An amazing start to the days at The Oval as he warms up the wicket keepers. Ben Foakes is a top keeper because of him.killerandflash said:A brilliant servant to Surrey, as a player and as a coach. Lets hope his successor is far worse

This thread does still exist then.2

Goodness knows how Gus Atkinson has been selected for England. First ball last night flew over the keeper and went for 5 wides. His 3 overs went for 48 runs without taking a wicket.1

Yesterday in the Vitality Blast, the Surrey/Gloucestershire game was called a tie, both sides scored 170 .. however, Glos lost fewer wickets .. could be time for a rethink about how results are assessed ?0

Top of two tables. Surprised we've let the tumbleweed blow through this happy thread. 😊2

I was at Lord's on Thursday, but couldn't bring myself to comment on this thread on a Surrey win. Amused that Sibley was playing, though was at the bar when he was batting so missed his array of scoops and reverse hits...1

This is probably THE best bit of memorabilia I have, above all my Charlton player's tops and what was my programme collection.
The mighty Surrey won the John Player League in '94 down in Cardiff against Glamorgan.
After the game I managed to get this top, that season Hollioake was the leading wicket taker. We had a phenomenal team during this era.3 -
I still have the Ben Hollioake framed shirt you gave me several years ago.ElfsborgAddick said:

Mrs Blackpool still won't let me hang it in the front room though.1 -
A shame, it would look very nice in your living room.blackpool72 said:

I made sure when we bought the gaff out here that one bedroom would be for all my stuff, I might get a top framed and hung.
Have got a few scorecards signed and framed that will definitely be hung up.0 -

Anyone heading to Edgbaston next Saturday? I've got a ticket so will watch most of the Surrey semi then get a cab to Shrewsbury about 1.30pm. If Surrey make the final I'll head back to Birmingham to see us pick up the first of two pieces of September silverware. Happy days.5

Back to the usual in the defeat.9goalswentpastperry said:

Congrats Surrey. Three in a row. Somerset's season imploding in the space of a week.
I'm sure our Kent brethren will pop along to offer their congratulations to us. 😀3 -

What a brilliant season we have had, not helped by England resting players and saddened by the death of Graham Thorpe.
Our play against Durham epitomized our season some from our squad stepping up and taking the game by the scruff of the neck, in this match it was Patel who made 137 when Surrey were 5 down.1 -
21 years since Surrey won the Blast. I'm not sure I could live with that sort of losing record

Easy when you understand that England call ups meant they had to play the second team.killerandflash said:21 years since Surrey won the Blast. I'm not sure I could live with that sort of losing record

Anyone Oval bound today? After Friday night's heroic comeback from the brink I'm looking forward to what we do this afternoon. Would be nice to go on and win the group.1

Was planning on going but as the Test match against India is such a good game I shall stay at home and watch that instead.9goalswentpastperry said:Anyone Oval bound today? Hopefully you will see a Surrey win later.0 -
I'm planning on plotting myself up in the Alcock room and watching the Test on the telly and Surrey through the window. If either is going badly I'll face the other way. And if they both are I'll read the Sunday papers.blackpool72 said:

Surrey Vs Somerset should really be the final of the Blast. The 2 outstanding teams in either group and should be an absolute cracker.2

One outstanding team destroyed another team. Somerset won the toss then lost everything else. A happy afternoon.MarcusH26 said:Surrey Vs Somerset should really be the final of the Blast. The 2 outstanding teams in either group and should be an absolute cracker.2 -
Ooooh !
Can anyone else hear some twittering coming in from somewhere in SE London ?
Sounds like someone has decided it's time to sing the praises of a team that might just qualify for the T20 Quarter Finals !
After just 10 months of silence, their thread has been resurrected ! Bless !
Refreshing to learn they've finally located the 2024 thread.
They'll be sorely missed on the KCCC thread.
Not !

Good evening and welcome, Fanny. Nice to have you here. I never darkened the Kent thread's doors but happy to make this thread a vibrant place to discuss Surrey's quest for four-in-a-row. (Amongst other things.) 😊Fanny Fanackapan said:Ooooh !

This is actually the ONLY Surrey thread on here. Unlike us Kent boys and gals who can support an annual SuperKent threadFanny Fanackapan said:Ooooh !
