Agree with the overall comments but two questions from me. How did Jacko escape yellow cards and is he becoming a bit naughty? ? Karlan look utterly crestfallen at half time. Does anyone else feel that putting the youngster through the mill like this might not be a good idea? He took a really hefty knock as well and no-one seemed bothered.
Predictable point as reality sets in that we are a mid table at best side , with this paper thin squad BBB is shuffling us around to get a result of any sorts And thank goodness for the back 5 and Igor the great
Good to hear Solly and Wiggins (who gets a much rougher ride than our Chris) turn it around second half and we have definitely missed Rhoys' attacking play in recent times
Heard there were 2,500 ish Wednesday there that's massive , hopefully we'll muster 10% of that for dirty we all hate Leeds scum
0% top two ......... 0.5% 3rd-6th .........39.5% 7th-12th ......60% 13th-21st...... 0% Relegation
I like Bikey....he's a good lad....but he trod a fine line today. If he had conceded a penalty and/or been red carded, he couldn't have complained too much.
Vetokele seems to have a touch of the BWPs when faced with a one on one. It's been his weak point so far. Otherwise, he's great and he was the only one moving when the Wiggins cross/shot came in.
The big lump up front for Weds tried his nuts off and did a good job for them but Ben Haim just about got the better of him. He's the best centre half we've had since Mark Fish.
Neither side did enough to win and neither side deserved to lose.
was going to say that, was impressed by there lump, most of his type of player generally wait in the middle for the lump up or crosses into the box, off the ball he was looking for it in behind, moving our defenders about as well as working hard to close them down.
I think most of our problems in the first were because we failed to pass it early to KAG, who was playing on the shoulder of the last man. Moussa kept turning and twisting on the edge of the box when he had space to shoot and Tucudean had little in the way of support or service, and unfortunately needs 3 or 4 shots to score. People are way too quick to forget that just over a week ago gorgeous George scored 1 assisted 1 in our win, and in just one half scored 1 and won a penalty against a team that should be top 6 all season.
I thought the subbing of Jackson killed our momentum and Wilson had no clue where he was meant to be playing in the end.
I think if Peeters was proactive and adjusted our formation after the first 10 minutes to a flat 4 midfield then we win the game, but I can't fault him really he had a plan and tried to stick to it
Great second half, although even with three up front we still looked like we only had one that would score. How many corners dod we have? Overall I think it was a fair result. Did we get lucky at the end though? From where I was sitting it looked like they had a good shout for a pen.
It looked a good shout to me too. A case of "we've seen them given."
Think it was 11 corners. Sadly we didn't threaten from many of them and I thought Wednesday defended their box as well as we did. Two evenly matched teams who look a grade up on last season.
IMHO: Judging by the player marks, some folk need to look at the Weds goal again. This was extremely poor goalkeeping by Henderson. Drenthe was dribbling across the D shaping to shoot from 18 yards and Henderson was well sighted but badly positioned.
We shouldn't be conceding from 18 yard shots along the ground, through a clear penalty box into the corner of the net.

Don't agree. Drenthe absolutely smashed it low and hard, plus Hendo had players in his line of sight.

If you throw a kid in the deep end, there are two options.
1. You splash around and just about stay afloat.
2. You drown.
I could tell he had talent at Bournemouth on his debut (5 mins at Norwich) where he should never have played more than 45 mins but because of the paucity of strikers at the club (3 out on loan) he had to play the whole game.
Again 2nd half against Fulham, good 45 mins.
If we are not careful we will hinder his progress,
The crowd must be supportive of KAG and Gomez when they play because they will have poor games while they are learning their craft.
My thoughts on yesterday seem to be different to others. I thought the first half was truly abysmal, possibly worse than most of what I saw last season. I also thought TBH gave the ball away quite a bit and put us in trouble, so surprised to see how many made him their MOM. Thought Karlan looked what he is, a boy being asked to do a man's job, and out of his depth. This is not to belittle him, for a kid of 17, he did the best he could, just felt its too much, too soon for him. Thought Wiggins had his best game for a while. Our paper thin squad looks very sparse in options and though we improved in second half, I think a draw was a fair result. Just hope we have our full team available for Millwall, or that could prove very embarrassing.
first 20 mins we played well. They scored and grew in confidence. Bob changed it at half time and we had a very good 35 mins. Could have won it. The disallowed goal looked well offside to me but a mate in the eaststand said it was close. We all know that the squad is to light but that dosnt mean they will bring anyone in---have to hope that the key players dont get injured
Bradley Allen was on talkSPORT this a. m. talking 'all things QPR & Charlton' (sic) .. in the 30 seconds devoted to us he opined that our squad was decent, hard working, well organised, a good spine in Jackson Buyens Vetokele Ben Haim and that Peeters is a good manager .. thanks Brad
Today's game made me think that we are at a bit of a crossroads, and we need a surge or a development of some kind, Bob is exhausting his resources, and I think a bit of lateral thinking at all levels in the club might come in handy at the moment.
Well Seth...I think we need linear thinking. We are lacking a target man (like Yan) who can head or hold up the ball. Go get one RD.
I'm convinced that if we had a play similar to Nuhu (sp) then we would have a good few more points on the board. He played against a very good centre back pair and caused problems all afternoon. He brought their midfield into play and was very mobile.
I hope we have a similar player on our January shopping list.
First half we looked like a side who had no idea what type of team they were. No cohesion or real pattern to play. Wednesday looked stronger, quicker and more up for it.
Second half with Gudmundsson and Vetokele we looked far more dynamic and dangerous, albeit up against a retreating side in Wednesday.
Warning signs were there from Drenthe from the beginning. No idea why nobody "stuck one on him" in the first 10 minutes, or why we kept allowing him to turn and get up a head of steam. Second half Cousins got into him on his first touch before he could turn and pushed him out of the game. Got the impression that Drenthe thought his job was done when he scored though - guess that's part of the reason why he slipped from Madrid to Wednesday.
Ben Haim was terrific in the second half, but was allowed to be by Wednesday dropping off towards the edge of their own box. It shows the importance of a cb that is comfortable on the ball as it really adds extra attacking impetus against a compact defence. Similarly the importance of our fullbacks pushing on became clear with Wiggins' brilliant assist.
Shame Igor didn't stick his second chance away, but I thought Wednesday recovered from the equaliser quite well and a draw was a fair result. Especially as D'urso could easily have given the penalty against Bikey.

