Better team and better squad. I look at it and feel more quality more experience and better cover in depth still.
Goalkeepers/Defence/Midfield/Forwards better then what we have now, only area that needed massive improvement then and still now is out wide and that was something that seperate us from others in this division.
Notice people bring up the Sheffield United game as a way to beat the stick at our former side/manager as some weirdly like to do.
On that day the team didn't perform - no doubts about that. But they still cared and it still hurt them to know they had blown it. That can't be denied IMO.
Thats a big, big difference from the team on Saturday who not only didn't perform, but seemingly just didn't care.
The person said that the team always gave 100% for Powell, where were we when Powell got sacked? Bottom of the table.
By the time Powell had got sacked the network players had been dumped in the squad, not Powell players. Powells players were beginning to be marginalised (orders to play Yohan FFS) and the likes of Stephens and Yann were being sold.
Hamer, Dervite, Poyet, Stephens, Yann. Fair play for escaping the mad house when you did.
In a weird way, I hope Wiggins, jacko, cousins etc can follow morro and find themselves a proper club where they can go into work and enjoy it under a serious owner & manager & playing with players of a similar quality.
Is this team better than the team that finished 9th?
