gonna get down to as many pre-season friendlies as I can this year, moving to Amsterdam in mid-August and need to be reminded that I'm not actually going to miss that much at the Valley when I'm sat watching Ajax!
You'll get more atmosphere at The Valley than the Amsterdam Arena!
Go Utrecht instead, it's not much further on the same train as to Ajax and free bus from station to ground, much much more fun than the slightly soulless Amsterdam arena!
Cheers mate I appreciate any advice. Been to see feyenoord once and loved it but apart from that I don't have a clue about Dutch football.
Feyenoord is about as good as it gets if you're looking for a 'lively' atmosphere in Dutch football. Complete world apart from Ajax.
St Truiden a very nice place to visit - and a really easy drive too - my sat nav ran out of map halfway through Belgium but it was one main road all the way until just before then turn off onto another - very tempted to have another weekend there. Thought the people there were very friendly, beer excellent. My only disapointment that lovely hot dog sausage at game came without a roll - chips were good though.
Hopefully a few of us going to this. Out Friday home Sunday.
Are these prices still available though. I remember having follow your team tickets for the Euros in Ukraine and as soon as England qualified for the knock out stages the ticket prices rocketed. Now The mighty CAFC have announced their tour prices will jump sky high...get in quick people.

You might be surprised.
I went to Valencia in 2006. I paid about £80 for a flight, not long after the flights were going for about £200!
Got flights from Manchester for £57 to Charleroi Sud. Making a bit of a holiday out of the trip, so staying in Leuven, a pretty university town with lots of history. This will enable me to get to Brussels and Antwerp and maybe even Brugge to do some sightseeing. Leuven to Sint Truden and Liege is about half an hour on the train. Used booking.com to get a budget hotel. Six nights with breakfast £171. Not bad.

AA, I went to Leuven last year, great place, especially main square on a sunny afternoon. Recomend the Fiery Margaret bar in centre, and also if you can take in a home match, the Reynard out on the ring road near stadium. Also try the Boon Marriage Parfait geuze. Enjoy!
Has anyone driven to St Truiden before? Looking at a map I reckon it's about 3 hours or so from Calais, which makes it £50/£60 each for 4 people in a car via channel tunnel...cheaper on a ferry...?
Possibly Chievo Verona as one of the home games? They are playing Bolton in a friendly on a pre season tour.
Meh... We've already played them at the Valley before.
Remember going to that game as after the Chievo team was announced I remember @BDL stating that he was glad we hadnt made Europe that season (took forever saying all their names)
As long as Saturday night is spent in the brewery.
Only reason to go. Henry jnr is up for it and he doesn't know about Belgium drinking laws yet
I am up for this again, a full night in the brewery would be great, happy to take my car as long as it parks up at the Hotel and stays there whilst we cab about town?

Any hint/rumours as to the two home games ?
So an unknown team on 14th July.
Would many be interested?
