Riga has no doubt earnt himself a nice juicy bonus. He is now in a very strong position to negotiate a lucrative contract. Good on him, I hope RD is prepared to fork out for his services. If he doesn't I fear that another club will.
I think Katrien will be very aware of just what a different team and club we are now as opposed to when she arrived. No slight on SCP. I just think the change burst the stress bubble the whole club was surrounded by. I'm sure she will be saying something similar to RD.
So glad I did the drive up here now. What a brilliant way to end the season and with those three wins we finally werent relying on anyone else. 'pool fans all se quite happy. They were queueing to get out tho...
Riga has to stay!! Please!!! Also would love to see Astrit and petrucci back next year! Think they both have that added quality and technical ability and flair the rest of us lack..

speak for yourself. i ooze flair
By the rest of us I meant he rest of the squad! If we're talking about my 5 a side ability flair is not the word for me!
PWR. Such a good day, only came from manchester but so glad i did! Nice to see the team come over and applaud the fans! On route home, still singing on the train to many peoples annoyance but oh well. Note to self, must get to more games next season as every game I've been to we've won with a cleen sheet.
Blackpool very much on front foot in first half and looked more likely without testing Hamer too much.
Dervite was great while Morro got caught a few times.
Harriot was set up three times by sordell, Obika and finally Pigott and took all three very calmly.
No pressure on us once we scored, we relaxed and dominated.
Blackpool were poor though.
MOTM has to go to that "total waste of space, talentless pub footballer" who got a hat trick but Dervite and Poyet deserve a lot of credit. Petrucci's best game for us imho.
Best fancy dress was the two Jose "he's only got one suit" Riga. The real Riga shook their hands and had photos taken with them when he got off the coach.
Players and coaching staff showed their appreciation. A few will be off so thanks to them.
We finished last season in similar strong fashion and didn't build on it. Really hope we don't repeat that mistake.
Had far too much to drink last night but off to the Casino soon.
I suspect that Riga's comments are ambiguous simply because there is a negotiation going to take place. I would be surprised if he wasn't offered a contract extension but he might want some assurances about transfer policy, budgets and autonomy as part of any deal.
It might be that Riga wants to be a manager and not a Head Coach.

Red carter don't look at this... You won't find it funny !
What a fantastic day. Only up from Sheffield, but stayed over last night to make it more of an occasion. When i ordered my tickets i didn't know we were going to be safe and was nervous of how important the result might be. As it ended up it was immaterial, but still it's so great to see the season end on an absolute high with a party atmosphere (and i don't mean to fraternity of hen do's staying in our hotel). The first 10-15 mins were quite backs to the wall but we weathered the storm and rode our luck until the Boy Wonder did his party piece. To have seen a hat-trick two games is just amazing and not something i'll forget. The season has had it's lows and it's blows, but we've come through it together and as a club, we dust ourselves down and go again next season still in the Championship. New faces are necessary and that may be exciting, but who goes is a question many will be pondering. Have some played themselves into a new contract, RD will decide, no matter what anyone else thinks.
Thanks to all the playing staff, the coaches, and rest of the backroom staff and not forgetting our chosen one who is waiting in the wings for a return some day with a beaming smile to great us, that will reflect our own.
Mr Riga is welcome back for another year if he chooses, but I assume he will be moved/replaced over the coming weeks. He genuinely looked as though he was wallowing in the warmth of feeling from the fans as we sang his name as the players took the fans applause after the game.
Lastly a big thanks to all the contributors on CharltonLife. We disagree on so must but always agree on one thing. Charlton is our club that we love dearly and will miss over the next three months. Some may have a brief love affair over coming months with the national team, but most will be left waiting and wanting for August to come round for the next fix of the drug that is Charlton Athletic.

Davide displayed some very nice touches when he came on today .
What a great end to a rollercoaster season ! Well worth all those miles we travelled to the Las Vegas of the north although no time or inclination to sample the money pit next to the ground ( unlike Henry !)
The stresses & strains of another POTY dinner had taken their toll & the journey north on Friday was spent dozing - fortunately Mr F managed to stay awake. We discovered that our favourite auction outside Harrogate now starts 2 hours earlier than on our last trip a year or so ago , so that plan bit the dust....So, we decided to spend a tenner entrance fee on a Fine Arts & Antiques Fair in Andy Hughes' home town, only to find that the cheapest "lot" was around £3,000....so NOT our kind of thing ! A box of assorted tat for a fiver is more our mark. So, Harvester dinner & hotel in Lytham followed by a fun evening stapling raffle tickets together in readiness for tomorrow ....Who says we don't know how to enjoy ourselves ?
BIG breakfast, a short drive to the ground & a meet up with Marilyn & Ralph at the Working Men's Club for a final drink of the season & into what is now a very tidy, if small, home of the Tangerines. Really pleased to see how many had made the trip including several contingents of Hamers , 2 Elvises (?) and the 2 suited & booted Belgian lookalikes. Great stuff & hats off to all those who made the effort.
Not a great first half TBH with Blackpool, as expected, taking the initiative with only the accuracy of their shooting letting them down. Second half, different gravy though culminating in young Callum's well deserved goals. What a transformation indeed ! Another good 45 minutes all round, with Dervite for me a stalwart in defence. At least one excellent save from Charlton's no 1, a hobbling Jordan Cousins following 2 or 3 heavy tackles and a very happy group of players at the final whistle. But what sticks in my mind was Callum racing over to Jose, Alex & Damien when his 3rd goal went in , with his team mates inc Ben H close behind. If anyone doubted that the togetherness, the team spirit instilled & nurtured in this set of lads by the gaffer had diminished with his departure, they need look no further for evidence that it is alive & kicking...just as SCP would expect.
I've just read with interest, Jose's post match comments & everything he said resonates with the conversation I was fortunate to share with him at the Sponsors' dinner on Thursday evening. A mere handful of training sessions at SL have been possible since he took the reins due to the recovery periods demanded by the number of games over the past weeks. But this did not faze our manager. Far from it, he has seemingly revelled in the amount of time spent talking to his players, discussing game plans, watching videos ( sans popcorn !) and working on empowering his squad / emphasising what they are capable of as a unit as well as individuals. A very impressive guy indeed & I apologise for not having the words to do justice to what he put across. All I know is that he is a worthy successor to "our" Special One - something I couldn't have believed I'd say a few weeks ago.
As others have stated earlier, both Jose and Katrien have taken our Club to their hearts in a very short space of time and for this we should give thanks. They have come to Charlton, not merely to " do a job of work" but to be part of the family - and they have succeeded. Whatever we may learn (or not learn) in the close season about the plans for the future of our Club ; whatever words some may continue to use of a "feeder Club" ; I believe we only have to look at the Championship table tonight & the togetherness of players/management & fans at 2pm today to realise that M Duchatelet is doing something right....
When was the last time one of ours got five league goals in five days?
So glad I didn't miss that. When I think back to Donny away there has been one hell of an improvement. Poyet, for my money, is already better than either Bowyer or Shelvey ever was for us.

Brilliant chant at the game
It's not just for Christmas, it's for life.
