be interesting to read any comments on Fox, plus & minus.
  • Wasn't overly optimistic about this one, but that is a fantastic result. Sounds like we worked out a good game plan and the players executed it perfectly. Great effort all round, including the fans.
In a very even division we're capable of mounting a genuine play-off challenge, particularly if we can make a couple of additions to the squad in January.
  • Just got back. Very professional performance all round. We defend so well as a team and in Igor we have a top class striker. Thoroughly enjoyed being part of the fantastic support and " Bob Peters, he's got no hair but we don't care" will be in my head all night!
  • ....... and " Bob Peters, he's got no hair but we don't care" will be in my head all night!

We used to sing, "Stevie Gritt, he's got no hair but we don't care", at the beginning of the 90s.

    Nothing new under the sun.

    ;o)

  • Can't beli

Ha, brilliant from a reading fan.

i know!! Can't believe he has 4 unread messages!
  • Classic away win - soaked up early pressure, scored with our first chance then let them have plenty of possession but stayed well organised with two banks of four - as a result they didn't really create a single real chance.

Henderson, Bikey and Ben Haim immense - thought Cousins put in a really solid shift in midfield whilst Harriott never hid even though most things he tried didn't come off. When Vetokele and Gudmonsson are fully fit, they could be the difference between a play off push and midtable.

Bob Bob Peeters, Bob Bob Peeters.....
  • Just back, great win, great singing from the fans all through the game. Fantastic goal from Igor, brilliant save from Henderson but overall very comfortable.

Best away day for a long time cracking atmosphere.
  • Just on the train home.

One of our best performances (that I have seen) of the season.

The back four were all excellent, Fox was up against a good player in Mackie, but didn't give him too many chances.

Despite their possession, they didn't have many clear opportunities. Norwood hitting the post was as close as it got. Henderson dealt with crosses well and Bikey/Ben Haim headed almost everything out of our box.

George missed a glorious chance at the end to kill the game off.

Coq had a good cameo, very tidy player, only mis-placed one pass when he came on.

Harriott did well today, played an important part in our goal, by originally holding up the ball and bringing others into play.

Spoke to Katrien Meire after the game (on a shuttle bus of all places!),praised our support today and predicts a bright future etc etc. She wasn't too pleased to see Poyet join Huddersfield though - haha!

Overall, wonderful day, great performance and three valuable points.
  • Oooooh bob peeeeters

  • On coach home. For all their huffing and puffing I thought we looked fairly comfortable in defence. Fox grew into the game and a decent performance. I despair of Harriott. No control of ball, misplaced passes, poor awareness awful first touch. Everyone else put in good performances. Even Golfie is happy !!

It's good he knows what THAT game means to us.

If BBB can't get them up for THAT game nobody can.

Bob Peeters, what an inspired appointment!

Yh, we all know it won't make a difference to the result though...
I just have a feeling it will be different this time around, Talal

    keep the faith!

  • How did George not put that one in the 2nd half away?
  • Great atmosphere from our fans.

Talk about Big Bob having no hair, I nearly lost all mine when the ref called 6 mins injury time!

Because he's not very good at football.

Unforgivable miss. Questionable as to whether we have a professional footballer there. Should have hit it first time, same with the rebound.

  • A classic away performance, Reading had lots of possession and crosses but created very little

Watched on stream and I thought he had a good game especially as he was marking Mackie and I think he will get better after a few more games, leave him there until Wiggins is ready
  • They don't seem very happy with Adkins do they.
  • Wasn't there but delighted with the result and doubly pleased that all the reports suggest that this wasn't our usual smash and grab but a good controlled performance.

Such a tight league. You expect to shoot up the table after a win like this but we only sneaked a single place. Above Norwich and forest though and I would have taken that at the start of the season.
  • Lots of praise for Solly there, and my Reading mate said that's the quietest he's seen anyone keep Obita this season.

Anyone able to find a link to vetokeles goal?
  • Terrific support from us today in the second half. Not the loudest but genuinely about 10 minutes of constant chanting at one point. That's longer than you think... we did our job today.

Team also fantastic, didn't get pulled out of shape once. People will look at the stats and make a judgement from that but we were comfortable for the whole of the game.

It's frustrating coz I thought he took his goals against derby and Bolton exceptionally well. Had to do a lot of work still to get the goals. Set up a decent second against Bolton, and won a great penalty against Derby. But does look ineffective at the nuts and bolts part of the game, ie holding up.

In the long run, probably not going to help us push on, but shows glimpses.
