It is so good to see that England have reverted to their usual heap of junk. We will be good enough one day but it is a while of yet

When you start with a midfield of Barclay, Rice and Delph you can't expect much else.

John Stones should never play for us again. He is utter, utter dogshit.

Can’t believe we’re losing this game 3-1, Holland look shocking going forward.

Southgate once again deceiving in big games.

Still getting us further than any other Manager in over 20 years though...
Let’s be really honest, we didn’t play anyone good until Croatia, we lost

We have had a good 45 against Spain, that’s it.

Its all well and good saying Gareth can get us to a semi, but we won’t win anything with this man in charge.
Why should we expect to win anything?

Doesnt sit right with me that we do well to get to 2x back to back Semi Finals and because we don’t go and win the tournaments Southgate just gets criticism thrown his way. We limped our way into 2nd round/quarter finals at the absolute best before he came along.

TAA walks into most international sides in the world - let’s play Walker.

You know we will line up with Delph against Switzerland. It’s all so safe, we are celebrating mediocrity

Some England fans will never be pleased though. Tonight has not been good, that’s clear for all to see - but the bigger picture certainly is much brighter for us than it was a few years ago. We shouldn’t lose sight of that.
Exactly... weve been shite since 2006 - to even think about sacking Southgate would be ludicrous

I'm fucked off after that ET performance but one thing I'll take is the fact that we've never put in a defensive fuck up type performance under Gareth before and fully expect him to rectify it

Ultimately UEFA need to take a look at these Finals and have them slightly later in the month... its a great format and will be great when it comes back round but to have the Finals SO close to the Champions League Final is almost their way of saying that they dont rate it as a tournament

A good night for Joe Gomez though?

This England side has some of the most talented players we’ve seen in a white shirt.

If we can’t win now when can we.

The problem is the England players barring 2 or 3 just aren't that good.

They're usually the worst players in their own club teams if they play for a top club. (Kane and Sterling being the exceptions, and maybe Sancho)

We didn’t play well at all, but can’t help thinking that taking Sancho off was a massive mistake. Delph and Rice in the same midfield is also asking for trouble.

We could have Guardiola as manager and we wouldn't win anything. It's what England players do. They fail in the more important games. Always have done. Even with the desperately embarrassingly named Golden Generation.

Next Summer, why not? We know these players are capable of winning something. Would love to hear who you think would come in and immediately do a much better job than Southgate has....

    Where is anyone celebrating?

No doubt we're all fucked off over tonight but to suggest getting rid of Southgate is nothing sort of a knee jerk reaction

Because we won anything with a big name like Eriksson or Capello?

Those two ruined the England team because they focused solely on the big names and didnt take a look at the youngsters coming through - Gareth is doing the opposite and probably would have named a different team for these finals (he this as much) had the U21 Championships not been the same summer

When some of these youngsters are a little bit more experienced?

And you say it like English football hasn't finally achieved the revolution in youth coaching that Germany and Spain managed ten to fifteen years earlier. There are going to be a lot more talented players coming through in the future.

Patience. Or if you prefer, impatience, sack the lot of them, get an expensive foreign coach in and lose that way instead :)

southgate got the tactics all wrong.

decided we should play out from the back when our defenders aren’t good enough to do that. our only player who can play out from the back is gomez and southgate decides to keep him on the bench. also we shouldn’t be having ‘play out from the back’ as our tactic if we don’t have a ball playing centre midfielder who can take the ball from defence and take it into attack.

and then our best player on the night (sancho) gets taken off for lingard who ultimately wasn’t good enough today.

VAR done us over but imo southgate has to take responsibility. poor

Next summer you'd expect to see TAA and Gomez starting. Dele Alli seems to have lost his mojo and Barkley needs to be replaced.
