To be fair I have based all my opinions from public statements. RD stated in an interview that CAFC would be run as part of the network. How the manager operates in it is my concern and many others.

Correct, they are your opinions, and not facts.

  • Two hopes for us in the 2014=15 season then..

    1. Bob
    2. F*#k all.
  • Dunno why I keep coming on here. I suppose the same reason people used to visit freak shows.
P.s. Nailed on relegation fodder next season. Two Bob Peeters was his nickname at millwall. And he's now your manager. Brilliant.

    You have to laugh really.
  • This is all very Lomas IMO, will end in tears. I'll back him no matter what but just can't see it ending well, prove me wrong big bob

  • Bob Peeters is having a party
  • How many people wouldn't have minded say Uwe Rosler when he came over from Norway?

Please keep posting VFF, you're morphing into a cross between Victor Meldrew and Danny Dyer.

Just as Jose Riga, Bob Peeters is a very intelligent guy; RD seems to like to work with intelligent people.

NO WAY, Bob will be a "yes man" to RD, he is way to intelligent and proud for that. In fact RD is way to smart himself to have just people who lick his boots around him.

Not picking on you @byl, because I've enjoyed your contributions so far, but I'm afraid all the evidence provided so far suggests that the above is far from the case.

I'm wary of reopening old wounds and rehashing old arguments, but Charlton had an intelligent manager - a man widely acknowledged to be one of the most intelligent in British football in fact, who was even once elected to represent his peers - who stood up to RD. His name was Chris Powell, and look what happened...

Let's move on, though. Whatever happens regarding the appointment of a new head coach, to have a situation where a contracted employee, Jose Riga, gives what can only be an unauthorised interview to Sky Sports News critical of the club/his treatment is pretty damning of RD/the club's leadership/whoever is in charge.

Of course, Riga only had a short-term contract so he may no longer actually be an employee, in which case the supporters would have been told this important piece of information. Wouldn't they?

I'm trying to be positive about this new era, at the very least because the last one was such a mess, but it's really, really hard.
and the problem with Chris Powell standing up to RD was that he tried to prove a point and what we actually ended up with was that performance against a mid-table L1 side in a cup Quarter Final.
  • welcome Bob!

But, to be fair, he had already lost the argument by then. Why not instead consider the away win at Wednesday as an example?

because Liege player featured from the start in that game and was excellent.

Anyway, lets not turn this into another CP argument
  • how does Belgium Bob know anything about the Champs league ? basing it on playing for the Pony Spotters ? How does he select players that need to come in and actually IMPROVE this team with no Knowledge or help ? Jose had Dyer.

Seems madness by RD at the moment

Catherine said that "we know what players we want and will have all the deals done by the end of June" ------------------how the feck does that work when the Manager hasnt even been appointed ?

PS dont forget to vote Labour today guys ---the country needs you.
  • Best of luck Bob, hope you do the business. Diego Poyet is the first piece.

Joe Pigott is six inches taller than Yann Kermorgant - and he never wins a header.

Have read this a few times, he's definitely not six inches taller. From the handbook Pigott is 6 ft 2 and Kermorgant 6 ft (and a stone or so heavier). Pigott's a young striker that's scored goals regularly for the u21s, the club rate him because of his goals not his strength in the air and physical presence.

I'd love to see more players with Kermorgant's ability but that's not reason to have a go at Pigott, a young striker that hasn't even started 5 games for us.
I've also seen Pigott win headers so Viewfinder is wrong on two counts.
I haven't seen him win a header against a championship centre half- he has headed the ball but I don't think that was the point.
  • I for one will trust byl's judgement that he's not a yes man, after all he's followed he's career ,I personally think we would be able to tell what managers in this country are yes men if any, He's not my first choice but havnt read a single bad word about him yet from Belgian fans or Journalists , so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and back him 100% pre season will now be interesting to see what players he can attract to the club.
  • I got a photo of bob peeters at cheering cross
  • Lol. That's not BP. That's Reams ;0)
  • So if bob is announced today, and katrien says we hope to have all transfer activity done by the end of june. Does it give bob one whole month to get in pretty much a new squad.

A quick look at the updated squad list will tell you bob is going to have a pretty busy month getting in a lot of players (champ standard ones) or roland and his scouts have done the work for the gaffer.

In truth in SE London you have to draw the line on occassion on whats acceptable.

It is a good idea for a sign in name. Danny Meldrew, Victor Dyer, or DMVD. There is a good one in there somewhere.
