Marvin Sordell’s absolutely superb hat-trick on Monday not only gave the Addicks a vital three points but it also has potentially given Greenie Junior a sore-arse.
The 3-2 victory over Sheffield Wednesday has not only given us more of a chance of survival, but it also has given a huge morale boost to Jose Riga’s side ahead of their clash with Blackburn this weekend.
Blackburn will be a tough opposition for Charlton this weekend, as Gary Bowyer’s side are still in reaching distance of getting into the play-offs, which was boosted by a 4-2 away victory against Birmingham last Monday.
The OppositionRovers currently find themselves in 10th place and only three points off 6th, the race for the final play-off spot will likely go to the final day and Blackburn will definitely want to be in the running.
The impressive stat in Blackburn’s favour, is that they are unbeaten in over month with their last defeat coming against Bournemouth on March 12th.
Blackburn aren’t short of quality in their squad either, with a strike force of Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede likely to cause problems for any side in the league.
Other players to watch out for include ex-Premier League centre-back Matt Kilgallon and ex-Man Utd youngster Josh King.
The Line –Up Despite the superb victory on Monday, Jose Riga would not have been happy with his side’s defensive display especially after going 2-0 down. So there may be a change at the back.
The fitness of Chris Solly could mean that Lawrie Wilson could play in-front of him in right midfield or in place of him at right-back.
In midfield, Jackson, Poyet and Cousins should continue. Callum Harriott is likely to remain after his excellent performance.
Marvin Sordell is almost certain to start following his first career hat-trick while Simon Church is likely to play too.
The likes of Astrit Ajdarevic, Jonathan Obika, Davide Petrucci and Lawrie Wilson will all be in contention to start also.
However, I would not be surprised to see Riga keep the same side.
The PredictionAnother 0-0 draw, which wouldn’t actually be a bad result.

However... we all also know that when you expect nothing from a match Charlton pull it out the bag.
Actually thinking about it this may cause a paradox in the time-space continuum so who knows.
5-0 to them, 1-1, 7-3 to us.
What we need is Darren Ditcher back for one game...
Charlton always manage to surprise me though.
Blackburn's last result before playing us: 4-2 win away.
It's an omen, so I fully expect another 3-2 victory with another Sordell hat-trick.
In the real world I see a 1-1 or narrow defeat, this is Charlton after all, this needs to go down to the wire. Hope and prey I am wrong.
Everyone shitting their pants against Watford.
BUT, hoping to be proved very wrong and the lads surprising us two games running with a result for another vital point or even three? You never know with Charlton.
