Honest assessemnt - JJ has excellent delivery and knows where the goal is. In open play, apart from when he is scoring goals he doesn't give the team much! He is quite important in a side that doesn't score many goals though and is more dangerous from set plays!

    Yep

Date of birth 15 August 1982 (age 31) from wiki
  • Jackson was not terrible yesterday. A good few worse than him. He doesn't have pace but still brings more to the side than is immediately obvious. It's a pity that's his lack of pace is not compensated for elsewhere in the team but they are pretty much all leaden footed. Harriott and perhaps Reza excepted.

He did well with the free kick for the chance - but was pretty nondescript apart from a challenge that some refs would have red carded him for.

I thought the same about the tackle, however the longer the chat with the ref went on, the chance of a yellow increased.

None of us will ever have the chance to play at Wembley in an FA Cup Semi Final.

Those players did today. If I was one of them, I would be inconsolable. Don't really understand why we have a right to say what they are/are not feeling. At the level they play at, they don't get many shots to play on such a grand stage as the one that was up for grabs.

Of course they get paid well, and they weren't out of pocket etc etc. But fans and players look at it from different perspectives - doesn't necessarily mean that the players aren't hurting. I'll bet anything they are absolutely gutted.

Spot on Tom. It's impossible to judge/say how other people are feeling in comparison to us! Why is it impossible? Because we are all different and we all 'feel' differently. It's like saying to someone who is grieving 'I know how you feel because I felt the same when I was grieving'. Well actually, you don't know how they feel at all because you aren't them.

    Slagging off Jackson is nonsense

I'd rest him Wednesday but for Millwall away I'd want no one else leading the side

But only if he plays left midfield as he did against QPR to good effect sneaking in to score the winner. He does not have the legs for centre mid. Promotion season that was his position. We need to stop playing square pegs in round holes to accommodate him. He was nowhere to be seen Sunday when their lump of a centre half ran through our midfield twice in the first half.

Maybe mate, but he has to play, heartbeat of the side, especially as Roland our saviour sold our best players

I find all this digging out individual players on Sunday daft to be honest, especially the likes of Jacko, Poyet, Cousins, Harriott...

No doubt they will be on here, facebook, twitter etc reading some of this rubbish

As for the original post, I don't usually go on twitter but fair play to him for responding

    Proper Charlton is Jackson

I hope we get a response in the next couple of games, but if we don't it won't be for lack of effort by Jackson

If we want a response, and we do, Jackson will be the man to inspire it. I think a midfield without him is just too inexperienced with the pressure games coming up.

Do not disagree guys but play the best players in their best positions. JJ does not have to play centre mid to be inspirational as we saw against QPR.

JJ clearly cared - I saw him bollocking some of the other players on more than one occasion. That man was hurting and he is proper Charlton, without a shadow of a doubt.

We know he is hurting, he is proper Charlton - but some of the observations about his contribution are still correct! I'd keep him in the team as he can score, has quality with the dead ball and will dig as deep as he can - we need him to.