as opposed to last January when we put one on our selling list !
With Igor and Gudmundsson playing, we can beat anyone in the league. Without them, we are lower/mid-table at the best. Defence is outstanding, people around me were complaining about Morrison's departure but though I bow to no man in my appreciation of his talents there is just no way I can see him handling that giant number 9 as calmly and efficiently as Ben Haim did, much less carry the ball out of defence with threat and purpose.
It's a case of strong team, weak squad for me, I can't imagine Bob won't be drawing up a list for January already... what RD provides will be a good indication of his plans for the future.
Thought Jacko had one of his better games this season, luckily, not making contact with their player with his 2 footed lunge. KAG came out lively and looking for his first goal, but needs more experience. Would really like to see another striker come in on loan, so we could send him out on loan to get some regular first team experience.
Was saying after the game, their big man up front, although never really looked like scoring, caused lots of problems for our defence and he's the type of player that would be a perfect foil for Igor.
After equalising, there was only likely to be one winner, but a draw was probably a fair result over the 90 mins.........

This! Our back five is solid. Everybody knows this. Four more games in November and five in December to stay in touch with sixth place. 100% sure they will be targetting the acquisition of a new quality #9 plus one other. If Vetokele and Gudmundsson come through unscathed this week and we can grab a win, then we are on track.
Draw was a fair result. Igor clearly wasn't fully fit but still made a difference. Can't see Igor playing too much in the next two games wonder if he'll still go away with Angola.
Bikey was fortunate to get away with a clear foul for a penalty. Wednesday I thought looked decent, walked away thinking there is very little between the sides in this league as can be seen by the league table

Hmmm, our back five were not so solid at Bournemouth and Fulham. We all have our off days though.
A poor first half, in which we offered very little offensively, although Jordan should probably have put away that header from Jacko's corner. The new shape didn't work, the front three were largely ineffective and we looked shaky at the back, with even TBH giving the ball away carelessly on a number of occasions. Drenthe gave us the runaround in the first half and I was relieved to get in at half time without any further damage.
A different story in the second half once our two best offensive players entered the fray and we fully deserved to get back on terms. Ultimately, we didn't have enough to go on and win it and Wednesday rallied reasonably well in the last ten minutes. Overall, a decent, entertaining game and a fair result.
Good to see Yoni Buyens back on form and let's hope we can get-and keep-Igor and Jóhann fit. We remain in need of at least one reinforcement up top and I don't want to see Karlan Ahearne-Grant's very considerable promise being undermined by being overused at this fledgling stage of his career. I think that the development of Robert Lee and Mark Stuart wasn't helped in the early days by Lennie Lawrence having no option but to play them on a regular basis.
Agreed first 20 vs Fulham not good...then again first 20 vs Derby might be the best we've played in seven seasons?
And Bournemouth giving us a total runaround.
I admire your optimism but feel that if we got relegated you would still find some positives from that.
Every game (except one) decided by the odd goal. Bournemouth are on fire. They and a few other clubs (Derby, Forest etc) have been building towards this season for a while now.
We all know that with a fit Gudmundsson and Vetokele we can beat anyone - I hope we have that for most of the season...I expect the reason they are used sparingly is that we have two important games coming up.
My "optimism" about the bigger picture is based on the pace of change to date...20 players out, ten in and most (not all) are pretty decent.
Unlike the previous owners that proves M.Duchatelet has the money and ability to acquire decent young players. So the next two windows should go well for us because unlike the last two owners there is capital investment available to turn us into real contenders.
Staprix have spent c.£20-25m acquiring cafc and getting us this far. I would suggest it is extremely pessimistic to worry about things stopping now!
Fair result in the end, couldn't believe that Wiggins let the scorer inside when he scored. Igor looked good when he came on, Ben Haim motm, ref didn't bring his cards with him, not sure how JJ didn't get booked for a tackle that had he got the bloke he was off.
Think that's a bit harsh on Wiggins as he had Mcguire outside him, was Bikey's fault for jumping in and not even taking the man out.
Bikey made his challenge on the half way line, Wiggin shouldn't have let him inside, Drenthe would have probably passed to McGuire, had he be shown the outside.
It's not unusual for a defender to show a winger inside. See extract from Ashley Cole:
The trickster
“Get out tight to him, and get on his first touch as quickly as you can. Show him inside to your centre-back or midfielder. When he puts his head down to take another touch or cross the ball, he doesn’t know where you are – that’s when you put your foot in and make the tackle. And when you make the first tackle, make sure it’s a strong one so he knows he can’t keep doing all the tricks all the time.”
So if your midfield and CB's are doing their job the winger should run into traffic, unlike if you get beaten on the outside. It depends how they are coached really.

Like I said, I admire your optimism......................
We have just 2 clean sheets all season and in my mind neither are good enough defensively. Morrison although not great on the ball certainly knew how to defend
We have 12 points more than we did at the same stage last season. How does that equate to our defense not being good enough?
I think this might have something to do with the fact we have some-one who can score goals. A midfielder who looks for the ball more. I can see I'm in a minority here but doesn't change my opinion.
