Had a great day out with my family as part of my recuperation on Dr's orders, hence I couldn't do the thread. Now having come in and seen the final score I'm glad I wasn't doing it!!! Tonight, like many others have commented, I feel sad that the team has become a shambles and a shadow of its early season self......I'm still angry that RD/KM made a shambles of replacing Peeters, I laughed liked a pissed up old fart when I read about the 'work permit' fiasco, but now its just so sad. Where has our club/team gone, I've read so far there was no fight and no passion......if that is the case expect relegation....but RD still has a chance.....the opportunity to cancel GL's contract (work permit issues), bring in an experienced championship manager and bring in new players. Please please please RD wake up and smell the coffee we are in BIG trouble, don't send us back to League 1, you'll lose most of your investment besides anything else!!
I fear your plea will fall in deaf ears Red.
Roly is a multi millionaire, megalomaniac, arrogant Belgium prick who doesn't give a stuff about the wonderful people who support Charlton.
Thanks for sorting out the pitch Roly, now piss off back where you came from and take your bit of fluff in the boardroom with you.
Just seen the goals and that was painful enough. Feel sorry for the 2000 that travelled but you should know better by now. I remember making a statement a good few seasons ago on here along the lines of 'when will this club stop kicking us , the fans, in the nuts?' Well some serious time has passed and they're still doing it. I know it comes with the territory but it's really starting to hurt now. The allegiance I once felt to this club is waning more than I've ever known. The identity of it has been flushed down the toilet. I don't tend to get involved in football conversations anymore because , in all honesty,I really don't care about it anymore.
I'd like to thank Tony Jimenez, Michael slater , Roland Duchatalet and to some degree Richard Murray for taking an interest I lived and breathed to one I'm not very interested in at all anymore.
I hope you're happy. Then again, I know you really don't care!
We can't. Trying to heal this situation needs some kind of lateral thinking. There will always be some support attending, and the man is rich enough to take any hit with the impending drop off of fans. Mr Duchatelet is in charge, he can do what he wants as we were reminded in the Katrien Evening Standard interview. We can put up, or shut, or be visible in some way and protest, be angry or sarcastic, but we don't have the money, Mr Duchatelet has it, so our pain will mean jack to him. If we can't compete with his money we must try to control the narrative if we can, but we're so splintered I don't know how that will happen. Our only realistic hope is if somebody on the side of the club not only listens, but responds in a credible way. Oddly enough our only other hope is the Home Office reminding the powerful that there are some things all the money in the world can't buy. The closest to a face saving compromise where all forces might feel like they have made progress and saved that face, is if somehow Jose Riga gets the job instead of Guy Luzon.
On top of the obvious management issues, it wouldn't surprise me if there have been big fallouts between players... blame, old vs new, poisonous personalities. I'm sure we'll never know the full story.
Resisted naming names before but there is a problem between the new and old guard. Bikey and TBH are huge characters and once they spotted the weakness in Peeters' man management they became very vocal and influential. Jackson has no relationship with them at all. Therefore the likes of Wilson, Solly and Wiggins don't either. You may recognise the time in the season when we started conceding a lot coincides with when this started to take hold.
Morrison couldn't leave quickly enough as he knew he would never get a game ahead of the two and the confidence and performance issues of Pope, Fox and to some extent Wilson do not lie with themselves or Peeters alone.
The likes of Cousins, Vetokele, Harriot and some of the younger players are caught between the two stools.
Poison has a habit of seeping through any cracks that have been created from the top down.
This rings true for me. It will need a very strong manager to deal with the situation. Bikey and TBH were all over the place today according to the commentary, but they are undroppable it seems. Bikey has been pretty undisciplined recently, out of position a lot, seemingly taking a jaunt wherever he likes whenever he likes.
Christ......I might be a complete idiot, but I honestly thought we'd see a positive reaction from the players today. The stories coming out of the club were aligning and it seemed they had got their way and the problem had been removed. How wrong can someone be.
I've seen some chuff over the years but this sounds horrific.
My worry is how we have fallen apart so drastically in such a relatively short period of time. Earlier in the season there were 11 blokes on the pitch giving it everything and some properly heroic defensive performances.
I remember sitting on the train on the way back from Reading and thinking 2-3 decent additions and we will make a charge for the play-offs. As recently as Forest away, we saw a real work ethic and real battling performance to get a point.
Whatever has gone on in the background, the players have to shoulder a decent percentage of the blame. They are paid handsomely and to effectively fart in the faces of fans by "giving up" is unacceptable.
Losing Henderson has been a massive blow and we have been a defensive shambles since he has been out. I can't really have too much of a go at Etheridge, its not his fault he isn't good enough for this level.
I've tried to stay behind RD as I like the idea of someone coming in with a different approach, I really believed/wanted it to work. The coaching model has been used on the continent for years so why couldn't it work here?.
Well, things are going spectacularly wrong at the moment. I've defended the club over the last few weeks and am trying to stay positive, but RD has got to compromise a little. If he is watching games he must realize that we have a soft centre and need 3-4 additions to get us moving i the right direction.
He has shown at Liege that he will bring players in from outside the network and I'm hoping he'll compromise and do the same for us. If he doesn't then this threatens to turn into a tailspin that we won't be able to address.
I've said Luzon wasn't my choice and I am 100% that he isn't what we need at the moment - I felt the same about Riga - I hope Guy comes in and proves us all wrong. Just can't see it.

