Doesn't mean he still is of course, (if he was) will be a good loan to see just where he stands, but I'm with Callum in that I don't think we'll see him back here and starting, mainly, as I doubt a loan at the Gill's in league 2 will suddenly turn him into a ball playing goalkeeper for the Garner style....
FWIW the only keeper on our books coming through who excites me is Kone. I haven't seen any errors from him in respect of shot saving at least.
Goalies are coached to be Sweeper keepers now. David James was ahead of his time.
I still think the jeopardy factor is too high at times when keepers go walk about; Just ask David Marshall.

I'm not entirely sure 3 months playing in the depths of league 2 is going to change that.0 -
The Gills have just signed Newcastle's reserve keeper on loan as well, so he might not be first choice there.0

It's probably whoever gets the free loan or massively reduced wages that have to play (imo)0 -

I'd be surprised if we havent inserted a similar clause to the one we tied Ross County to - If Ashley plays, then its to his advantage, if he doesnt play then its to our advantage and Gillingham have to compensate us in that scenario2

AMB came off after 20 minutes today for Gillingham. Another shoulder injury. Hoping it’s not another dislocation.
Got to worry for his career with all these injuries at such a young age.1 -
He really is quite injury prone the poor lad.0

Harris post match saying it’s likely a dislocated shoulder.0
-
With it being his second this year, and likely to be the same shoulder, he’ll need an operation which as a keeper will put him back a few months.
A real shame because a player with lots of potential and he really needed a full season without these kind of injuries (or concussion for that matter!). Wish him the best, but a real shame.6 -
It looks like the club made the right decision sending him out on loan and keeping McG. We need 2 fully fit goalkeepers competing for the Jersey.
That's 3 injuries in 2 loans that will keep him out for a number of games.1 -
That is desperately disappointing for the lad.
Hope he gets a swift recovery, but there is going to be the ongoing worry this will blight his career.0 -
Worrying if he has a physical weakness there, as keepers will always be landing heavily on their shoulders0

Our players get injured even when they're not playing for us.
Cursed.1 -
Exactly as I expected.
People may laugh but I really hope his rehabilitation is with us, Gillingham simply do not have anything like the facilities we do.I hope AMB uses this time to think about the type of goalkeeper he wants to be and how he can still be making great saves without putting himself at risk of injury.
He really needed a full season without this but let’s hope he comes back stronger, has the support he’ll need to get through it, and proves what a top keeper he is.
Good luck AMB.5 -
So damn unlucky.
Best wishes Ashley.
Harness must be kept in house.2 -
Rules him out of making a last ditch attempt at being in the Australia team for the World Cup too1
