Charlton v Millwall post-match views 2014

Solid point, with results around us going our way. Or not enough against a weak Millwall side?

Over to you.

  • With Millwall being so, so poor this season we, probably, should have beaten them, but a defeat would have been a massive blow so I see it as another point, clean sheet and five points against QPR, Leicester, Huddersfield and Millwall is no mean feat!
  • Four 0-0 draws and we are out the relegation zone.

I'll take that, especially since Yeovil, Barnsley, Birmingham and Blackpool all lost, and Doncaster only drew 0-0
  • Stays in our hands.

Still massively concerned as to where the goals are coming from. Where is Tudgay? One poor game and he's written off?
  • It was so so important that we didn't lose. Now we've given ourselves a great chance of getting out of it.
  • Now we're going to have to wait until at least 2015/16 to beat the scum again. Would make a nice 20th anniversary of our last victory.
  • Weird how this fixture gets you. Feels like a win to me.
  • A good point, important they didn't get all three.

  • Still in the stand, where we have been 'invited' to stay until 5.30 before we can go for a train.

Could be a valuable point come May, but with a bit more of a cutting edge it could have been all three.
  • Played ok today

Solid and could have nicked it with some luck

    Ref was an arse

Stuck behind the away end for my own safety, hate coming here
  • Can't help but be concerned with our lack of goals but a good result IMO, keeps us within 3 points of safety with a much better goal difference and 12 extra points to play for, we can do this still.
  • atleast we are seeign an upward trend in league results. if we keep trying, keep playing passing football and working on our game technically, the team will get the wins. the passion and commitment is there fro mall the players bar evina and sometimes sordell. we have to look for a win or another point against bournemouth. we are improving all the time and since the doncaster game which was our lowest ebb of the season, we have tried to improve our game and are seeing some fruits now. remember, the top sides who we play 3 games in a row will have to play at the top of their game to beat us. sheff utd was poor and leicester we were like sitting ducks but some solid results could see us pick up back ot back wins potentially. surely when you look at the table, yeovil and barnsley just dont look good enough, millwall are stagnating and blackpool are slipping down the table fast.
  • Decent point. Off the bottom. Good.
  • It sounded like we weren't defending for our lives at the end and were actually still trying to attack. That, and the fact that we had more possession than the opposition for the first time in ages, is very encouraging.
  • Should have won. Millwall are a poor team.
Looks like we can finally pass, would have taken the point before the game. Feel a bit hard done by only drawing.
Poyet man of the match for me.
  • Stuck in the ground again, not a great performance but result is better for us than them. Good CAFC atmosphere again.
  • Can anyone who was at the game shed some light on why Ajdarevic was taken off? Injured, needed to go more defensive? Has been one of our biggest threats from what I've seen of late, seemed a strange one.

  • Great result because defeat was a disaster. Defence is playing well and the goals will come. No real " new manager" impact except he hasn't conceded a goal yet. Depends how you like your glass.
  • Great point if we beat Bournemouth on Tuesday. If not, opportunity missed today. Worried about the lack of goals and wins, but happy not to lose to the scum.

It is encouraging but also a negative in the fact that we are really going at teams with our formation and style of play, and still can't score!! Even against a team who have conceded the most in the league!!
  • Got the line-up and result right in the preview. Just hope we can get a few goals and win on Tuesday!

Thought we had more possession than Sheff U?

Important not to lose and a point's a point. Good to be off bottom.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose...
  • Stuck in the pen . Not even any argy bargy . Dull all round really.

With the games coming thick and fast, so training will be at a minimum, it might take a bit more time for Riga's style/ideas to kick in.

Good point on paper and still in our hands. Win on Tuesday and we will be looking a lot better. Just need that bit of spark in front of goal.
  • Pleased to get anything against that lot but 3 games in 7 days and no goals is a big worry and puts massive pressure on the defence. Still would have taken the draw at 3pm.
  • I'd be more concerned for our survival hopes if we were leaking goals. If we can stay solid at the back and Riga can sort us out up front then we've got every chance of staying up.
