What a fantastic example he is to us all.
As gutted as he must feel he refrains from any bitterness.
I have a feeling we will see him again one day.
    Dunno why.....
    True true Gent,
    Good luck Sir CP.

I've that feeling in my bones, may be a long wait but I feel it might happen.
  • Classy and true. We do truly love him as a man, player and now ex manager.
  • A definite gent and so humble. If that were me I would have told them to go feck themselves!!!
  • Oozes class.
  • That is just so Chris and why we love and respect him. In my own way i'm going to make a protest and tribute to the great man. My next shirt is going to have 'Powell 100%` on the back so that the name on the front and the back fill me with equal amounts of pride! Cheers Chris, you never let us or yourself down. Legend!!

There is no denying he has something, something you want to follow, something you know is right, I cant really put it into words.
I don't feel sorry for him, because our loss is someone else's gain, he will be back, someday, somehow, he will be back, the guy cant live without us.
Its not a load of sloppy late night keyboard drivel, I thought it many years ago, its his destiny.

Ok so we might be saved from relegation, we might not, we'll move on, but I hope one day, he'll be back and he will be welcomed with open arms

Now look around, who can say that about Curbs, ever really connected with him? didn't think so.

    Good use of adjective there!

Cuts deep man. We get an owner who hasn't got a clue about charlton and what our club is about and a manager who should never have been sacked has been sacked. It's a shame that powells face did not fit. Rigas clearly does and who is he? Another waster of the RD clan... Chrissy Powell Chrissy Powell Chrissy Powell...

Shows how people like Richard Murray are balless has beens who should just clear off. Why is he even still here? He is a small fry who has no investment in our club. He has some front after the amount of fook ups he has made. He needs to jog right on

Alex Dyer has gone from a man to a boy in the space of one game. All because RD wants to be the big man on campus. "The go to guy"

Someone get him a one way ticket to Belgium. The Toby

    Bless you, Chris.

    Hayfever is back :(
  • I think he'll be back one day. Whenever that does is, it can't come too soon
  • What else should we expect from a true gent. No bitterness just a love for the club. Thank you Chris.

“Following my sacking, the first thing I want to do is give my most sincere thanks to the superb Charlton Athletic fans for their continued and unconditional support. I have always maintained a wonderful relationship with them both as manager of the Club and during my three different spells as a player.

“I always said I would never walk away from this great Club and ultimately it’s not about individuals, it’s about the Club and our fantastic supporters.

“I have over 15 years association with Charlton dating back to 1998, and over the years I have enjoyed many truly wonderful times. So, it is with deepest regret that my time as manager has now come to an end. It was an honour to have been given the opportunity to manage the Club and without doubt the proudest moment of my career in football was leading Charlton to the League One title, amassing 101 points in the process - a club record points tally. On a personal note I was extremely privileged to have been voted by my peers as the League One Manager of the Year following the success we all enjoyed.

“We experienced a fantastic first season back in the Championship by finishing 9th last term and I was confident that we would have secured our Championship status once again this campaign.

“In closing I simply want to wish everyone connected with Charlton Athletic the very best for the future.”

Total respect, I didnt expect anything else from the guy, a proper Gentleman.
