Negative objective assessment = sour grapes? Same assessment from his own fans you will find. Can't hold up a ball, isn't physical, crap free kick, can't operate as a lone striker.
He may turn out good, but until then why:
Shouldn't we be happy that Uwe Rosler may have been wrong to outbid us for a player? Shouldn't we be happy that it seems we will only pay what we think a player is worth? Shouldn't we be happy that Wigan may not benefit from beating us to sign a player?

Grant Holt is a good call, but as he is at Wigan and Rosler hates Big Bob it may be a tough call. Sometimes older yet experienced players can add something in the right place at the right time, players like Kevin Phillips, Craig Bellamy, Andy Johnson. It happens at levels throughout the leagues with the likes of Akinfenwa and Parkin and so on. The key question is about a foil for Igor, and the key player has to be better than Joe Piggott and George. If we are running a tight ship then it is mix and match...as the squad stands Church is more of a replacement for Igor than a foil for him. If our squad is the hand Bob has dealt to him, he has to make the most of it, as he has been doing very well indeed so far.
Lovely comments from der Wigan Fuhrer today and remarks from the BBC...
Rosler: You witnessed yesterday Premier League games and seeing what sort of yellow cards they are giving and you see what is not given today, said Rosler. You are sometimes watching two different sports and that should not be the case.
BBC: Mick McCarthy's Ipswich received two yellow cards during the match - given to Tyrone Mings and Christophe Berra - while the Latics received none, despite making five more fouls.
Sounds like Wigan had the favour of the Referee yet still Rosler isnt happy with that... Seriously needs to shut up moaning else we'll get Big Bob to pay him a visit!!
Wenger once said that when he brings in a player from abroad, he does not expect that player to be at his best for about 6 months, sometimes a player settles quicker but rarely. Remember, he moves to a new country, different type of game, different life style and for a while living in a hotel, on their own. If they have a partner, they have to settle as well, (ie Jose Riga), if not that will unsettle the player or coach. We are lucky with Igor who has settled quickly, but I think others like Tucudean might need more time, unfortunately, supporters don't have a lot of patience, and wants everything now. I don't care whether Delort ever settles and proves himself, he is not our player, I just want our players to eventually prove themselves and hope the supporters will give them time and support.
I'm guessing he's not bagged a hat trick then , good job we didn't have a 100 page thread on the fella, would have been a complete waste of time :-0
Give it time.
He seems to be like an EX that we are still obsessed with, even when they have a new partner.
More like a bird you pick up at a bar, chat to her all evening, filling her with all the alcohol she wants...........only for her boyfriend to turn up at the end of the evening to take her home.
Come on you lot, you know we wish we had him. Once he is settled he will be a good player.
Didn't take Igor that long to settle. A 4m player should be able to control a ball IMO.
You do remember Francis Jeffers, don't you? He was around £4 m wasn't he? Something like that anyway.
Might be wrong, but I'm sure we paid around £2.5m for Jeffers.
That's the figure I recall too, and I also remember hearing that we actually only paid a fraction of that (the first instalment) due to his non-performance. But that may not be reliable. It definitely wasn't £4m.

£2m was the price circulated at the time of signing him. It later transpired that the bulk of the transfer fee was structured so that £2m was the most he would cost based on appearances, etc. We paid around £600k in the end.

By the end of the season we will know whether to laugh or cry, depending how he gets on, but whatever, he is not our player, I just hope Tucudean is better
Pie eaters at work say can't hold ball up, knocked off ball by pretty much everyone and looks daft. Shoots from ridiculous distance with little likelihood of hitting the target but tries hard and not hiding yet. Play Church at sixty minutes and get him to play the hold up man for Igor and stop all this nonsense about loans etc etc. Church can finish i.e Blackburn and Hudds (cup) but would be better still supporting Igor and chipping in with the odd goal to steal the 2-1 away victory.
So Delort should be given time to settle and it wont be 6 months till he's at full quality but Tucadean should be replaced by two bob Church now. Right, ok.

i've been reading the recent comments as the opposite , Tucudean needs to settle and will be better in 6 months and we had a right touch not getting Delort cos he's two bob!

Yes, I'm happy that Roland stood firm and didn't pay over the odds for an unproven player and we may well have dodged a bullet but people using their time to watch him in the hope that he has a miserable career because their club wouldn't meet his club's transfer demands just comes across as a little pathetic, like a scorned ex. Don't get it because he would have signed for us weeks ago after agreeing terms had we had agreed a fee with Tours.

I may have missed it but I don't recall anyone on this thread saying that Tududean has been given enough time. I'm doubtful that he has what it takes to be a success in the Championship, but he needs time and I will say exactly the same for Delort. He may well be rubbish but surely the jury should be out for at least another couple of months

Some supporters just live to be miserable.

Hell has no fury like a football fan scorned !
Igor and George had both scored by now.
Not having a dig, but think it is too early to say we had a lucky escape, I hope we have though!

If the shot was missing, you wouldn't have to "dodge" it.
So, the indication is the opposite!
