldn't it be easier for the club to accept they've totally cacked this up, issue an apology and figure out a proper way to remedy this.. Rather than quite clearly telling porkies, and thinking all will be dandy - when it's far from that, it's not only people without tickets, it's people with other peoples tickets, people who shouldn't have tickets with them, people with two tickets, people in other peoples seats. This could be an absolute mess in realty.

I wanted to buy a ticket to pick up on the day to give to a friend to take with me on Sat, that's now a no go as the queue will be silly.
  • How can it be the fault of Royal Mail when the club have blamed it on Green4 and everybody already knows it's really the fault of Airman Brown?
  • Quick poll to see who didn't get their season ticket to see if any correlation.

    1) did you renew early, I did in March.

    2) where do you sit, I'm North lower.

    3) what letter does your surname begin with, I'm W.

    4) did you have multiple applications, I had 3.

    Cheers.

    1. March
    2. North Lower
    3. E
    4. 4

I went and picked mine up yesterday.
