It says that Roland's main target for manager is Belgian international man Marc Wilmots, says when Guy's contract is up that Wilmots will be a likely candidate, as he will also be out of contract
A source has informed us about the manager Roland Duchatelet really wants to take control at Charlton Athletic, plus his long term plans for the future which include proposed changes to the stadium should the club reach the Premier League.
Duchatelet this week appointed Israeli Guy Luzon on an 18 month contract to replace Bob Peeters who was sacked after two months without a win, however Luzon is expected to be another relatively short term prospect as Roland waits for the man he really wants at The Valley.
The Man Roland Really Wants
Belgium national manager Marc Wilmots is Roland’s number one target, however he is currently under contract to the Belgian FA. Wilmots and Duchatelet worked together whilst Wilmots was manager of St. Truiden, the relationship at the time was said to of soured but they have maintained a good friendship and Wilmots has regularly been seen at Standard Liege games.
Wilmots, played 136 games for Standard Liege between 1991-96 scoring 67 goals from midfield, at one time he was expected to become the new Liege manager under Roland but this never materialised. Should Charlton reach the Premier League and Wilmots appointed, fans will be excited at the prospect of an attacking style of play following the huge improvement of the Belgium National Team since Wilmots took over in 2012.
Several Premiership players are currently working under the 45 year old Belgium Head Coach including Hazard, Benteke, Fellaini, Mignolet, Dembele, Chadli and Januzaj.
After a good start to the season under Peeters, the Premiership is now a distant dream and staying in The Championship is the priority. As far as we are aware Guy Luzon was not at Vicarage Road yesterday to see Charlton’s devastating 5-0 defeat to Watford, if he was then he would have seen a completely dispirited Charlton team. After a turbulent week supporters outside the ground were in good spirits at the start with no sign of any unrest, however when the Addicks failed to convert an early chance the home side stormed into a 2-0 lead prompting fans to voice their discontent with chants of “We Want Roland Out” and “We Want Our Charlton Back”.
The situation didn’t get much better at half time as fans realised beer wasn’t being sold to our large away following of over 2,000 fans …many supporters left the ground and Watford went on to score two further goals and seal a convincing 5-0 win which quite frankly could have been by an even greater margin.
One Charlton supporter who we had been talking to in the Walkabout Bar earlier in the day spotted Chief Executive Katrien Meire on the train back to Euston and confronted her to find out exactly what is currently going on at the club.
Guy Luzon’s Work Permit
Our source inside The Valley has also claimed that there is no work permit issue and that the permit would have been a standard part of the recruitment process. It is suggested that Luzon did not take charge of the team yesterday because the players are refusing to play for him, they are said to be extremely displeased that a coach who understands The Championship wasn’t appointed.
Whoever is to blame for yesterdays performance, the club is currently in disarray and needs a strong man to come in and sort it out. Despite the nature of yesterdays defeat, supporters remained resilient throughout the second half and at times rose above the adversity of it all with ‘pretend’ goal celebrations and continued support of the club.
Proposed Stadium Plans
We understand that should Charlton make a return to The Premier League then there are proposals in place to make major changes to The Valley.
Plans include the redevelopment of The Jimmy Seed Stand with the whole of the south stand to be torn down and replaced with a stand incorporating a hotel, the club are then expected to sell package deals to away fans which include accommodation and match ticket. As part of that modernisation the South East Quadrant will also be filled in, my only question about that is what happens to the memorial garden that currently is located in that area.
Under new Premiership rules the changing rooms at The Valley are currently too small, these would have to be redeveloped within a certain time frame, two years I believe. The plan is to move the changing rooms from the West Stand to the East Stand and turn the existing changing rooms into hospitality. This would obviously then mean that the players will then emerge from a new tunnel on the east side of the ground.
The dugouts at The Valley are also going to be replaced. The plan is to incorporate the new dugouts into the West Stand in a similar way to the ones at Old Trafford. Also the seats in the West Stand are not the same as the rest of the ground, these will all be replaced should the club reach the Premier League as they are currently of a different style to the rest of the ground.
There are also plans at the end of the season to replace the tv in the south east corner of the ground, however this would be relocated should the development in that corner happen, possibly into the roof like at Stamford Bridge.
Maybe at some point we will also see safe standing introduced at The Valley, its a popular concept that is being used at many grounds throughout Europe, hopefully with a continental owner at Charlton this could become a possibility and a part of the new South Stand. It would also be nice to see away fans relocated to a part of the ground that drains their vocal support as they are currently housed in the oldest stand that has the best acoustics, seeing Charlton fans once again occupy both stands behind the goals.
Season Tickets
Season Ticket booklets are planned to be phased out at the end of this season, so make sure you hang onto yours as they are likely to be the final ones used at The Valley. The plan is to introduce new e card season tickets which will also lead to machines being added at the turnstiles, its not a difficult process and is likely to take place over the summer months.

