Might do some of our fans good to realise that the players are human too? We are upset and disappointed, but will be nothing compared to how they are feeling. Well done, JJ.

"Nothing compared to how they are feeling"?

You sure about that? Maybe you want to come round and tell my 10 year old how he isn't feeling anywhere near as bad as the players who he travelled hundreds of miles to watch play and then break down when the second goal went in. Or me, for feeling guilty for inflicting this whole disease on him.

I guess we've got off lightly in comparison.

    Honestly, some people .....
My 8 year old is the biggest cry baby when he plays football and loses but every Charlton game we go to he says we'll win but I say we'll lose /maybe nick a draw and I get in his head to expect the worse and so he is subconsciously mentally prepared for the inevitable defeat
In the early days it got to him all this losing lark but slowly but surely it's not affecting him as much
It's all about the mind games , try it !
Have done all that. Even told him on the way up it would be far better to lose at Sheff U than get beat at Wembley - be it a final or a semi final. Still didn't help him when that second went in. He just sat down on his seat with his head in his hands.

Poor fella thinks he's a jinx. Probably because he's only seen us win three times this season - and he's got a season ticket - and bugger all last season as well.

Though he did go to Barnsley last year, so I've told him it ain't gonna get much better than that!

  • Great answers , as usual.

Well, why don't you tweet him yourself? Oh sorry, I forgot you have such superior intellect you don't use twitter.
  • Would like him to have some post player career at the club.
  • Might do some of our fans good to realise that the players are human too? We are upset and disappointed, but will be nothing compared to how they are feeling. Well done, JJ.

Really I earn £200 A WEEK they earn about £5000 but that's all right bless erm
  • It's all character building for these kids to follow in our footsteps and follow this junk !

I'm sorry Kent, but i dont use Twitter because its the most mind-bogglingly load of bollocks that man invented, purely for the use of boring, brainless, teet sucking idiots !
    Do you use it ?
  • Ask him (and its a serious question) , as to why does he think that we were total shite today ?
I bet no-one has or does. Too much, yes Jacko, three bags full Jacko,we love you and Powelly Jacko. Can we come lick your boots Jacko.

You never know, supporting the team might be a good thing.
What, like starting today at 5am, and getting home at 20.15 - and driving for some 12 hours. !!

What block were you in today ?
What is it you want, Pres ?

    A medal ?

  • If you've driven for 12 hours today why on earth would you single Jackson out for criticism? There are a lot more in that team who didnt turn up today or have probably forgotten about it but lets have a go at that bloke whos still awake replying to mundane tweets about today.

For once I'm with you Off It. Not saying it doesn't hurt them but in a couple of years, or less, players won't be here and would have forgotten about it. I wouldn't have. And this isn't aimed at Jacko but players in general.

Apology accepted, I'm glad you apologised to me for being an uppity twat.

Ahh I see, hundreds of millions in the developed world, including some of the worlds finest minds and business persons are boring, brainless, teet sucking idiots whilst you are just so above them.

In answer to your question, in occasion, it can be a good tool I occasionally use.
Purely my opinion Kent, but then again, opinions dont seem to be respected here without being ridiculed, shat upon, or just plainly besmirched, just because they dont suit the popular vogue.
Hey, ho, see you next year at Fleetwood - at least i'll be there, probably unlike 5250 odd that were there today.

Of course, we're only talking about our kids on this thread as part of some elaborate plan to deflect criticism away from the main gist of the thread because Powell has briefed us to do so.
This is double plus ungood. The Powell will learn of this betrayal.

I'm not suggesting that players feel it more keenly than fans, but (and I'm aware your post wasn't aimed at Jackson, as you said) this was probably Jackson's last ever shot at playing at Wembley. I've seen us play in FA Cup quarter finals before, and I'm sure I'll see us do it again at some point in the future.

My point is that players and fans are in different situations that aren't necessarily comparable. I think that's my point anyway; it's been a long day, and I should be in bed. If I can't even follow my own train of thought any more, it's probably time to turn in.

Blimey, you feeling alright Large? Or come to think of it, am I feeling alright?
    ;-)

But that's my point though. I don't doubt that the players are hurting. Of course they will be. But to say that what we are feeling is "nothing" compared to them, well, let's just put it down to some clumsy use of language from whoever (weegie?) and leave it at that.

And I too have nothing against Jackson tweeting - FairPlay to our captain for showing he cares and not just switching his phone off.

Leave her alone!! Ffs she is only trying to put a positive stance on things, if you don't agree say you don't agree, there's no need for belittling her like that.

Then f course thats fine Kent, as long as its 1) constructive and/or 2) thoughtful with relative comments. To just slag off a person or comments without that is unacceptable and lazy in my view.

true mate its about us fans and yes ok jacko is standing up to be counted well done but its the fans that pay to watch travel to games and when they let us down like today its us that have pick our upset children up plus ourselfs i too dont think the players are as gutted as we are feeling! they may think we didnt play well but they will still be picking up money for a job done badly! i hope your son or daugther feel better soon! coz i remember being upset for ages after defeats at that age

There you go Kent, there's a perfect example for you - just some Tossa who wants to slag people off because it doesnt suit them, which one has the brain ?
  • None of us will ever have the chance to play at Wembley in an FA Cup Semi Final.

Those players did today. If I was one of them, I would be inconsolable. Don't really understand why we have a right to say what they are/are not feeling. At the level they play at, they don't get many shots to play on such a grand stage as the one that was up for grabs.

Of course they get paid well, and they weren't out of pocket etc etc. But fans and players look at it from different perspectives - doesn't necessarily mean that the players aren't hurting. I'll bet anything they are absolutely gutted.
  • well said uie2, it hurts for all of us, especially when it was so insipid, I am glad Jacko had the balls to talk to fans on twatter, respect him for that, better to face up to it than let someone else talk for you.