Very interesting post. That really could explain a lot.
It's not the manager that had lost the dressing room it's the way the club is being run that has lost the players. Don't want to fight for the club. No heart whatsoever !
That was absolute gash. No other words for it . If it hadn't of been for Etheridge it would of been 9.4+ players needed or it's hello fleetwood come next season. Never felt so ashamed of a performance after that
That day proves that we are significantly underperforming at the moment
Disagree. Our form at the beginning of the season was the anomaly, our performances now are the norm. We're not underperforming, this is how good we are - ie. utterly terrible.
Wolves will take us apart and the question is whether Luzon, Jackson, Henderson and new signings come to the rescue for the Rotherham game.
What's frustrating is that loan cover for keeper and bringing in a number 9 would have avoided all this.
Luzon had better be everything Duchatelet thinks he is or the wheels fall off for sure.
Ideally The new incoming manager would have a week to work with the squad and get it right. The players would also need to get to know what the New Manager wants from them
This division is not only really tough but also unforgiving and the ideal choice of an incoming Manager would have League experience at this level and know how teams set themselves up and how difficult some are to beat.
We could easily sleep walk into a Releagtion battle, Our Survival could depend on Home form.
The players managed to go on an unbeaten run at the start of the season, what has since changed?
These players are good enough but not giving it 100%
What a disgraceful performance. No guts or desire. Too many players wanting to play their way out of Guy luzon's next team. Problem is we have nobody to replace them. Who's going to want to come in and play for a team in free fall. I know !!! Players from the network. !!!! Spend some cash Roly before the fans really turn. We are in a mess and it's going to get worse.
The hour queue to get out of the car park didn't help either. I'm totally dejected and not sure if I can be bothered anymore. The players still collect their wages for that pile of shite.
Please reverse your decision Roly and get someone in who knows what this division is all about. And one more thing Roly stop playing football manager with our club.
1. Our support was superb and a credit to our club. The only CAFC credit today. 2. I'm using Southern Trains and have been on time both ways. This is more miraculous than the prospect of us scoring. 3. It cost £13 to get in. Though the facilities in the away end made that look overpriced.
In my almost 30 years of going to games that is the single most abject performance l can recall witnessing. Up there with the Wycombe QF and losing to 3rd Div Walsall in the FA Cup when we were top division.
Everything we tried today, even the most basic of trying to trap a ball or see it out of play, we could not do. It was a training match for Watford, who needed to do only the barest minimum. More ridiculous set-piece goals that we just can't defend. Too much to say and don't want to hijack the thread or kill this phone battery.
My conscience is clear now if l choose not to waste money on a spineless shower of sh1te. It was different when the club needed my cash. It was almost my duty to go, despite our being garbage. This owner, however, does not need my money. Nor do l need to 'accept' anything. Not if what l saw today is the price. And right now l don't want to hear any rubbish about long-term projects. I want some honesty as to how this is going to be fixed, the mistakes made and maybe even acknowledgement that the model - whatever it is - doesn't work if the players aren't good enough, and that takes money, or time, to fix. And the way we're going, we ain't got time. And so enough.
Finally, proud to stand with our fans today. Never stopped singing, and didn't lose our sense of humour, despite having our club utterly embarrass us.
Stop all the Morrison love in, he's gone and wasn't that good , we still would of lost heavily today if he'd of played . So reverting back to him leaving ain't the reason we are in this mess
Where the hell does Luzon go from here. If, as those there seem to indicate, the players don't want to play for this dire set-up, how the hell can a new man that even the fans seem at best apathetic about, be expected to turn it round?
Have wondered what would happen if ben Haim had a bad game and today we found out. Good 2 minutes and woeful for 88. Can't understand how wilson gets a start ahead of Gomez after last weeks performance. Think the protests are embarrassing though, very sad to hear our fans chanting we are going down as we left the ground.

After a shocking week, the 2000 travelled to delightful Watford, paid to get in, and then had to watch players who earn more than them play like **** under a manager nobody wants. They have a right to chant. And what's even sadder, they are probably right

At least my Watford supporting mate saw a decent performance from his team.
Every cloud and all that.
Three worse teams I hope!

Lets see what lozen has to offer on his 1st game
With the right players…
Michael Morrison being one.