Btw I think it all sounds like a load of bollocks. Apart from the phasing out of tickets for plastic swipe cards.

To be honest , there is alot of logic in it! Wilmots possibly worked eith RD at sttv and is friend's with him (we know he likes to appoint his friends) and would be a natural reolacement should we be premier lleague again. The whole hotel part is more than likely as he has done the exact same at STTVs new ground!
I actually like the STTV set up with the hotel, and think it would not be a bad idea at all, if the plan would also incorporate more general hospitality areas, which the Valley needs in order to bring in more revenue.
However I expect @Airman Brown can inform us on whether this idea is any more than a pipe dream from the point of view of planning permission
No offence to those of you who live there, but if someone was having a weekend in London for the football, why on earth would you stay in Charlton?!
Cheap hotel to be purchased with match ticket good for northern fans , id imagine traveling teams would stay there too aswell as better and more hospitality packages
Not quite sure about changing rooms and a tunnel in the east stand. It's build on top of the solid ground of the east terrace and the infamous sewer. Serious excavations required to create the accommodation needed space.

I would be surprised if they were not enlarged where they currently lie as there is more room to expant that side

Because hotels in London can be extortionate. Ticket and hotel bundle could work. It would only be a couple of minutes walk to Charlton station and then 15 minutes on the train to London Bridge. The Premier Inn in Lewisham charges £85 a night, Lewisham isn't exactly a tourist hotspot.

And with north greenwich and the peninsula being developed , it could be a reasonable development
I rather like the idea he's appointed Luzon because he can't get Wilmots, having appointed Peeters because Luzon was busy and Riga because Peeters was unavailable. I mean, that's just how to run a football club, isn't it? The long game.
The developer went bust trying to build a Holiday Inn next to the massive Woolwich development. I really can't see a hotelier making a living out of a place which is full one night a week in the winter months and completely empty 340 days a year!

Because Wilmots is fed up with having one of the best jobs in Europe and would much rather work with Tucudean, Buyens and Bulot than Lukaku, Hazard and Kompany. I'm sure Roland would break the bank to pay up the remaining three years on his contract as well. Dream on.
Milton Keynes combine a hotel with their corporate boxes, so you stay in a room that is essentially a box during the match. If you managed to get that block behind the JS you could develop a large area, but huge cost so seems a bit unlikely altho if MKDONS can do it why can't CAFC, lots going on in lower Charlton, or have they renamed it East East East Greenwich?
As for the changing rooms, would cost a lot of money to do what has been suggested, sounds a bit unlikely when you could put them assuming its true in the Southwest corner if needed.

PV had ideas about turning Valiant House into a hotel, partly because doing anything substantial at the Jimmy Seed end would probably require getting hold of the properties in Sam Bartram Close - in effect reversing the 1968 land sale.
Why does he hide under a rock when things are going ok but leap to the forefront in times of strife.
The last couple of weeks he's been all over the place
hide under a rock ? you've got issues mate ...spend a bit more time your improving your golf rather than dig me out. if you've got something to say then lets sort it out away from your keyboard
when everything is going well theres little to debate ,obviously ...plus I just developed the website a week ago so a platform for blogging.
i don't claim that everything is true, what i'm saying is that someone else (not me) has passed on this info from the club, whether you choose to believe it or not is upto you but as a charlton fan i would share anything that i thought to be of interest to other fans. my personal opinion is that a lot of it makes sense, but as i have said ...it depends on us reaching the premier league.

Roland wants Wilmots as manager one day.
Luzon not having a work permit is a front - players refusing to play for him.
Plans to upgrade They Valley if we go up.
