Well in defence of those that sniped, I thought Princess Fiona was a wind-up, but then I'm not in here 24/7 these days.

I just recieved a similar call from someone called Steve Dowman.

He was talking about how he had to leave CL as he felt he was not being backed by his fellow posters, which made his position untenable, leaving him with no other alternative but to walk. I wished him well in his new career as Reams lieutenant. He continued to eff & jeff at me until i put the phone down.......................

Good to hear. Although I'm not sure it was worth outing Princess Fiona as MI6.

Yeah, Powell asked her to put a contract out on RD. Fact.

No, HI is not my partner but I did say to my actual partner the other day that I wished I could wish CP well and say how much I respected him. And that the game needs more people like him. Via HI, the great man called me, totally unexpectedly so it turned out I could! I posted that he called me to show what a top guy CP is to those that read my post. What a loss to the club. I'm sure, as I said to him, he's got other things to sort out at the moment. But he took the time to call me, even though he has left. I am still gutted, possibly more so as he's reinforced my respect for him. As Strasburger said; class

my 10 year old nephew was on his way to meet CP at Bromley Addicks and had a good question to ask too. He was gutted when it was cancelled. He wasn't happy when CP was sacked and tearful the other night when we drew against Huddersfield as we were still bottom and he so doesn't want us to go down. Can someone get CP to give him a call please, landline or mobile is fine.

    "10 year old nephew"

    Is that you Large?
    No........my son !!!

Don't worry though, he wanted CP gone & was happy on tues when he heard the news, so probably best CP erases our no. from his phone book.

I don't believe you. Why would Powell call you? All this is getting very creepy.

You don't believe her? Why would she lie? She's not an internet weirdo.
    *Cough* * Cough*

  • Christ, what has happened to people on here recently? PF shares a really nice anecdote that clearly meant a lot to her and reinforces further the high esteem that many of us held Chrissy in. What's not to like or be interested in one would think. The result though? Ridicule, snidey remarks and crass references to a recently deceased, elderly man. I know everyone is wound up by recent events but come on people this forum is better than that.

Really pleased for you Princess and well done for organising Henry.
  • Wanted to wish me well. And apologise for missing the Bromley meeting. We talked a bit about about him leaving but I don't want to share a private call as he was very honest and I will let him say what he wants in his words, though the FMA I believe.

Did you tell him how the majority of fans felt about what happened??

Can I have his number? ;-)...

    What a top man....
Me too, I want his number.

Read above. Henry pulled some very nice strings and got the call made.

Rumours have it that @HenryIrving is in fact Chris Powell.

I would like to apologise for not believing you Princess Fiona. I am pleased that Chris Powell phoned you. He is a decent and thoughtful man.
  • if Powell has just called you then im going out tonight on the lash with ghandi

I think we have established he has called her, why wouldn't he? Why would she lie? What a silly statement from you! Enjoy your drink fest with your imaginary Ghandi!
And if you're going on the lash is similar to a night out in sheffield (a.k.a getting completely wankered), then the morning pictures won't be you in between Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow, as you thought at the time, it'll be a threesome with a Palace and Millwall fan, more akin to Tracey and Sandra from Viz!!

What is the matter with people? Chris Powell does a nice thing, without seeking any publicity for it as he has done with this sort of stuff all through his career. Henry did a nice thing by organising it. Fi wants to share how it made her feel and what a class act Powell is.

What's the problem guys? Why is it so hard to separate your view of Powell the football manager from Powell the man? He could have been the worst manager in our history, I have a feeling he'd still be a class act as a man. Get a grip of yourselves.

Spoke to Ghandi last night. Apparently he drank CharltonByBlood under the table which is why he's not posted on this thread since. And when they were talking about history and Ghandi talked about his life, CBB called him a liar despite all the evidence and then didn't have the decency to apologise.
