  • why, was he up front for us???
Players can still play football with passion and want to win.

Are you telling me their hearts would have been in it knowing the Gaffer was going ?
    No chance.
why not? They are paid to play football and win matches. They are contracted to CAFC not Chris Powell. And they have a duty to their fans.

Players normally work extra hard if they want a manager to stay, imagine if we had won 3-nil on Sunday, no way could Powell had been sacked. And a massive personal prize at stake, the older players may never get a chance to play a Wembley, while the younger ones would see it as a great opportunity to shine in front of a massive audience

3-0? If wed have had 2 shots on target it might have made the decision harder :)
  • I think he new before Sunday. And thats why he stuck to his guns and gave 'his' team one last chance. I reckon they knew too.

THIS.. also explains the body langue of CP in the tunnel which was caught on the cameras before the game

    Exactly what I posted y'day
  • Surely if he knew before the game he would have come over to the fans at the end?
  • I don't think he knew for sure when but he did know the writing was on the wall.

Would he not have had TV duties i.e. interviews etc?

I would guess that he wouldn't want the last interaction with fans to be receiving abuse.
  • He was quite right not to come over to the fans at the end - few of us clapping the players, most spouting vitriol. Hope those people are happy now.

He would have been booed if he come over... Not a nice way to say goodbye, was probably in the back of his mind.

Yep. Best thing for the club (unfortunately).
