Really glad for you and your family Red.
  • Great stuff, Red !

    Made my day.
  • RM well done on such a great and rapid recovery, hang on in their re the mood swings they will get more manageable so long as you keep reminding yourself (and those around you!) that it is just that, swings. They go back and forth, live with and love both directions when you can.

Great news but what were his views on the mankini treatment?

The good news on this was he suggests, for the sake of the public's mental health that i NEVER do that again

Not sure which is the better news - your recovery or the mankini being consigned to the bin.

(p.s. I do know which is best really - great news Red).

LATEST UPDATE....after my visit to hospital today for my 'echo gram', which was the final part in the recent testing to see how my heart has reacted to the 'jump-start', I can report that my heart function HAS improved!! The wall of my heart is stronger and it is pumping better and also it is still in 'sinus rhythm' (beating correctly). They couldn't tell me how much better it is but it has improved since the last echo gram (March 2015) which showed a 10% improvement from when I was admitted. As long as it come back at 33% or more then my heart has responded to the drugs and also the regime I've been on. I completed a 3 1/2 mile walk last Monday and told the them about it, they said that it was very impressive and showed how well my heart is now responding to treatment. So there we go - I just have to wait for the actual results (which for me providing it is higher than 30% effective I will take...for now) and then I'll meet my consultant and see where we go from here. As ever my thanks to you ALL and of course to my wonderful wife for helping me through a very scary and difficult time....cheers from a very happy person..take care all, LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE and MOST OF ALL BE HAPPY. Thanks RM

Hi all, I have some excellent news (well it is for me) I had another echogram in January and the results came back this morning, my heart is now working at 45% capacity and has smashed the 35% that the cardiologist was hoping I would get to (last September) and hopefully maintain. Well not only did I maintain it I have gone 10% better. I also had some other tests to check potassium and kidney function levels, and both are now showing normal. My INR which needs to be between 2.5 and 3.5 also came back today at 2.7!!
In conclusion they have decided that as my heart is nearly normal again (normal being 50-55%) and so much better than the 18% when admitted, I will have a further cardioversion to try and get my heart back into rhythm again, with the thought that this may well work and this time stay (in rhythm).
As you have all followed me since Dec 14 when I was admitted I thought it would be good to share this news with you all.

As an aside....my final total for the Peak district walk I did last Saturday and the auction for Jason Euell's shirt was an amazing £1100.......thank you all so much, you will save lives is all I can tell you.

Now come Charlton, lets get 3 points tomorrow please!!!
