Phoned at 12ish and got through quite quickly. Ticket office staying open until 8pm tomorrow evening and open from 10am on Saturday. Girl on the phone was adamant it was Post Office's fault. Said that the other tickets would be cancelled in case "anyone else has them" - I said they would only have them if they were sent to the wrong address! Also commented on them sending them out so late, was told this was due to testing the new system.
Shambles really, not happy about having to muck up my plans for Friday evening/Saturday morning to go and collect these - with no real apology or explanation for why it's been so f***ed up.
My friend has picked mine up for me, and it is the seat as ordered. Still a total shambles, and no way I would have gone all the way to The Valley myself just to do this. Now to have to see whether we are allowed in now.
Yes this fiasco, whoever is to blame, does not augur well for the wonderful new technology working properly.
I am dreading it as one who finds automated technology extremely challenging even in a relatively user friendly environment let alone a hostile one like The Valley will be on Saturday with hordes of rightly frustrated people.
I collected my remaining two - About ten people in front of me and took twenty mins to get served - So Charlton's own version of Operation Stack is set for Saturday!
I've tried calling at various points through the day all week (times dictated by work). I've sent emails but have not received a reply.
I'm working until 7 tomorrow and until 2 on Saturday so wont be able to go to the office to collect. I've tried calling the ticket office this afternoon but its closed!
Does anyone have any contact details for anyone at the club who I can contact? (serious answers please)

I called the club on 0208 3334000 i got through on my 5th go. I asked the lad who answered what could be done? he took my name and number and said someone from the ticket office would call me back later. Watch this space.

We are probably well past the blame thing anyway. Even if it is the fault of the Post Office (hmmmnnn), then whatever extra stuff and expense Charlton have had to do they can try to claim back from the post office. I suspect Post office small print does not guarantee mail delivery at any time whether first or second class, most of us know you have to allow time. saying that I posted mail to Cardiff yesterday, and have had an email acknowledgement from the recipient today. The chances are that if the tickets had been posted in good time like they have done in every previous season then any slowness from the post office could have been allowed for. Otherwise if it is the fault of the post office there must be a lot of rogue anti-Charlton posties all over the place dumping the season ticket mail. I repeat what I said, any notion that somehow the fans are wrong, wrong to feel anxious, wrong to feel stressed, wrong to feel aggrieved (although they would be wrong to be shouty or abusive) needs to be challenged. We are supposed to be building a better tomorrow today, but the reality is money taken in March/April, and a cock up in August. With a bit of imagination the club could make it up to the fans, however last season we had the issue of the flexible early bird deadline, when I asked the ticket office people by email if they could extend the early bird this season for those who needn't have renewed so early last season, the reaction was 'no, but that this season ticket stuff would be so much better. Well it isn't.
So are we looking at a data protection breach if a shed load of personal data has been lost or was there insufficient information on the ticket and covering letter ?
They could have easily avoided all this negative press by just allowing people to print off their season ticket receipt or similar and turn up on the day and say their ST hasn't arrived.
I doubt there are even 25,000 people who want to see the first game, let alone the max capacity. Might as well get as many bums on seats and get them buying their 13 chips and beer.

"Fans that cannot make it to The Valley tomorrow will be ale to have their season tickets re-printed from the North Stand ticket office from 10am on Saturday morning. "
I'm sure that should read:
"Fans that cannot make it to The Valley tomorrow will be given free ale while they wait to have their season tickets re-printed from the North Stand ticket office from 10am on Saturday morning.
I think what happened, was someone was made redundant, accessed the supporter database of names and addresses, then pressed shuffle, before exiting.
If you're still without a S/T & it's not too much hassle, I'd go down there tomorrow or as early as is practicable on Saturday.
Without trying to be dramatic, if there are say 200 people who need to sort this out after midday on Saturday and each customer takes 3 minutes, that's 200x 3 minutes = 600 minutes = 10 hours !
It's sad to read that so many on here feel badly let down by the club. Without wishing to sound smug, we ordered 3 renewals in April, they were posted to us last Friday 31/7 and arrived (at 2 different addresses) on Saturday morning. All I hope is that all those who don't yet have their tickets, get their replacements without too much more fuss, that the machines work smoothly, and we give QPR a sound thrashing so we can put all this behind us. Too much to wish for?
Seems like common sense has prevailed and the ticket office is extending their hours tomorrow and Saturday before the game.
Credit where credit is due, but this has been a monumental f**k up and one which has put the club and its senior management in very bad light.
But its all paid up customers who will probably be there regardless. The fans get messed about no end and the management will get away with it because it has upset the people who have paid for every game already.Thats the annoying thing.
Thanks to all those that completed my mini survey, what comes across loud and clear is that the vast majority who did not receive their ticket renewed early.
Just hope they haven't sold some of them twice.
Still haven't received a ticket by post, doubt the club even sent it,probably don't even know how many they have sold. Complete and utter shambles.

Exactly the same WelshAddick. As of yet no call back.

That may well be the case but I suspect that most season tickets were sold early due to the price discount.
